meanwhile I got redmine running again within a sub-URI by just changing the file
/usr/share/redmine/config.ru .
For this, I replaced the line
run Rails.application
by the three lines
map ENV['RAILS_RELATIVE_URL_ROOT'] || '/' do
run Rails.application
end
and set the

I asked to change the severity of this bug since unicorn starts with the default
configuration. But I'm failing to get redmine running under a sub-URI (
https:///redmine ) as it works with vesion 3.4.6.

for clearness I also append my redmine/config/environment.rb which I modified to
run the redmine server in a sub-URI. The problematic line seems to be line 16
RedmineApp::Application.routes.default_scope = { :path =>
ENV['RAILS_RELATIVE_URL_ROOT'] }
before the application

after upgrading from 3.4.6 the start of redmine via unicorn
fails. Please find the error protocol appended.
It seems to fail in line 19 of /usr/share/redmine/config/environment.rb
