Package: qemu
Version: 1:2.8+dfsg-6+deb9u3
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

I have a Xubuntu VM running on QEMU (with the AQEMU GUI), and this problem
has occured multiple times while doing a dist-upgrade on the guest.

The guest is configured to only have 1GB of memory available (out of the 8GB
available to the host), but during a dist-upgrade, the QEMU process is using
far more than that. On one occasion, I have monitored the process and seen the
memory used increase from 1GB to 6GB+ in a matter of seconds before manually
terminating it. I have not noticed this during normal upgrades.
