Source: mdadm Version: 4.1-3 Severity: important Patches recently landed upstream to support raid0 layouts. These layouts are new and important because the upstream kernel accidentally started using a new layout for multi-zone devices starting in 3.14. To avoid corruption, the 5.4 kernel (and many stable kernels) will now refuse to assemble existing arrays unless they have explicitly defined which layout they are using. While a default layout can be specified via the kernel command line - or a module parameter - an updated mdadm is required to set this value in the array itself.
