I ran into this issue while trying to migrate the root filesystem into a
btrfs subvolume on an USB hard drive.
I'm also using a Raspberry Pi 4B.
I followed Ryutaroh's advice of loading the reset_raspberrypi module, as
follows:
> echo reset_raspberrypi >/etc/initramfs-tools/modules
>
Control: reassign -1 raspi-firmware 1.20210111+ds-2
Booting linux kernel 5.10.x from USB MSD needs either
* loading reset-raspberrypi.ko in initramfs,
* or rebuild kernel with CONFIG_RESET_RASPBERRYPI=y in .config
Anyway, the combination of linux-image-arm64/sid and raspi-firmware/sid
does not
Control: reassign -1 linux-image-5.10.0-1-arm64 5.10.4-1
Control: retitle -1 5.10.4 Debian kernel does not boot on raspi 4 with ext4
rootfs and usb-msd
I checked the reported symptom with
linux-image-5.10.0-1-arm64 5.10.4-1
The symptom remains the same, unlike
