I am using open-iscsi to connect to an iSCSI target. The drive is connected as /dev/sda1. The root directory is on device /dev/mmcblk0p1. After unmounting the iSCSI drive I issue the 'reboot' command. The reboot hangs because after the network is already down synchronization of the SCSI cache fails: Starting Reboot... Please, consider that other systems are using iSCSI targets for hosting the root file system.
