Package: autoconf-dickey
Version: 2.52+20170501-2
Severity: normal

In debhelper compat level 11, dh_auto_configure passes
--runstatedir=/run to ./configure. Unfortunately, configure scripts
generated with autoconf-dickey croak on this, I get the error

configure: error: unrecognized option: --runstatedir=/run

in both xterm and tack. A workaround is to run the configure script
under compat level 10, e.g. put this into debian/rules:

override_dh_auto_configure:
        DH_COMPAT=10 dh_auto_configure -- …

It would certainly be nicer to accept this option, if only to ignore it.
I don't think any of Thomas Dickey's projects actually use {,/var}/run.
