the problem is in the demise of the /dev/scd* links.
Once declared the "better" CD device addresses they now have been abandoned.
But wodim wants to see these addresses for enumerating devices.
Workarounds:
Create for each /dev/srN a corresponding softlink /dev/scdN.

Hmm, lto1 was stripped in GCC 5 (stretch) and now it's unstripped again
(sid, GCC 6). Is this intended or accidental?
