Hi Gregor,

It would be great if you could use the list of FTBFS at
http://anonscm.debian.org/viewvc/collab-qa/archive-rebuilds/
(e.g
http://anonscm.debian.org/viewvc/collab-qa/archive-rebuilds/2011-10-22-lsid64-amd64/failed.2011-10-22.txt?revision=2060view=markup)

If a package is not listed, then it doesn't FTBFS anymore for me.

Unfortunately, I'm currently very busy so I can't do it myself.

(Ccing -qa@ in case someone else want to work on that).

I first saw it in my pbuildd setup (use locally rebuilt packages as the apt

also reproduced it in a vanilla pbuilder chroot that I'd just updated.

Just in case: what kernel are you running?

Bug#647581: gnome-session-bin: gnome-session-properties does not have any menu link

2011-11-04 Thread shirish शिरीष
Package: gnome-session-bin
Version: 3.0.2-3
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,
As a user many a times I do need something like startup applications.
I know that while startup applications is no more in GNOME 3, its
replaced by gnome-session-properties. I don't seem to be able to find
it anywhere in the GNOME menu. I tried traversing through all of
System Tools Preferences System Settings as well as all of System
Settings as well as Preferences but could not find it. A google search
then revealed its now named as gnome-session-properties. With just a
command and no link in the GNOME menu that feels half-baked. While for
the self I know I could just add the entry and some icon for the same
it would be nice to have it by default somewhere in GNOME 3 menu.

Looking forward to know if I missed something.

I have added support to libicns/icns2png to recognise these types for

I've downloaded the latest SVN repository and checked this out.

Since these types are actually icons, it would be nice if icns2png could
extract them. I realise this is a corner case, but you never know what
someone will want to do with the old ICNS file they found, including
remove such types from the ICNS file using icns2png and png2icns.

 Correct.

or is there information Martin could provide to help track this down?

reproduce it with current sid, open a new bug giving all the required

why would you have open-vm installed on the host system?

 thanks

On Thu, 2011-11-03 at 11:35 +0100, Martijn van Brummelen wrote:
Is it possible to add nested group support?

Indeed, it would be nice if support for this would be available (it is
one of the features that is present in nss_ldap but missing in
 nss-pam-ldapd).

The main reason this hasn't been implemented yet is because it is
difficult to get right. Some background information on the complexities
of implementing this are available in this email thread:
   http://lists.arthurdejong.org/nss-pam-ldapd-users/2010/msg7.html

While I don't think I will be implementing this myself any time soon, if
anyone is willing to work on this I can arrange commit access to the
nss-pam-ldapd repository and provide some support.
I can offer any program help but I can offer to test if something gets ready.
Contact me when testing is needed.

Thanks.

Might be. When seeing this this morning, I was vaguely remembering
something, but being offline, I couldn't easily check (I could have
digged into my mailboxes but I was lazy...:-)). I can't check now
either as I'm offline again, but, of course, if this is a duplicate,

It is a duplicate, yes.

I can,t offer any programming help but I can offer to test if something
gets ready. Contact me when testing is needed.

Thanks.

Bug#647585: vim-gtk: gvim fails to start in KDE if ~/.gtkrc-2.0-kde is present

2011-11-04 Thread Tobias Winchen
Package: vim-gtk
Version: 2:7.3.333-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

On Debian testing I noticed yesterday that gvim hangs on start using the KDE
desktop . Abort with CTRL-C sometimes open a regular vim in konsole.

Trying to start gvim with

gvim -u NONE -U NONE -N
gvim -u NORC -U NORC -N
gvim -u NORC -U NORC --cmd 'filetype plugin indent on' -N

has no effect.
gvim starts however for a new user with fresh KDE and when using other desktops
with the same user.

After removal of ~/.gtkrc-2.0-kde gvim starts as usual. This configuration
file is created by the gtk-qt-engine.

Installing vim-gtk 2:7.3.346-1 also shows the same behavior.

