Package: kdump-tools Version: 1:1.6.8.3 Severity: important X-Debbugs-Cc: Benjamin Drung <benjamin.dr...@ionos.com>
Due to use of the wrong variable names, dumps to an FTP server log incorrect messages. For example: [ 7.598933] kdump-tools[498]: kdump-tools: saved vmcore via FTP in :. when it should be: [ 7.196923] kdump-tools[498]: kdump-tools: saved vmcore via FTP in 192.168.12 2.57:/files/192.168.122.80-dump.202107221510. This could lead users to believe their system is misconfigured, leading them down the wrong debug path when trying to enable kdump via FTP. -- System Information: Debian Release: 11.0 APT prefers unstable-debug APT policy: (500, 'unstable-debug'), (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental-debug'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 5.10.0-7-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU threads) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_FIRMWARE_WORKAROUND Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages kdump-tools depends on: ii bsdextrautils 2.36.1-7 ii bsdmainutils 12.1.7+nmu3 ii busybox-static [busybox] 1:1.30.1-6+b2 ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.77 ii file 1:5.39-3 ii init-system-helpers 1.60 ii kexec-tools 1:2.0.22-2 ii linux-base 4.6 ii lsb-base 11.1.0 ii makedumpfile 1:1.6.8-4 ii ucf 3.0043 Versions of packages kdump-tools recommends: ii initramfs-tools-core 0.140 kdump-tools suggests no packages.
