Bug#315150: libfreetype6: Your 2.1.9 packages

2005-06-26 Thread Marc Wilson
Package: libfreetype6
Version: 2.1.10-1
Followup-For: Bug #315150

Your test packages of 2.1.9 also exhibit the same problem. I should
note that it ONLY seems to be 8 pt that makes it evident... at least it
doesn't jump out and hit you over the head at other point sizes the way
it does at 8 pt.

Examples are available here:

Bug#315800: openoffice.org: iiim setting doesn't stick, keeps switching to english

2005-06-26 Thread joshua
Package: openoffice.org
Version: 1.1.4-3
Severity: normal

Since debianized openoffice uses the gtk event loop, I decided to try
using iiim to type Hindi following the instructions here:

http://anakin.ncst.ernet.in/~aparna/consolidated/x1963.html

gedit works as advertised. When I try the same thing in openoffice, I
am able to switch into hindi using control-alt-l. However, as soon as I
type a few hindi glyphs, the language is switched back to english
(automatically, it seems). control-space always reports latin even
after selecting the language again with control-alt-l.

I am using iiimf-htt-server 11.4.1870-7.

scripts /usr/sbin/add-shell and /usr/sbin/remove-shell are both starting as
 #!/bin/bash
I've looked at both of them and they don't seem to require real bash.
So I tried to run oth of them using dash, and they succeeded without any
error. Please change them both to #!/bin/sh

(this should help with some bugs for bash and probably other packages).

The fix was already pending in our SVN repository..:-)

Bug#315808: ITP: cedar-backup2 -- Secure backup to CD-R and CD-RW media

2005-06-26 Thread Kenneth Pronovici
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Kenneth J. Pronovici [EMAIL PROTECTED]

* Package name: cedar-backup2
  Version : 2.4.2
Upstream Author : Kenneth J. Pronovici [EMAIL PROTECTED]
* URL : http://cedar-solutions.com/software/cedar-backup/
* License : GPL
Description : Secure backup to CD-R and CD-RW media

Cedar Backup is a Python package that supports secure backups of files
on local and remote hosts to CD-R or CD-RW media. Cedar Backup also
includes extensions that understand how to back up MySQL databases and
Subversion repositories, and it can be easily extended to support other
   data sources, as well.

The package is focused around weekly backups to a single disc, with the
expectation that the disc will be changed or overwritten at the
beginning of each week. If your hardware is new enough, Cedar Backup
can write multisession discs, allowing you to add to a disc in a daily
fashion. Directories are backed up using tar and may be compressed
   using gzip or bzip2.

This is my own software. I have been maintaining Debian packages in a
private repository for a while now (since before woody was released) and
I've been persuaded that I should include them officially in Debian for
etch.

I will be uploading the exact same package that is currently in my
private repository, so the changelog won't list a closed ITP bug number
or anything.

Bug#315719: [dpatch-maintainers] Bug#315719: dpatch-get-origtargz does not found upstream tarballs in ../upstream

2005-06-26 Thread Junichi Uekawa

What is the point of having ../upstream ?
(dpkg-buildpackage will need ../upstream there, right?)

I don't think dpatch is the correct place to
 support having ../upstream.

Actually, after all this I've realized that I've misread the
original bugreport.

By the way, What's the purpose of dpatch-get-origtargz, and
who uses it?

junichi

Hi,

How is your packaging of cddbd progressing? I'd like to use it. If you
are not a Debian developer, I can sponsor the upload(s). If you are
having time (or other) problems on getting the job done, I'd be
willing to take over the packaging or co-maintain the package with
you.

Please note I'd prefer not to send mail to you gmail account, because
of privacy issues. Thank you in advance.

Bug#313304: kdevelop3 bug

2005-06-26 Thread Andreas Lankes

Hi,
I have the same problem as the poster of this bug. But Kdevelop3 not
only crashes when trying to close it, it also crashes on every cvs
action. The problem occurs only on certain configuration of package
versions.

I run two computers:
On my desktop there is a debian testing distribution running with kde
3.4.1 from alioth and kdevelop3 from unstable. There everything runs fine.

On my laptop i run debian unstable and also the kdevelop3 from unstable.
In this configuration everything is ok.
But if i now upgrade to kde 3.4.1 from alioth (i think this is the
experimental distribution) i get the above discribed problem.