Best regards,

Tobias Winchen

Bug#647587: Alpha: missing accept4 syscall

2011-11-04 Thread Michael Cree
Source: linux-2.6
Version: 3.0.0-6
Severity: Important
User: debian-al...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: alpha
X-Debbugs-CC: debian-al...@lists.debian.org

The kernel for the alpha port is missing the accept4 syscall; the
implementation, long overdue, is now in Linus' kernel as commit
0a8c384ebe4cc1c462076732dbffb595e7e81d5c.

Could we please have this cherry-picked to the 3.0.0 kernel (or the
3.1.0 kernel if that is what you plan to upload to unstable next). It
should apply without modification.

The new version of udev in unstable depends on this syscall and without
it it floods the system logs with error messages filling the disk in
short order.

Cheers
Michael.

 Hi,

As bug#582952 explains, as soon as dash stops pretending not to know
how to set the $LINENO variable, autoconf will stop rejecting it and
falling back to bash, provoking some build failures with non-portable
 configure scripts. Alas.

This has been commited already in git upstream:

If a password is configured in mpd and the password is saved in preferences,
the password is lost after gmpc is shutdown and therefore must be resaved

Hello, I can't reproduce this bug on my system with 11.8.16-1. I
assume that it has been fixed in a previous version. If you don't
experience the problem anymore, I believe that it is safe to close
this bug.

Hello,

i have a mixed network configuration where ethernet is managed by
/etc/network/interfaces and the wifi by network manager. The
problem is
that when i'm connected with the cable and network manager finds a
new
network gajim disconnects, even before i can type the password. I
won't
argue if gajim would reconnect _after_ network manager established a
new
connection but current behaviour is very annoying.

Could you open a console and run dbus-monitor to see the message that
causes Gajim to close connection?

It should be something in these messages:

no it's not, gajim disconnect when i press the cancel button of the
insert password for the network dialog, but i haven't captured the
messages, will retry.

Attached is what i get before i see the disconnected icon. Sorry to be
so confusing.

thanks,
riccardo

Hi,

hmmm no, I need messages before that. In this log, we only see Gajim
that disconnects, not the network-manager message that is sent before that.

I get these and gnome vfs related logs before the gajim presence stuff.

Bug#646377: ITP: xonotic -- a fast-paced first-person shooter

 Description: a fast-paced first-person shooter
Xonotic is a free (GPL), fast-paced first-person shooter that works
on Windows, OS X and Linux. The project is geared towards providing
addictive arena shooter gameplay which is all spawned and driven by the
community itself. Xonotic is a direct successor of the Nexuiz project with
years of development between them, and it aims to become the best possible
open-source FPS (first-person-shooter) of its kind.

Hi dear Nexuiz maintainers,

Devid filed this ITP ~2 weeks ago, and closed it some hours later. Now,
looking around for 3D FPS available for Debian, I fell on the Xonotic project,
and then on this ITP. So now I wonder: given the situation of Nexuiz (and its
Xonotic fork), are there some plans to provide Xonotic as a successor of
Nexuiz in Debian or will it (if it will) be packaged separately?

Cheers,

No problem, I file the updated de.po into the other bug. However,
given the changes I think it is better for the French translator to

it can work in the background while the user is not logged on. This allows the
user to start an extraction and disconnect from the system, letting clive

2011-11-04 Thread John Hughes

Hoho - is it possible that this is Redhat bug 652273?

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=652273

They suggest:

   Adding default_tkt_enctypes = des-cbc-md5 des-cbc-md4 des-cbc-crc
to [libdefaults] section of krb5.conf allows the mount to succeed

but that does nothing for me, maybe I am doing it wrong?

I am seeing the error:

Nov 4 11:23:29 olympic rpc.svcgssd[641]: ERROR: prepare_krb5_rfc_cfx_buffer:
not implemented
Nov 4 11:23:29 olympic rpc.svcgssd[641]: ERROR: failed serializing krb5

on the nfs4 server.

