as part of the broader effort to remove GTK 2 from the archive¹, we (pkg-perl team) would like to remove this package. It has been effectively unmaintained in Debian since 3+ years and orphaned in March 2018. Upstream is the same person who was previously maintaining this package in Debian and the upstream home page [2] suggests no recent activity; the "SVN" and "Download" links lead nowhere useful. So I have extremely little hope that this piece of software is ever ported away from GTK 2.