Perhaps it would be useful to forward this to the maintainer of kde 3.4.1?

Hope that helps,
Andreas Lankes

It would be nice if xsane could email scanned documents in .pdf format. I

Oliver Rauch just accepted my patch, so it'll be in the next version

FWIW, the behaviour I see more closely resembles that described by the
original submitter. ie. when Zoom is enabled, no thumbnails are drawn at

I met dpatch-get-origtargz yesterday for the first time :-) What I
guessed is that it is used by dpatch-edit-patch to retrieve the
.orig.tar.gz when you invoke it with the -b option. I.e. from a
directory where you only have the debian/ subdir instead of the whole
debianized source tree.

Cheers.

I don't know: I'm stuck on 2.4.x kernel because some binary-only module

2.6 kernels.

Do you need me to try, or can you do without?

Thanks very much for this!

To be a bit more kind to translators, I have just committed only the
whitespace cleanup that was in the patch. Using interdiff, I've created a
new patch containing all other changes.

There are some things that need looking into before this patch can be
applied:
- Do not change quoting and use of dashes in GPL appendix (should be
literal GPL text).
- Reduce para restructuring for some changes to keep diff as small as
possible for translators.
- General review of the diff.

I will do this in the week before debconf.

This works well under KDE, but not under Xfce4/Xfwm4:
- the window bar doesn't disappear.
- the menu bar neither (though it pops-up as normal)
- and the maximized window disappears behind the bottom of the screen
because menu bar and window bar are not counted in the
 window maximization calculation.

Hope this is all clear (I join a snapshot), don't hesitate to ask back if you
need more information or clarification.

VMware is installed as RPM package:

Does this still happen with 4.2.2 in unstable?

Did you try setting the panel to autohide?

Thanks for your stack traces, I'll need to fix the SIGFPE I have on my

This is really bugging me, because I can't use amarok (no other working
output facility has a equalizer), so I'm quite willing to dig into this
myself a bit. The problem I'm currently facing is, that I can't compile
gstreamer-plugins due to a conflict between libcaca-dev and
libslang2-dev (libaca-dev depends on libslang1-dev), how is gstreamer
built on the buildd's then?

I had a look at Amarok 1.3 (beta) and saw no big GStreamer changes
(they did not switch to playbin sadly), so I don't think this will
  solve anything.

Should I have mentioned that I alredy tried the SVN of Amarok ;-)

It would be helpful to document why it's useful and

After reading that, I do grok that it's useful to add that

Bug#315845: libfreetype6-dev: Documentation is not registered correctly with doc-base

2005-06-26 Thread Roger Leigh
Package: libfreetype6-dev
Version: 2.1.10-1
Severity: normal

The doc-base file uses the wrong section:

Document: libfreetype6-dev
Title: Debian FreeType 2 Development Documentation
Author: Various
Abstract: Development documentatin for FreeType 2.
Section: libdevel

It should be:

Section: Apps/Programming

Additionally, the Debian In the Title field is redundant.

There are also other documents (e.g. design, tutorial) in the package
which should also be registered.

Roger

 Hi Raidtools Maintainer

I don't know if this problem is related to raidtools2 but I seam to have
massive problems since sarge got stable.

I don't seam to find all tools needed to manage my raid-sets anymore. I'm not
even able to find a packet containing lsraid...
Even cronjobs complain that lsraid is missing.

Manpages still are present for all those tools. Just te binaries are not
 there.

 Where have they gone?

Package: libcurl3-dev
Version: 7.13.2-2

man libcurl-tutorial says:

When you write your configure script to detect libcurl
and setup variables accordingly, we offer a prewritten
macro that probably does everything you need in this
area. See docs/libcurl/libcurl.m4 file - it includes
docs on how to use it.

However this file is not in the curl library package:

$ dpkg -L libcurl3-dev|grep m4

It should be installed in a location that aclocal will search.

Bug#315846: specter-mysql: fails to load /usr/bin/specter/specter_MYSQL.so

2005-06-26 Thread kaik
Package: specter-mysql
Version: 1.3+1.4pre2-2
Severity: important

*** Please type your report below this line ***

Hello,

I've tried to get specter with mySQL support running. Unfortunately
specter fails to load the MYSQL plugin located in
/usr/lib/specter/specter_MYSQL.so .