I've tried adding

default_tkt_enctypes = des-cbc-md5 des-cbc-md4 des-cbc-crc

to krb5.conf on the nfs4 server as well as the client, but that does
nothing for me either.

Bug#647591: vim: encryption set with :X is not applied by :x if there are no other changes

2011-11-04 Thread Michael Stummvoll
Package: vim
Version: 2:7.3.333-1
Severity: important

Hi,
when I open a textfile with vim and set or change the encryption with :X and
leave vim then with :x without doing any other changes, the encryption is not
applied to this file. When I change something and leave with :x or leave with
:wq without changes, the encryption is applied.

I don't think this is the expected behavior.
I marked this bug as important because it could be a security issue if a
user assumes, that his file is encrypted without rechecking that.

Greetings,
Michael

Package: yafaray-blender2.5-exporter
Version: 0.1.2~beta2.1-1

Hi Harishankar!

It's a known issue... I had to wait for blender 2.59-1 to enter sid
distribution to discover that ;-(

It seems it's related to the particolar blender revision used for the
package and its python modules usage (as you can find launching blender
from a terminal and checking the output there while enabling the
exporter). Newer revisions of blender don't have this issue.

Gotta wait for a revision bump of it to fix the issue.

I'm in contact with blender maintainer and since 2.60a version is out
now, I'm gonna wait for it to be part of debian sid to prepare a new
package revision to this not-yafaray-exporter problem.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Bug#647599: python-tastypie: Dependency on python-mimeparse needed

2011-11-04 Thread Markus Becker
Package: python-tastypie
Version: 0.9.10-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

I was trying out tastypie. It seems the package needs a dependency on
python-mimeparse.

Documentation states this as well:
http://django-tastypie.readthedocs.org/en/latest/tutorial.html#installation

At least for my simple model (created according to the tastypie tutorial) the
import of mimeparse fails:

ImportError at /api/entry/
No module named mimeparse

[...]
File /home/mab/src/external/git/tastypie/comnets/../comnets/api.py in module
  2. from tastypie.resources import ModelResource
File /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/tastypie/resources.py in module
  21. from tastypie.utils.mime import determine_format, build_content_type
File /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/tastypie/utils/mime.py in module
  1. import mimeparse

python-mimeparse seems to be only available on mentors:
http://mentors.debian.net/package/python-mimeparse

The ITP:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=647162

Other dependencies to add:
python-django
python-dateutil

Probable suggests:
python-yaml
python-lxml

uuid dependency seems to be satisfied by python = 2.6.6-7~

Thanks,
Markus

Bug#647600: PS1=\\W reports pocc for /proc

2011-11-04 Thread Trent W. Buck
Package: bash
Version: 4.1-3
Severity: minor
File: /bin/bash

I noticed a strange thing on my laptop:

root@dali:~# PS1=\\W
~cd /proc
pocc

For some reason the \W of /proc is reported as pocc; \w is reported
correctly (as /proc) and other paths (e.g. /usr) are reported
correctly. This behaviour is reproducible both as my user (who has
dotfiles) and as root (who has none).

I can't reproduce this on a similarly configured KVM VM that is
running mostly wheezy, whereas my laptop is mostly sid.

I have no idea what's going on, but I'm very curious.
Can you suggest any diagnostics I can try?
If not, I suppose just tag + moreinfo and close/wontfix.

By the way, it seems fixed in 1.0.4-1, could you check and report back?

the update Valéry is providing in a few days. So I ask if it could be
possible, once Valéry has sent her updates, to roll a 0.9.8 (or a

Thanks!

Bug#647603: extlinux: hangs during boot with kernels 3.0.0, 3.1.0

2011-11-04 Thread Zlatko Calusic
Package: extlinux
Version: 2:4.04+dfsg-7
Severity: normal

Just compiled 3.1.0 kernel, installed it (with make install as
/boot/vmlinuz-3.1.0), run extlinux-update, but after trying to boot it
with extlinux, it just hangs. :(

It looks like this: http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/6703/extlinuxhang.jpg

Now, I remember I had the exact same problem with 3.0.0. It looks like
as long as the kernel version finishes with a zero (0), extlinux can't
boot it.

