Package: orville-write Version: 2.55-3 Severity: important orville-write uses alternatives to ship a variant of write(1). For similar reasons, it also diverts mesg(1).
write(1) will move from src:bsdmainutils to src:util-linux, and orville-write is the only other package supplying a write implementation, with a different feature set, and unclear compatibility. Please stop using alternatives, and also implement diverting write, like its done already for mesg. The new binary package in src:util-linux will probably get a Breaks/Conflicts: relationship to orville-write (<< 2.55-4~) in the hope that this will be fixed. Thanks, Chris
