Bug#645770: installation-reports: Bad URL for mirror ftp.ccc.uba.ar

2011-10-29 Thread demasiadovivo

Hi Miguel,
I wrote to the operator at UBA and he answered that the problem was about a server migration that
they've been doing at that time. Now it seems to be working fine.

Thanks for your time.
Regards,
Victor

Bug#635318:

2011-10-29 Thread RJ Ryan
Hi dragon,

Is this reproducible with any track or just one specific one? Is it only
when you load the track from a playlist or does it also work when you drag
and drop the track from the Mixxx library or from an external file browser?
Please also check if it is specific to any particular file format, also.

Thanks very much,
RJ Ryan

 Dear Maintainer,

It looks boinc-client initscript is using deprecated

reasons on debian kernel is already disabled.
(previously it worked, but printed warning in kernel message

Could you also consider to help out with a patch? kernel Documentation, well,
yes.

This bug just ate my LVM2 volume group.

Thanks for nothing.

What a stupidly named set of options.

Whoever wrote that code needs to be shot.

Thank christ I took a backup of the most important data (including my
kids first words) or I'd be really buggered now.

Also of note: Undo changes to partition tables does NOT restore the
disks to their previous unmolested states.

This is NOT intuitive OR sane behaviour.

2011-10-29 Thread peter green

tags 625412 +patch
thanks.

Doko's report is a false positive. The files that generate the warnings
in question are not built using -Werror.

However while testing to confirm that it was a false positive I
discovered that tuxpuck was unbuildable in current sid for another
reason. tuxpuck build-depends on both libjpeg62-dev and libsdl1.2-dev.
Since libsdl1.2-dev now depends on libjpeg8-dev this renders the build
dependencies uninstallable. The fix is to change the libjpeg62-dev
build-dependency to libjpeg8-dev.

This is very likely to be the same bug than the one fixed in kfreebsd-8
by 107_mount_update.diff. This patch has been disabled in kfreebsd-9
(probably because this part has been changed upstream), so this is where
 to look first.

Uhm... ISTR it's me who removed that patch during the upgrade. In any
case, I re-checked, and it seems to me that the code that made iovec
arguments a requirement is no longer present.

Err, I don't see any iovec arguments in the 107_mount_update.diff
that google finds for me as [Glibc-bsd-commits] r3165.

I don't have time to look deeper right now though :-(

Until we are sure it's not a kfreebsd-9 bug, it's better to keep the bug
 assigned to kfreebsd-9.

Since stock freebsd is documented as requiring -u (update) when
changing the mount options of an already-mounted filesystem, it
seems very likely to be a kfreebsd bug.

Requiring -u is a requirement from the userland mount utility. Here we
are talking about the kernel interface. In this case the MNT_UPDATE flag
passed to the nmount() function is ignored if the filesystem was mounted
ro and the update is to mount it rw.

This package is building ok for me.

Same here

Having looked through a number of these bugs I get the impression that doko was a
bit careless when doing his mass bug filing. Most are real issues but this is not
the first false positive i've come across and he didn't even seem to proofread
the messages (they end with The last lines of the build log are at the end of this
report. but no such lines are present in this report and several others.

I personally think a bug like this can simply be closed.

Maybe I'm missing something or we can close this bug?

If you want to ask the submitter questions you need to actually send the message
to them. nnn...@bugs.debian.org does not go to the submitter. You need to either
use nn-submit...@bugs.debian.org or send the message to them directly.

Let file /tmp/vimrc consists of two lines:

set nocp
set mouse=a

Run command
vim.nox -i NONE -u /tmp/vimrc -U NONE -o /tmp/vimrc /etc/fstab

Switch to the fstab window by clicking on it.

/* At this moment I type :set ttym and get ttymouse=xterm2. */

In normal mode run shortcut to shift indent (even if the current line of
fstab has no indent and file is read-only for normal user).

Try some mouse operations: windows resize or switching between them. /* they do
not work in my vim */

Run
:set ttymouse=xterm2
and test mouse operations. /* mouse returns to work in my vim */

On another machine (i386, with Debian unstable) I lose mouse working after
opening :Hexplore or similar netrw browser windows.

I have also tested this problem with unloaded ~/.Xresources file.

