Bug#588995: Allow per-user default pastebin.

2010-07-14 Thread Trent W. Buck
Package: pastebinit
Version: 1.1-2
Severity: wishlist

pastebin.com is the default pastebin. Aside from my not liking it, it
doesn't work correctly with polipo due to bizarro HTTP/1.1 expectation
failures.

I wish I could create a dotfile in my home directory to define
additional pastebins and make one of them the default.

(I realize I can use an alias when in a shell, but sometimes I invoke
pastebinit from noninteractive shells, where aliases are not
available. Writing a wrapper script to simply add -b URL also seems
kinda ugly.)

Bug#588996: dissy: DeprecationWarning: Use the new widget gtk.Tooltip

2010-07-14 Thread Sandro Tosi
Package: dissy
Version: 9-1
Severity: minor

Hello,
it's quite boring that at each execution, dissy prints:

# dissy
/usr/bin/dissy:158: DeprecationWarning: Use the new widget gtk.Tooltip
  tooltips = gtk.Tooltips()
/usr/bin/dissy:159: DeprecationWarning: Use the new widget gtk.Tooltip

Ctrl-l))
/usr/bin/dissy:160: DeprecationWarning: Use the new widget gtk.Tooltip
tooltips.set_tip(patternMatchBin, Enter a pattern to highlight (shortcut
Ctrl-k))

I think it has to be upgraded to new GTK+ APIs.

Sandro

Bug#588998: mail-notification: span violates Desktop Notifications Specification

2010-07-14 Thread Tino Keitel
Package: mail-notification
Version: 5.4.dfsg.1-2.2
Severity: normal

Hi, according to
http://www.galago-project.org/specs/notification/0.9/x161.html, span is
not supported and there is also stated that notifications should never take
advantage of tags that are not listed above. However, mail-notification
uses span markup, which looks ugly with a notification daemon which
follows the specification, like xfce4-notifyd.

Bug#588812: [DebianGIS-dev] Debian GIS metapackages available [Was: debian-gis_0.0.1_i386.changes ACCEPTED]

2010-07-14 Thread Andreas Tille
Hi Francesco,

On Tue, Jul 13, 2010 at 03:40:53PM +0200, Francesco P. Lovergine wrote:

I have not specific preferences about lists, I simply would note that
pkg-grass-general/devel were born at the time to manage a low traffic
packaging oriented list and listmasters had the opinion that alioth
 lists were appropriate for that.

I hope that listmasters will agree that this is not the case any more.

That said, I would also note that
current -general list is closed to subscribers, while debian-gis
would be open to the world (as generally done for all listmasters lists),
with obvious consequence for subscribers about spamming...

The pros and cons are heavily discussed in the past and I do not think
it makes sense to repeat this discussion. I personally get about one or
two mails per month from each mailinlist @l.d.o thanks to the
spamfilters the listmasters applied (thanks to the effort of
listmasters!) and local SPAM filters. That's IMHO acceptable.

I take your mail as somethink like it is fine for me to create the list
if you care for it and thus I hope the mailing list can be created soon.

Question to listmasters: Is it possible to take over the content of the
list archive of pkg-grass-general to debian-gis archive? I guess the
different listservers might make this hard and I do not really want to
put this on you. But if there would be a reasonable way to do this it
would be probably a good idea.

Kind regards

   Andreas.

Bug#589002: gdb: Dynamic linker debug symbols mismatch when debugging 32-bit executables

Bug#559554: Patch for the l10n upload of ucf

2010-07-14 Thread Christian PERRIER

Dear maintainer of ucf,

On Wednesday, July 07, 2010 I sent you a notice announcing my intent to upload a
NMU of your package to fix its pending l10n issues, after an initial
notice sent on Friday, July 02, 2010.

We finally agreed that you would do the update yourself at the end of
the l10n update round.

That time has come.

To help you out, here's the patch which I would have used for an NMU.
Please feel free to use all of it...or only the l10n part of it.

