This bug has been fixed in upstream CVS, but given the very bad nature

The problem was fallout from the sigc++ 1.2 - sigc++ 2.0 port; I changed
how some internal values were passed around and made an incorrect change
(that unfortunately compiled) in the code that sets up the internal pager.
It's fixed in SVN now.