 Upstream Author: Arnout Engelen raboo...@users.sf.net
 URL: http://notion.sf.net
License: LGPL with addition trademark provisions
Description: Tiling, tabbed window manager for the X window system
Notion divides the screen into tiles and places windows in these tiles
by default. Each tile has a set of tabs for the windows within it.
It also allows windows to be made 'floating' and placed freely. Notion
can be controlled through the keyboard alone or together with a mouse.
   .
Notion can be configured and extended using the Lua language. It also
supports extension modules written in C.

'Notion' is a fork of Ion3, which was previously in Debian but was removed
due to a dead upstream. The Ion license may or may not be DFSG-free, for
now we should probably just put the package in non-free. For details see
 https://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/notion/index.php?title=Licensing_FAQ#Does_this_make_Notion_non-DFSG-free_.28non-OSD-free.29.3F

Tuomo Valkonen intended his first modified-LGPL to forbid use of 'ion'
in any filenames in a modified version[1], and I don't believe this was
rescinded. This goes beyond what is allowed by DFSG ¶4. His
relicensing may not have legal force since he was not the only author of
Ion, but when judging whether software meets DFSG we generally assume
that all licence conditions are enforceable.

[1] This was discussed on debian-private with the subject
Ion3/ParticleMan licence on 17-20 November 2007. I can also provide
my earlier correspondence with Tuomo for anyone that is interested.

Ben.

Bug#647060: ITP: openscad-mcad -- library for the OpenSCAD 3D modeling software

2011-10-29 Thread chrysn
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: chrysn chr...@fsfe.org

* Package name: openscad-mcad
  Version : 0 (unreleased yet)
Upstream Author : quite a bunch
* URL : http://reprap.org/wiki/MCAD
* License : LGPL2.1 (and some more)
  Programming Lang: OpenSCAD
Description : library for the OpenSCAD 3D modeling software

The MCAD library is a collection of modules and functions for OpenSCAD. It
contains boxes, gears, screws, and several generic shapes.
 .
The library is a kind of a standard library for OpenSCAD.

the package is technically ready, but quite a mess on the copyright
side; plus, upstream has not yet decided how to do releases. i'm
packaging it anyway as it will be included in the next openscad release
(itp bug 583476), and i stripped it out in favor of a Recommends: to
openscad-mcad.

with copyright, there are several issues:

* the base library (the library is really just a collection of useful
files) doesn't clearly state an author. (although it can be deduced
from git logs and package website.)

* some files don't mention original copyright holders (constants.scad,
math.scad). i'd be tempted to attribute them to the base library
author, but then why should they use another license? (plus, the base
library author's other files are cleanly labelled.)

it could be argued that they don't reach the required threshold of
originality, but i'd have to ask -legal about the implications of
  that.

* some files don't mention licenses, just copyright (polyholes.scad,
  teardrop.scad).

* some files mention incomplete licenses (Creative Commons is not a
license (involute_gears.scad), neither is BSD (boxes.scad), and
neither public domain (at least where i live, but at least it is
clear what the author means; trochoids.scad))

for the time being, a basic package is uploaded at debian mentors[1].

Bug#582137: dc is ignoring the .dcrc file.

2011-10-29 Thread Stephen Gregory
I would really like to see the .dcrc option back.

as a workaround you can use the command:

$ dc -f .dcrc -

or

$ dc -e commands -

As you don't always want the - option it is hard to alias these
commands so I declare a funtion instead. In .bashrc I have the following:

dc ()
{
if [ -n $1 ]; then
/usr/bin/dc -f .dcrc $*;
else
/usr/bin/dc -f .dcrc -;
fi
}

I think it does what I expect.

You can, as -server-dev-X.Y pulls it in. If bacula actually uses libpq
somewhere, it's cleaner to explicitly build-depend on it, though.

/usr/bin/bscan (bacula-sd-pgsql) and /usr/sbin/[bacula-dir|btape|dbcheck]
(bacula-director-pgsql) use libpq, so I left it.

Thank you for the suggestion, it is in my local copy.

 Awesome, thank you!

2011-10-29 Thread Murilo Opsfelder
Package: tzdata-java

Severity: important

tzdata-java has a dependency on tzdata (= 2011k-0squeeze1) and does not
recognize a newer version of tzdata (2011m-0squeeze1) installed on the system.

This is a showstopper and prevents user to install any package that depends on
tzdata-java. For instance:
