It is always desirable to have command-line options for any piece of software. It comes more relevant when it provides access to such an important feature like Firefox Send for sharing (large) files securely. I do not know any other software packaged in Debian for this purpose. I have no experience maintaining packages, unfortunately I can't help in here.
