Bug#502801: Apply the patch in 502801 to no longer import system users in passdb.tdb?
Quoting Steve Langasek (vor...@debian.org): See my earlier comments in 20080330015442.gb31...@dario.dodds.net: I'm fairly indifferent to this patch. I can't see any reason why system users should be excluded; adding them to the pdb doesn't give them passwords or otherwise permit people to connect as these users, it just makes them better visible to Samba - which means that if they do show up in any ACLs on shared files, clients will get a more user-friendly display. Hmmm, really? If system users aren't listed in the tdb, they're still displayed to clients when clients list ACLs. I just tried this on my own system by sharing a simple directory, create a file owned by ftp there...and the file owner was properly appearing in the Windows Security tab. signature.asc Description: Digital signature

From what I could see from reading the code, the number of jobs should automatically default to the number of available CPUs in any case, so should automatically be 1 at least on the porter box. However, assuming that adding the following to debian/rules would implement your suggestion, then sadly no it does not appear to be enough: waf-configure-options += $(if $(filter hppa,$(DEB_HOST_ARCH)),-j1) Even with this change, the ./waf configure call hangs after outputting Checking for dbus-1 = 1.0.0 : ok Checking for dbus-1 flags: ok Checking for header expat.h : ok I killed it after 15 minutes of inactivity; the build output shows that -j1 was passed to the configure call. Bug#580849: evolution looses adressbook.db in .evolution dir
Package: evolution Version: 2.28.3-1+b1 Severity: normal Tags: squeeze It seems, that my evolution forgets to use older adressbook.db files. in .evolution/adressbook/local are some more subfolders, which contains adressbooks. Only the newest one is used. If you go into the contacts view in evolution only 1 adressbook is visible. But I had setup more than 1 adress-list, i.e personal, job, hobby list. First it would be useful if we can get the old contacts back with an importfilter. Second I don't know why evolution stops working with this older adressbooks. this should not happen. output of ls in /local/dir is here: drwxr-xr-x 8 wolfgang wolfgang 4096 24. No, you only have to drop calls to CMAKE_EXPORT_BUILD_SETTINGS from these projects (and may also drop CMAKE_IMPORT_BUILD_SETTINGS from callers), see comments in /usr/share/cmake-2.8/Modules/CMakeExportBuildSettings.cmake IMO there is no need to add a versioned dependency against cmake. Bug#574555: BUG: scheduling while atomic: irq/11-b43/2018/0x00000101
I find a similar oops very reliably whenever there is moderate network traffic, like updating squeeze. This happens on 2.6.32-3-686, 2.6.32-5-686, and 2.6.33-2-686 from experimental, but not at all on the earlier squeeze kernel 2.6.30-2-686. Soon after this the system locks up completely. This makes the b43 driver in the current kernels more or less unusable for me. Bug#580706: akonadi-server: Crashes after start
Hi Michael, I think, we had a bad start with our conversation. I was a bit frustrated about this new bug (I had several bugs and lost functions in the past since KDE moved from 3 to 4) and my mails were not as polite as it should be. I'm sorry. Please let us restart on a constructive base. Michael Meskes mes...@debian.org: On Sat, May 08, 2010 at 03:04:09PM +0200, Erik Schanze wrote: tag 580706 moreinfo tag 580706 unreproducible thanks tag 580706 -moreinfo tag 580706 -unreproducible thanks What the hell is this? Why do you believe the bug is no reproducible? And where is all the info we need to fix it? I thougth I gave you all information you requested, so I reset the flag. I understood it works like the flag on a American letter box, but if you like to have it set, untill you have all infos, I will let it set in future. I tried it first, but without any change. Akonadi crashes with a dump, perhaps we could find the error there? Can you access your akonadi resources with akonadiconsole? What happens if you completely remove your akonadi resources and add new ones? If I call akonadiconsole in Terminal, I will get the same crash as on Kmail start. I cannot do anything with akonadiconsole. Please find attached log file. Perhaps I broke something because I disabled akonadi and nepumuk to save diskspace on my notebook? I had the tip from this site: http://www.strw.leidenuniv.nl/local/computers/it_local/fedora_tips.php (chapter KDE 4.x - cutting down on overhead) Unforunately I cannot reenable Akonadi, because there is no entry in the settings menu anymore. Would it help, if I compile a debug version of akonadi an drag down the crash? Right, and there is no problem in using SID. However, if you feel the need to pressure us, because of a new bug in sid, something's going wrong. You are right, it was not my intention to do any pressure on anybody. On Sun, May 09, 2010 at 08:09:00AM +0200, Christian PERRIER wrote: But not for the *original* timezone name, right? (which was, imho, the point of Holger's original proposal). Right, changing the name of the file on disk would be different. I don't know exactly how tiezone names are handled upstream. Is there any kind of standard that's followed or is this just upstream's inspiration? There is no formal standard. As I recall, it took a bit of a fight for Asia/Saigon to be renamed to Asia/Ho_Chi_Minh, and that change still didn't satisfy everyone. To the point at hand, I think it would be worthwhile to ask for Ponape to be renamed to Pohnpei. Fernando de Noronha won't work, because it's too long to fit into the field. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Bug#580865: full screen mode does not resize to full screen
Package: evince Version: 2.30.1-2 When selecting full screen mode pressing the F11 key, the PDF page is not shown in full screen. I still see a small border on the left and top sides, and a scroll bar on the right side. Moreover, the page is rendered with a shadow on the right and bottom sides. Moreover, when tool bar is visible, switching to full screen should hide it. This was previous behaviour, if I remember correctly, and the new behaviour is not better. The OpenRD uses a Kirkwood SoC while the DB-78x00-BP Development Board uses an MV78xx0 SoC. While they both use the Feroceon core, there are notable differences. For example, the Kirkwood has no FPU while the MV78xx0 has one IIRC. In any case, we have pretty good contacts at Marvell so if anyone has a testcase (ideally a smaller one than run yorick) we can forward it to them. Hi, Porting issues with Yorick are often (always?) related to FPE trapping. Since you mention that one of those has an FPU while the other does not, the problem must lie there again, perhaps at feenableexcept(). I attach a short test-case which I have used already to demonstrate buggy SIGFPE handling on another arch. Usage is documented in the file. Can you check whether this test case: - runs fine; - triggers SIGFPE; - triggers SIGILL? Best regards, Thibaut. fputest.c Description: Binary data

The way it is set up now, you have to remember to fix the debian/ .desktop file to reflect their changes when upstream releases the next version. This bug amount the fact that it is no longer possible to change the pitch of the bell is tagged upstream but not marked as forwarded. Does upstream know about this problem? Have the seen the patch? To be precise: It shows an “image not found” placeholder. Maybe some hard-coded icon path has changed? I’m investigating this issue... Comparing http://packages.debian.org/search?suite=lennysection=allarch=anysearchon=contentskeywords=stock_mail.png and http://packages.debian.org/search?suite=sidsection=allarch=anysearchon=contentskeywords=stock_mail.png I see that the file /usr/share/icons/gnome/16x16/stock/net/stock_mail.png was removed from the package gnome-icon-theme. The file src/mn-stock.c references that file via gtk_icon_source_set_icon_name(icon_source, icons[i].icon_name); where icons[i].icon_name is stock_mail. It might help to just copy the missing files into the art/ directory... The bug has been brought to upstream’s attention: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mail-notification/+bug/557137 but no reaction yet. Reading through the Gtk documentation at http://library.gnome.org/devel/gtk/2.18/GtkIconTheme.html it seems that the correct solution would be to install the missing items somewhere under /usr/share/mail-notification and add that path via gtk_icon_theme_append_search_path().