The corresponding changelog is:

Bug#588999: [pkg-cli-apps-team] Bug#588999: banshee: span violates Desktop Notifications Specification

 Hi,

 according to http://www.galago-project.org/specs/notification/0.9/x161.html,
span is not supported and there is also stated that notifications should
never take advantage of tags that are not listed above. However,
banshee uses span markup, which looks ugly with a notification
daemon which follows the specification, like xfce4-notifyd.

Could you clarify what looks ugly means, please? Does the span tag appear in
text, or does it get filtered out, or what? The notification you had linked
appears to state that unsupported tags should be filtered out, which does seem
like sane behaviour to me. notify-osd, Ubuntu's default notification daemon
implementation, does this, and Banshee's notifications with notify-osd look just
fine.

Bug#578083: libqtgui4: non-KDE Qt apps do not use style engine

 Now QtCurve appears in qtconfig.

I understand now:
kde-style-qtcurve style plugin is installed as
/usr/lib/kde4/plugins/styles/qtcurve.so
Under KDE desktop, the QT_PLUGIN_PATH environment variable is expanded:
QT_PLUGIN_PATH=~/.kde/lib/kde4/plugins/:/usr/lib/kde4/plugins/

If you want your Qt applications able to use the plugin, you should
set QT_PLUGIN_PATH as appropriate in your Desktop environment.

Cheers,

Where? I can't find such a statement in the specification.

Did you mean this statement?

The following tags should be supported by the notification server.
Though it is optional, it is recommended. Notification servers that do
not support these tags should filter them out.

This is specific to the tags which are defined in the specification.
The xfce4-notifyd supports some tags, and the unsupported (like img)
are filtered out. The cited statement above does not apply to
unspecified tags, like span.

Bug#589004: ITP: maven-ant-tasks -- A library to use Maven's artifact handling features from Ant

Description : A library to use Maven's artifact handling features from Ant

There are newer upstream versions available. But I am packaging an older
version specifically to facilitate packaging of leiningen, a clojure
dependency/build management tool which is used widely among the clojure
community. leiningen specifically depends on 2.0.10 version of
maven-ant-tasks as newer versions supposedly have grave bugs. Newer
versions will be eventually packaged.

Bug#589005: grub-pc: Not possible to select MD devices for installation

2010-07-14 Thread Michael Guntsche
Package: grub-pc
Version: 1.98+20100710-1
Severity: normal

Due to recent changes in iterate_devices dpkg-reconfigure grub-pc no
longer shows MD devices for installation. To work around this you can
run grub-install '(md0)' manually.

Bug#588196: b43: does not join multicast groups

Well, it is about *receiving* a multicast transmission (IPv6 router
advertisement, sent to 33:33:00:00:00:01). I have no idea where the
packet is dropped; from my somewhat limited understanding of 802.11, I'd
expect the frames to be treated like broadcast frames by the AP, so it'd
be the receiver dropping them in the MAC filter.

Ubuntu Bugreport:
https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qemu-kvm/+bug/458521
Patch: http://launchpadlibrarian.net/34603683/patch

Reproduced this with

  apt-get install vim

inside guest. As soon as the guest retrieves data from debian mirror in
our LAN the machine crashes.

Changing NIC of guest from virtio to e1000 fixed it.

Bug#586337: [Pkg-samba-maint] Bug#586337: samba: Owner of file not available with kerberos (Samba bug 7139)

2010-07-14 Thread Christian PERRIER
Quoting Daniel Piddock (dgp-...@corefiling.com):
 Package: samba
 Version: 2:3.4.8~dfsg-1
 Severity: important
 Tags: patch upstream

Samba 3.4 does not correctly return/detect the owner of a file if
kerberos auth is used. This gives unusual experiences for files owned by
the user, if group of the parent folder is not +w:
 * Can modify the file
 * Cannot rename
 * Cannot delete
 * Cannot edit permissions

These problems make samba practically unusable in a kerberos enviornment.

I just committed upstream's patch in the trunk. Next samba 3.4 upload
will include that fix. Thanks for pointing us to it.