Workaround: I simply renamed vmlinuz-3.1.0 to vmlinuz-3.1 and now
extlinux boots the very same kernel properly.

empathy has a missing dependency on this package.

Well this is not a empathy issue, but looks more a libcanberra one.

Do you know if libcanberra-gtk-module has ever be installed on your
machine? Actually this could have been some leftover files in /etc
when you previously removed the package (without purging it). This
problem has been addressed in 0.28-3.

Thanks

I am running unstable with the lastest version of xserver-xorg-core.

In order to test I rebuilt the packages by removing the depends
on old xorg-video-abi-* versions and setting the xserver-xorg-core
depends to be unversioned. Clearly this ABI change is (at least part of)
the problem.

It's a shame because this means, among other things, that we cannot
enjoy Gnome 3 completely.

Bug#647225: texlive-lang-cyrillic: missing font declaration for T2A/aer

2011-11-04 Thread developers

Further I'm not 100% sure if ae is really still needed in times of
latin modern and cm super. Ralf, are you still on the list? Can you
help here?

Catching up ... Given Latin Modern, ae is obsolete from my point of
view. Actually the above example uses Latin Modern fonts in the end.

I'm sorry I really don't know anything about Texlive fonts. Does this
mean that the best solution would be to incite the author of Songwrite
to use a more modern font? In this case which one?

Cheers,

Dear Debian-Maintainers,

the Problem I found is in this line:

env_path=/bin:/usr/bin

I changed it to:

env_path=/bin:/usr/bin as /usr/bin is not in the environment of the
PHP-Script if it is not escaped with double quotes.

This causes problems if I try to exec binaries like convert or other binaries
in /usr/bin.

Hello,

i have a mixed network configuration where ethernet is managed by
/etc/network/interfaces and the wifi by network manager. The
problem is
that when i'm connected with the cable and network manager finds a
new
network gajim disconnects, even before i can type the password. I
won't
argue if gajim would reconnect _after_ network manager established a
new
connection but current behaviour is very annoying.

In this log, we only see Gajim
that disconnects, not the network-manager message that is sent before
that.

I get these and gnome vfs related logs before the gajim presence stuff.

we don't listen for gnome vfs messages, it should be a network manager
message with interface=org.freedesktop.NetworkManager

Bug#647605: flexml: Variables defined in header

2011-11-04 Thread Arnaud Giersch
Package: flexml
Version: 1.9.1-1
Severity: normal

Hi,

Since version 1.9, the new internal variables (*_isset) are defined in
header file, instead of being simply declared there.

This leads to errors at link time, about multiple definition of
`variable' (the errors may only occur when compiling with -fno-common).

With the following patch, these variables are declared with extern in
the header, and defined in the main file.

Regards,

Arnaud

Chapter 5, to use the vocabulary of RFC 2119
 (http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2119.txt)
 where applicable.

I am presenting my proposition as a patch for the words that change, and as a
serie of extracts centered on the words that do not change.

In most cases the change is a capitalisation, but in a few cases the words
themselves change, where for instance ‘may (not)’ becomes ‘MUST (NOT)’. I
focused on the key words defined by the RFC, with the exception of
 ‘mandatory’,
which I propose to change to ‘REQUIRED’ as it was used in the context other
‘RECOMMENDED’ key words. I also propose to change a ‘must never’ to ‘MUST
 NOT’.

I also made sure that ‘MUST NOT’ and ‘SHOULD NOT’ are never interrupted by a
new line, to facilitate searches in the source document.

I would suggest we use entities instead of hard-coding 'MUST NOT/SHOULD NOT'.
This way it will be easier to generate policy document with the lower case
variant for people who cannot read uppercase words.

my code blocks forever, waiting for image data which are not coming.

This happens when i do use libvirt from python as a library, and also
when i use command
'virsh screenshot domain', which should fetch domain screenshot and save
it into file.