For your help I've attached my specter.conf and the specter.log to
this message.

The entries (user, pass, table, etc) for the mySQL server in the
specter.conf are still the default values. I just tried to reproduce
the error on my router at home.

It won't work also if I add ssl_enable and the other SSL options like
ssl_key, ssl_cert, etc. to the specter.conf.

Cheers,
Kai

Hello,
I'd appreciate if you could check whether
http://downhill.aus.cc/debian/exim/exim4-daemon-heavy_4.51-1.amtest.1_i386.deb
solves the problem for you. I have verified that this version correctly
generates gnutls-params, but do not know about the other issue.

I need to add a warning, the gnutls-params file generated by 4.51 is not
compatible with 4.50, if you choose to downgrade again you'll need to
manually remove it.

FWIW a GNUPG signature of the package is available on
http://downhill.aus.cc/debian/exim/exim4-daemon-heavy_4.51-1.amtest.1_i386.deb.asc

Description: user space IEEE 802.11 AP and IEEE 802.1X/WPA/WPA2/EAP

Originally, hostapd was an optional user space component for Host AP
driver. It adds more features to the basic IEEE 802.11 management
included in the kernel driver: using external RADIUS authentication
server for MAC address based access control, IEEE 802.1X Authenticator
and dynamic WEP keying, RADIUS accounting, WPA/WPA2 (IEEE 802.11i/RSN)
 Authenticator and dynamic TKIP/CCMP keying.
 .
The current version includes support for other drivers, an integrated
EAP authenticator (i.e., allow full authentication without requiring
an external RADIUS authentication server), and RADIUS authentication
 server for EAP authentication.
 .
hostapd works with the following drivers:
 .
  * Host AP driver for Prism2/2.5/3,
  * Prism54 driver for Intersil/Conexant Prism GT/Duette/Indigo,
  * madwifi driver for cards based on Atheros chip set (ar521x),
  * Any wired Ethernet driver for wired IEEE 802.1X authentication.

This seems to be a separate issue. The current bug is really
the same problem as #314858 and #314987 (already merged) and I
can work around this by replacing the line

DEBOOTSTRAPOPTS[0]='--variant=buildd'

with

unset DEBOOTSTRAPOPTS

in my pbuilderrc file.

I will report the other problem as a separate bug report.

I hope this helps,

In /usr/share/gallery/config.php I have:

$gallery-app-default[display_clicks] = no;

but the view counts are still displayed. This is
not a proxy/refresh problem. I managed to fix this
by commenting out the lines of code displaying it
in view_album.php

I used the settings Wizard to produce the config
file. There's no duplicate line of the display_clicks
in it.

Bug#315650: exim4-daemon-heavy: TLS error (gnutls_handshake) - 4.51-1; was OK in 4.50-8

2005-06-26 Thread Calum Mackay

thanks for the reply, Andreas,

I'd appreciate if you could check whether
http://downhill.aus.cc/debian/exim/exim4-daemon-heavy_4.51-1.amtest.1_i386.deb

thanks; I'm trying it now. Will keep you posted.

I need to add a warning, the gnutls-params file generated by 4.51 is not
compatible with 4.50

understood.

cheers,
c.

Bug#315846: Acknowledgement (specter-mysql: fails to load /usr/bin/specter/specter_MYSQL.so)

2005-06-26 Thread kaik
Hello again,

arglx, my first bug report to the Debian BTS and I did a mistake. :-|

The path in the subject should be /usr/lib/specter/specter_MYSQL.so
instead of /usr/bin/specter/specter_MYSQL.so.

Cheers,
Kai

Bug#315777: poedit: [UPSTREAM] erases every second automated comment

2005-06-26 Thread Christian Perrier
Quoting Vaclav Slavik ([EMAIL PROTECTED]):
 Hi,

I suggest you close the bug as out of date, this was fixed in
 poedit-1.3.2.

Strictly speaking, we should tag it as sarge as the bug is already
present in the version of poedit we have in sarge, namely 1.3.1.

Luk, up to you...

(Vaclav, Luk Claes is in the process of taking over the package of poedit)