Bug#588969: [Pkg-openldap-devel] Bug#588969: slapd 2.4.23-1 fails to start with libdb4.8 4.8.26-1

2010-07-14 Thread Alex Samad
Hi

Sorry apologies, very light on the information. I did an upgrade of slapd
and when slapd went to start there were errors could not start expecting
version xxx and found version . At that point I guessed it was the libdb
package needed to be brought into line with slapd. Once I loaded that it
started - I had some other problems but did not investigate any further.

However, because sh4 has variable (regs) of the same name as mips, it is
 treated as mips.
It's even worse than that, the code only works on little endian mipsel
not mips, so not only do I need to add your check, I need to make sure
it is a mipsel architecture.

I made the patch that added unique variable cp0_status of mips to the check.
When this patch is applied, this problem can be avoided.
 Could you apply this patch?
I've got your patch and the additional architecture check in the
upstream git repository:

Bug#587031: donutsd use /tmp/donutsd/ for state directory

2010-07-14 Thread Ondřej Surý
 Hi,
do you expect that those state files have to be kept between reboots?

I am wondering if /var/run/donutsd/ would be a better location.

Well I'm not sure the administrator will expect to receive all the
warnings again if he reboots the machine.

Ok, then it makes sense to store it in permanent location. I'll fix
that in next upload.

Thanks, I haven't used donutsd, so your advice is appreciated.

Bug#589014: pg_lsclusters: pgdata might be uninitialized

2010-07-14 Thread Christoph Berg
Package: postgresql-common
Version: 105

Hi,

on one machine we have a decommissioned 8.1 cluster laying around
which has for whatever reason data_directory commented out.

#data_directory = 'ConfigDir'

pg_lsclusters doesn't like that and says use of uninitialized value
in line 38 when printing the result. The patch below fixes the
problem.

Bug#447801: closed by Steve Langasek vor...@debian.org (Re: libfreetype6: Different weight between Upstream and Debian version)

2010-07-14 Thread Sylvain Beucler
The bytecode interpreter is now enabled by default upstream as of version
2.4.0, now that the patents involved are expired worldwide. So your font
may still not look very good, but it's not a Debian divergence at this
point, so closing this report. :)

Thanks a lot for the info!

  Freedesktop.org's per-spec.
- Add tvtime-1.0.2-alsa.patch to enable audio routing from external TV card;
- debian/control: Build-depend on autoconf, automake, libasound2-dev,
  libtool.
- debian/rules: Call autoreconf to re-generate the configure script.

And we think you should too. Attaching the patches.

Previously, before the switch from glibc to eglibc, iconv -l would show all
the aliases for an encoding on the same line as the encoding. Now every
encoding, whether primary or an alias, is on a separate line.

You have to be more specific about the problem, I don't see any change
between glibc based version and eglibc based version beside a few more
supported encoding.

POSIX doesn't specify the format of the output of iconv -l, but the previous
behavior was helpful, and I understand that eglibc is trying to be closely
 compatible with glibc.

glibc and eglibc don't differ on the iconv code.

Encoding names like UNICODE and UCS-2 are ambiguous because the byte order
isn't specified. It could be whatever is native for the platform, or it could
be a canonical, host-independent order such as big-endian. This should be
 clarified somewhere.

This is not ambiguous, the byte order is either little endian (UCS2-LE,
UNICODELITTLE), big endian (UCS2-BE, UNICODEBIG), or native
(UCS2, UNICODE).

All of these formats are listed in iconv -l.

Hi,

In the configuration file the entropy source is urandom.
I'm not sure urandom fits for keys creation and I think that random
should be used instead for that.

Bug#575775: Mixes-up messages among unrelated folders

Ricardo Mones mo...@debian.org wrote:

I would like to add even more informations.

This bug struck me again several times since the last update, with
usually one or two messages being swapped, but today I got a new
variation.

Upon switching the selected folder A to another folder B, in the
same account, claws downloaded the entire contents of A into
B (I'm sure, since the download took several seconds and the
progress bar was running). Looking through .claws-mail/imapcache/, it
seems that the disk contents reflect what I see on the screen (files
indeed contain stuff from folder A).

Switching the selected folder from B to A and to B again made
claws re-download the *real* contents of folder B.

