Package: systemd Version: 241-7~deb10u2 Severity: wishlist While setting net.core.default_qdisc=fq_codel at my site, I noticed that systemd already did so... but Debian systemd didn't.
It turns out that this is due to systemd (204-9) unstable; urgency=medium [ Marco d'Itri ] * Do not install sysctl.d/50-default.conf because the systemd package should not change kernel policies, at least until it will become the only supported init system. -- Michael Biebl <bi...@debian.org> Sat, 26 Apr 2014 21:37:29 +0200 That is entirely reasonable. But can we at least have a copy of 50-defaults.conf in documentation? That will make it easier for me to opt-in to it (e.g. with a simple symlink). I was thinking just something like debian/systemd.examples: sysctl.d/50-defaults.conf PS: if the position is "don't change kernel policies", why is 50-pid-max.conf being shipped? https://packages.debian.org/sid/amd64/systemd/filelist PPS: if systemd shouldn't change the kernel's policies, are there open bugs against linux to change the kernel policies there? ;-)