Some people on #virsh irc channel told me that its working on other
systems,
one of them confirmed that his sid machine also doesnt work well. This
might mean its a packaging issue...

I was not able to fully identify reason for this failure, as the python
code is waiting forever for some C library...
When i was testing following code, the problem occurs in last line:
stream.recvAll(handler, fd)

(it never calls the handler, just waiting forever)

Bug#646149: gnome-settings-daemon: Warning messages in user .xsession-errors log file

2011-11-04 Thread Jonathan Dray
Hi,

I read the gnome session documentation and got it working !

The issue was with the configuration of applications to launch at session
stratup in the user configuration directory : .config/autostart
I had a gnome-shell.desktop file (that I created a while ago) to run the
gnome-session --replace command. It was disabled in gnome2 configuration
but was executed when a gnome3 session was starting. gnome-shell was
starting twice leading to an unusable desktop environment.

I removed all the files in the autostart directory except conky
configuration. Now gnome-session and gnome-shell works fine.
I hope this helps.

Regards,
Jonathan Dray

Bug#647607: live-build: binary_hdd partition size needs some thought

2011-11-04 Thread Neil Wilson
Package: live-build
Version: 3.0~a24-1ubuntu17
Severity: normal

In binary_hdd the partition is created with size '0.0 100%'. On a
msdos partition table this will make the installation of bootloaders
problematic, and on GPT partitions lots of fun. Parted can be a bit dumb
depending on the version.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BIOS_Boot_partition
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GUID_Partition_Table

Other partition2disk systems leave at least 64 sectors at the beginning
of the disk for msdos partitions. guestfs leaves 64 512 byte sectors
front and back as GPT backs up at the end of the disk.

The 'mkpart' size spec I use is '64s -65s' which aligns with 4K page
sizes as well and seems to give maximum compatibility over time without
wasting too much space on smaller image sizes.

Newer versions of parted will align properly if you use '0% 100%' -
which leaves 2048 sectors at the front of the disk and 2015 sectors at
the back with a gpt table.

Bug#647608: po4a: Quote signs in C are not correctly translated (at least in German)

2011-11-04 Thread Helge Kreutzmann
Package: po4a
Version: 0.41-1
Severity: normal

While working on the German man page translation for po4a, I noticed
that C is not translated correctly. Take, e.g.,

#. type: textblock
#: lib/Locale/Po4a/Sgml.pm:144
msgid
The problem is that I have to \protect\ the conditional inclusions (i.e.
the CElt! [ %foo [ and C]]Egt stuff) from nsgmls. Otherwise nsgmls
eats them, and I don't know how to restore them in the final document. To
prevent that, I rewrite them to C{PO4A-beg-foo} and C{PO4A-end}.
msgstr

The version as shown by man is as follows:
Das Problem liegt darin, dass ich die bedingte Einbindung (d.h. das
Zeug ! [ %foo [ und ]]) vor Nsgmls »schützen« muss. Andernfalls futtert
Nsgmls das auf und ich weiß nicht, wie
ich das im letztendlichen Dokument wieder herstellen kann. Um das zu
vermeiden, schreibe ich sie in {PO4A-beg-foo} und {PO4A-end} um.

The first (manual) quote around protect is manually translated and
looks fine (i.e. »«). The strings with C, however, retain their
characters as is (which are neither quotes in English nor in German).

A side issue (though not part of this bug): What are the rules for
manual quotes vs. C?

Bug#647614: CVE-2011-3640

2011-11-04 Thread Moritz Muehlenhoff
Package: nss
Severity: normal
Tags: security

Hi,
the following bug has been reported for NSS:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=CVE-2011-3640

While this doesn't warrant a DSA on it's own, we could fix it
along with the next NSS DSA (probably for the CA compromise
of the day?:
http://blog.mozilla.com/security/2011/11/03/revoking-trust-in-digicert-sdn-bhd-intermediate-certificate-authority/
 )

Cheers,