This time, folder A contained 250 messages, folder B 11 messages
only, so, both pretty small in size.

Server is running dovecot 1.2.12 via imaps.
I also experienced the same issue with an Exchange 2003 server
(always using imaps).

I'm afraid I'll stop using claws immediately, since this bug is too
serious for me.

According to Debian policy section 12.5:

Packages distributed under the Apache license (version 2.0), the Artistic
license, the GNU GPL (version 2 or 3), the GNU LGPL (versions 2, 2.1, or 3), and
the GNU FDL (versions 1.2 or 1.3) should refer to the corresponding files under
/usr/share/common-licenses, rather than quoting them in the copyright
file.

Presumably the templates for these licenses should reflect this not to mention
the dh-make copyright file itself.

Bug#588939: jfsutils: Is it a joke that my three JFS harddisks crashed at the same time? JFS reliability?

2010-07-14 Thread yellow protoss
Dear Sir,

I was completely down ! I live again or I resurrect. Those 3 harddisks are
now working again! uff uff ufff
They got fixed finally successfully, although a first attempt with testdisk.

So the story board is as follows.
The PC got frozen, apparently, and somebody, without telling me, cold reset
it.

The PC didnt like it. The pc has
ext3, the system /
and those 3 JFS disks (big) running and mounted.

So the cold reset resulted in at next power into :
   mount /dev/X /mountpoint
   cannot be mounted

So I did touch /forcefsck
and nothing happened :(

I did testdisk and visibly testidks was telling me that hidden sectors or
parts problems, continue y/n ?
- n

so I detected that jfsutils was not installed.
So apt-get install jfsutils
touch /forcefsck
reboot

and it worked one hour around,, hard, and I got successfulyl back my 3
harddisks.

First conclusions:
(1)
JFS without jfsutils is not stable compared to EXT3
JFS is more stable than EXT3 in general regarding cold power-ing. JFS is
great cuz it checks at single boots the JFS disks display a msg about it.
JFS is highly stable compared to EXT3. Iovin'it (like mac do)
besides, hat'in it: disk crashes

(2)
JFSUTILS shall be installled by obligation as soon as JFS is there, used in
the PC

(3)
touch /forcefsck
is so great and useful, that nothign can replace

(4)
If case that harddisk with JFS really crashes, ... well you are in shit,
really
Compared to getdataback for ntfs or fat32, you can recover the disk in
almost its integrality. NTFS is so nicely stable I have to say, compared to
EXT3. JFS is great and I advice it, since I never got a harddisk crash yet
with it. My long experience with EXT is relavtivelty moderated and I got
time to time harddisk crashes, with crazy using.
so to say:
photorec or testdisks are not adapted to linux, or just for basics.
I mean who wants a recovery of disk without filenames, when you have 2 Tb? I
mean 2 TB of files or 2 TB of mess. Better format /U the disk than
recovering, even for important data, I'd say. well , in emergency, why not.
So getdataback for ntfs is cool, and visibly it offers more than linux
today, in the bad case.

(5)
JFSUTILS regarding cold power must be installed.

(6)
Summary:
JFS is great and I am glad that it is available to LINUX. Thank you so much.

We can open discuss about JFS if you want.

I will ssend the output that you inquire.

All the best, lot of health,

Best regards
Y.

Why those 3 disks crashed at the same time?

I hope you may help in order to clarify this bug to the whole 3 disks. I

 noone that touched this machine.

Why do you think the disks crashed? You don't provide any output from the

Bug#589023: iceweasel: SSL/X509 Certificate for 'AddTrust External CA Root' not recognized as valid

2010-07-14 Thread Frank Lin PIAT
Package: iceweasel
Version: 3.5.10-1

Hello,

When I visit https://www.gandi.net, the certificate isn't trusted/recognized.
I can reproduce the problem with https://www.comodo.com
Error title: This Connection is Untrusted
  Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer

The certificates hierarchy goes like this (notice the loop):
 www.gandi.net
  `- COMODO EV SGC CA
  `- AddTrust External CA Root
  `- UTN - DATACorp SGC
  `- AddTrust External CA Root
  `- UTN - DATACorp SGC
  `- AddTrust External CA Root
  `- (loop continues)

 www.comodo.com
  `- COMODO EV SGC CA
  `- AddTrust External CA Root
  `- UTN - DATACorp SGC
  `- AddTrust External CA Root
  `- UTN - DATACorp SGC
  `- AddTrust External CA Root
  `- (loop continues)

Other web browsers (epiphany/Deb, chrome/Deb, firefox 3.6.3/Win, Safari/Win)
and openssl's CLI don't exhibit this loop behaviour.
(I have submited a webshots session... we'll see how other browsers do
on http://browsershots.org/https://www.comodo.com/ )

The certificate AddTrust External CA Root is supposed to be
enabled/trusted on my system:
 readlink /etc/ssl/certs/AddTrust_External_Root.pem
 /usr/share/ca-certificates/mozilla/AddTrust_External_Root.crt

 # openssl x509 -noout -in
 /usr/share/ca-certificates/mozilla/AddTrust_External_Root.crt -subject
 subject= /C=SE/O=AddTrust AB/OU=AddTrust External TTP Network/CN=AddTrust
 External CA Root

And it seems valid:
 debsums ca-certificates | grep AddTrust_External_Root
 /usr/share/ca-certificates/mozilla/AddTrust_External_Root.crt OK

openssl verify -verbose
/usr/share/ca-certificates/mozilla/AddTrust_External_Root.crt
 /usr/share/ca-certificates/mozilla/AddTrust_External_Root.crt: OK

OpenSSL seems happy with it, and doesn't loop:

Bug#589024: broken initscript

2010-07-14 Thread Holger Levsen
package: pop-before-smtp
version: 1.41-1.1

Hi,

I've used pop-before-smtp successfully with etch, but it stopped processing
new logins in lenny. When I run

pop-before-smtp --debug --reprocess

manually, it works nicely, but not when I started it with the supplied
init-script.

After changing the line in initscript which starts the daemon like the
following, it works again.

# $pgm $dbfile $watchlog $logto --daemon=$pid
$pgm --debug --reprocess --logto=/var/log/pop-before-smtp
--watchlog=/var/log/mail.log --daemon=$pid

Interestingly the configfile provides those correct configurations for logto
and watchlog as well, but they are ignored. --dumpconfig also shows them.

cheers,
Holger

Bug#586532: nslcd: Configure SASL with debconf

2010-07-14 Thread Daniel Dehennin
Arthur de Jong adej...@debian.org writes:

This sounds like a good idea. I would welcome a patch for that. Thanks a
 lot for working on this.

Here is the changelog, patch based on latest svn (revno:1161):

  * debian/nslcd.templates: Add nslcd/ldap-auth-type and SASL templates.

  * debian/nslcd.config: Manage SASL questions, bindpw is shared between
binddn and sasl, it's asked just after binddn or authcid, this
complexify a little the switch case.

  * debian/nslcd.postinst: Manage SASL options, binddn and SASL disable
each other. Use 2 functions simple_auth and sasl_auth to simplify
the configuration.

NB: I added an SASL auto mechanism but I'm not sure if it's useful, feel
free to remove it, it's the default mech in the template.

Regards.

Bug#589029: cryptsetup: crypttab: please add noloud or quiet or something like that

2010-07-14 Thread Mario 'BitKoenig' Holbe
Package: cryptsetup
Version: 2:1.1.3-1
Severity: wishlist

Hello,

especially since 2:1.1.3-1 changed its behaviour to cryptdisks
initscript now raises a warning for failed started devices it would be
great to have a way to tell the initscripts something like: if the
source device exists, create the crypto mapping, if not, don't care and
don't complain about it, i.e. the inverse of the loud crypttab
option - something like quiet, nowarn, noloud or whatever you
like. This is somewhat different from noauto, where the mapping is
just never created automagically.

Btw.: If I read /lib/cryptsetup/cryptdisks.functions correctly, enabling
the loud option for one device in the current implementation enables
it for subsequent devices as well (I didn't try it, it just looks like
this).
A correct solution would probably be something like LOUD=$DEFAULT_LOUD
in parse_opts() and using DEFAULT_LOUD= in cryptdisks-early and
DEFAULT_LOUD=yes in cryptdisks.

