It is also worth noting that patch(1) applies the two patch files I gave
differently.

Dear Maintainer,
When debdiff is comparing two packages where a symbolic link was added,
it shows the entire contents of the target. This can clutter the debdiff
unnecessarily.
It would be preferred if debdiff could do this as Git does it. Attached
