there is a workaround to get hardware pinpad running.
Add this line to .gnupg/scdaemon.conf:
enable-pinpad-varlen
Then it no longer pops up a dialog.
Of course, it should work without needing to add any options to
scdaemon.conf. So I leave this bug open.
