Package: installation-reports Installer Hi
I was advised to make a report of this by the debian-users mailing list and directed to. https://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer/errata I am installing to a HP mini 10 netbook, the install seems to have gone very well. My report is more of an issue with what is displayed during the install process: Package: installation-reports Boot method: <How did you boot the installer? CD? floppy? network?> USB Flash disk - to create disk I used dd to transfer iso file to disk dd if=firmware-buster-DI-alpha1-amd64-DVD-1.iso of=/dev/sdf status=progress Image version: <please see below> Date: <Date and time of the install> 6/4/2019, 15:30 pm (approx) https://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/unofficial/non-free/cd-including-firmware/buster_di_alpha1+nonfree/amd64/iso-dvd/ https://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/unofficial/non-free/cd-including-firmware/buster_di_alpha1+nonfree/amd64/iso-dvd/firmware-buster-DI-alpha1-amd64-DVD-1.iso Machine: <Description of machine (eg, IBM Thinkpad R32)> Processor: Intel Atom CPU N455 1.66 GHZ Memory: 1gb Partitions: <df -Tl will do; the raw partition table is preferred> Output of lspci -knn (or lspci -nn): Base System Installation Checklist: [O] = OK, [E] = Error (please elaborate below), [ ] = didn't try it Initial boot: [OK] Detect network card: [OK] Configure network: [OK] Detect CD: [OK] Load installer modules: [OK] Detect hard drives: [OK] Partition hard drives: [OK] Install base system: [OK] Clock/timezone setup: [OK] User/password setup: [OK] Install tasks: [OK] Install boot loader: [OK] Overall install: [IK] Comments/Problems: <Description of the install, in prose, and any thoughts, comments and ideas you had during the initial install.> Issue 1 Shows Debian 9 on graphical installer screens. (Screen shot, taken during install process attached) Issue 2 more of a question. When taking screen shots, during install process. These are saved to /var/log/installer, this is fine but permissions are not set up for normal users to copy over to a usb flash disk, which I needed to do, as I am using my main PC to send this report. is there a reason for this or could permissions allow files to be copied by any user on the system. Permissions are -rw------- root root Hope this helps Paul Sutton -- Paul Sutton http://www.zleap.net https://www.linkedin.com/in/zleap/ gnupg : 7D6D B682 F351 8D08 1893 1E16 F086 5537 D066 302D -- Paul Sutton http://www.zleap.net https://www.linkedin.com/in/zleap/ gnupg : 7D6D B682 F351 8D08 1893 1E16 F086 5537 D066 302D
