The root cause of this issue rests with the way mu-editor is currently packaged.
Upstream, mu-editor contains not just the editor but also uflash and
the compiled MicroPython hex, so flashing the micro:bit works out of
the box.
In Debian, such bundling is not permitted, hence I have split out
Package: mu-editor
Version: 1.0.2+dfsg-1
At the moment, when trying to flash a microbit when there is no
/usr/share/firmware-microbit-microbpython/firmware.hex file available,
the editor pop up this message:
Mu
There was a problem flashing the micro:bit.
