Package: virtualbox-guest-dkms Version: 6.1.18-dfsg-3 Severity: important X-Debbugs-Cc: jvalle...@mailbox.org
Dear Maintainer, Installing virtualbox-guest-dkms in this VM causes it to not be able to restart. Virtualbox window shows a kernel panic, I can get a screenshot, but have not figured out how to get the logs out from the VM in this state. Steps to reproduce: 1. Host system has virtualbox 6.1.18-dfsg-3 and vagrant 2.2.14+dfsg-1. 2. Bring up vagrant box "freedombox/plinth-dev" v21.4 with virtualbox provider. https://app.vagrantup.com/freedombox/boxes/plinth-dev/versions/21.4 A Vagrantfile is available here: https://salsa.debian.org/freedombox-team/freedombox/-/blob/master/Vagrantfile 3. In VM, edit /etc/apt/sources.list to switch to unstable, and add contrib component. 4. In VM, install "linux-headers-$(uname -r)" and "virtualbox-guest-dkms". 5. Reboot the VM. -- System Information: Debian Release: bullseye/sid APT prefers testing-security APT policy: (500, 'testing-security'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 5.10.0-5-amd64 (SMP w/12 CPU threads) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages virtualbox-guest-dkms depends on: pn dkms <none> virtualbox-guest-dkms recommends no packages. virtualbox-guest-dkms suggests no packages.