Thanks for your work best regards

Bug#589023: iceweasel: SSL/X509 Certificate for 'AddTrust External CA Root' not recognized as valid

 Hello,

 When I visit https://www.gandi.net, the certificate isn't trusted/recognized.
I can reproduce the problem with https://www.comodo.com
Error title: This Connection is Untrusted
   Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer

Both work here.

(...)
 Other web browsers (epiphany/Deb, chrome/Deb, firefox 3.6.3/Win, Safari/Win)
and openssl's CLI don't exhibit this loop behaviour.
(I have submited a webshots session... we'll see how other browsers do
 on http://browsershots.org/https://www.comodo.com/ )

The certificate AddTrust External CA Root is supposed to be
 enabled/trusted on my system:
  readlink /etc/ssl/certs/AddTrust_External_Root.pem
  /usr/share/ca-certificates/mozilla/AddTrust_External_Root.crt

  # openssl x509 -noout -in
  /usr/share/ca-certificates/mozilla/AddTrust_External_Root.crt -subject
  subject= /C=SE/O=AddTrust AB/OU=AddTrust External TTP Network/CN=AddTrust
  External CA Root

Unfortunately, these are not used by Iceweasel/libnss3.

The interesting data point in your report, though, is that it works with
chrome/deb. Chrome, like Iceweasel, uses libnss3, though unless you
tested with chromium-browser, I'm unsure it uses the system library.

Anyways, as it works properly here, I suspect something fishy with the
certificate database in your user profile.

Can you first check if that works better if you try with a new profile
(you can use a new user account, or run iceweasel -P to create a new
profile). If so, I invite you to check in Edit Preferences Advanced
 Encryption View Certificates Authorities.

A patch for debian-edu-config moving the existing conffiles from the

location would be most welcome. This way the package do not need to
conflict or break the old package and will also work with the new

Please find attached a patch that implements what you described.
If it fits your needs, please upload the updated package.

Enventually, with pyxpcom out of the mozilla tree, it should become

Bug#589030: Should be able to merge a user-wide or system-wide configuration file

2010-07-14 Thread Pierre THIERRY
Package: ditz
Version: 0.5-1
Severity: wishlist

Currently, ditz can only use one configuration file at a time, but it
would be nice if the local configuration could be merged with a
user-wide one (as found in $HOME/.ditz-config) or a system-wide one
(/etc/ditz-config).

The problem with a single configuration file is that the name and
adress of the user have to be in it, and it defeats the purpose of
having the file tracked by version control (which is needed if you don't
use the default directory to store the bugs database).

Bug#587279: debian-policy: section 2.2.1 needs some tweaking

2010-07-14 Thread Bill Allombert
On Tue, Jun 29, 2010 at 10:31:57AM -0700, Russ Allbery wrote:
 Raphael Geissert geiss...@debian.org writes:

I see a couple of issues with the current section 2.2.1 The main
  archive area:

  a) It does not list neither Pre-Depends nor Build-depends-indep.
  b) It does not take into consideration ORed dependencies.

Point a) can be fixed by listing those two fields and maybe even toning
down the statement in parenthesis (e.g. s/thus/e.g./.)

I think we should keep the parenthetical strong since it's currently the
only place that we say that Recommends from main to non-free is not
allowed, which is otherwise not obvious.

The problematic mentioned in b) is that with the current wording one
could say that the following is not allowed for a package in main:

  Depends: package-in-main | package-in-non-free

  Real example:
  Depends: unrar-free | rar

(unrar-free is in mai, rar is in non-free.)

I'm committing the following change for the next release which differs
slightly from Raphael's in that it uses better markup for the field names
(fixing an existing minor inconsistency) and doesn't specify the first
alternative. Packages listing the non-free alternative first are probably
buggy in other ways, and if someone wants to propose wording elsewhere to
deal with that I'd probably second it, but they don't fail this particular
section because they don't require a non-free package to work.

