I have here a Squeeze 64 host that shows the same problem explained by Arto
(#599399).
I updated it to the latest updates / proposed updates yesterday (22-08-2011).

gdb CVS development version was versioned with 7.3.50~cvs20110627 which now
that there is a stable release (7.3), makes the stable release lower versioning
than the version in experimental. Maybe gdb/experimental could be removed.