I think this is informative, not normative, since it just clarifies the
existing requirement and doesn't change the basic requirements, so I'm
going ahead and committing this, but if anyone thinks that's too
 aggressive, do speak up.

I disagree that adding an explicit allowance for alternative is not a normative
change.

The old wording (the package must not declare a Depends, Recommends, or
Build-Depends relationship on a non-main package) is quite clear that
alternative
are not allowed.

Part of the non-free is not part of Debian deal was that Debian (main) would
not
advertize non-free software. Allowing non-free software to be listed in the
Depends/Recommends field breaks that.

In the example:
Package: foo
Depends: unrar-free | rar

rar could Provides: unrar-free
and foo would only need to Depends: unrar-free
(Or better: unrar-free would be renamed to unrar, rar to rar-nonfree and
rar-nonfree would
provide unrar)

Bug#589032: libocamlgraph: copyright file doesn't mention LGPL exception

2010-07-14 Thread Török Edwin
Package: libocamlgraph-ocaml-dev

/usr/share/doc/libocamlgraph*/copyright says this:

   © 2004-2008 Julien Signoles julien.signo...@lri.fr
License: LGPL-2

However the README and the LICENSE in source also have the usual OCaml Linking
exception:
As a special exception to the GNU Library General Public License, you
may link, statically or dynamically, a work that uses the Library
with a publicly distributed version of the Library to produce an
executable file containing portions of the Library, and distribute
that executable file under terms of your choice, without any of the
additional requirements listed in clause 6 of the GNU Library General
Public License. By a publicly distributed version of the Library, we
mean either the unmodified Library as distributed, or a
modified version of the Library that is distributed under the
conditions defined in clause 3 of the GNU Library General Public
License. This exception does not however invalidate any other reasons
why the executable file might be covered by the GNU Library General
Public License.

I think libocamlgraph should say 'LGPL-2 | other' and 'LGPL-2.1 | other' and
list the exception
as some other OCaml packages do.

Also since there are quite a few OCaml packages distributed under LGPL-2.x +
Linking exception
shouldn't that combination be listed somewhere under /usr/share/common-licenses?

2010-07-14 Thread Petter Reinholdtsen
[Mehdi Dogguy]
Please find attached a patch that implements what you described.

Thank you. :)

If it fits your needs, please upload the updated package.

I noticed you renamed the workaround for bug #586035 in the source.
Does this mean that bug is also present in the new isc-dhcp-server
package? It should be fixed. I suspect we need to keep the
workaround for the dhcp3-server package until it is fixed there too,
and thus the patch is incomplete/incorrect.

Bug#589033: redmine: Not possible to start webrick as stated in documentation

2010-07-14 Thread Torbjørn Thorsen
Package: redmine
Version: 0.9.5-1
Severity: important

I tried to follow the instructions in doc/redmine/README.Debian
to the best of my ability.

The section named QUICK LAUNCH USING WEBRICK recommends running
sudo -u www-data X_DEBIAN_SITEID=default ruby script/server webrick -e
production.

When I tried running that line, ruby exited with the following output:
= Booting WEBrick

To me it seems as if the X_DEBIAN_SITEID environment variable is never picked
up,
and the proper paths are not set.

You're right, and i can't fix this, except by properly documenting
that webrick NEEDS to be able to create those directories in
/usr/share/redmine/tmp
So :
mkdir /usr/share/redmine/tmp
chown www-data:www-data /usr/share/redmine/tmp

and relaunch webrick.
Mind that webrick is intended for quick testing only. It should not be used
for production use.
Also, it is wise to remove /usr/share/redmine/tmp once you're done testing.

I can't add that tmp/ dir in redmine package, because it is not policy
compliant.

I do not think it is possible because some debian/rules files were changed to
rely on the
new behaviour. lenny might not build correclty without that bug.

We're migrating to a situation where packages are supposed to use
dpkg-buildflags to set the flags themselves rather than having them
set by dpkg-buildpackage but until it's more widespread we keep them
  in the environment.

I'm sorry, but I disagree with this approach. It is not right to do a

I agree. This should be fixed before the archive test rebuild for squeeze are
