Bug#647581: gnome-session-bin: gnome-session-properties does not have any menu link
Package: gnome-session-bin Version: 3.0.2-3 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, As a user many a times I do need something like startup applications. I know that while startup applications is no more in GNOME 3, its replaced by gnome-session-properties. I don't seem to be able to find it anywhere in the GNOME menu. I tried traversing through all of System Tools Preferences System Settings as well as all of System Settings as well as Preferences but could not find it. A google search then revealed its now named as gnome-session-properties. With just a command and no link in the GNOME menu that feels half-baked. While for the self I know I could just add the entry and some icon for the same it would be nice to have it by default somewhere in GNOME 3 menu. I have added support to libicns/icns2png to recognise these types for what they are, but not to parse them. Is this sufficient? I've downloaded the latest SVN repository and checked this out. Since these types are actually icons, it would be nice if icns2png could extract them. I realise this is a corner case, but you never know what someone will want to do with the old ICNS file they found, including remove such types from the ICNS file using icns2png and png2icns. Bug#647585: vim-gtk: gvim fails to start in KDE if ~/.gtkrc-2.0-kde is present
Package: vim-gtk Version: 2:7.3.333-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, On Debian testing I noticed yesterday that gvim hangs on start using the KDE desktop . Abort with CTRL-C sometimes open a regular vim in konsole. Trying to start gvim with gvim -u NONE -U NONE -N gvim -u NORC -U NORC -N gvim -u NORC -U NORC --cmd 'filetype plugin indent on' -N has no effect. gvim starts however for a new user with fresh KDE and when using other desktops with the same user. After removal of ~/.gtkrc-2.0-kde gvim starts as usual. This configuration file is created by the gtk-qt-engine. Installing vim-gtk 2:7.3.346-1 also shows the same behavior. Bug#647587: Alpha: missing accept4 syscall

Could we please have this cherry-picked to the 3.0.0 kernel (or the 3.1.0 kernel if that is what you plan to upload to unstable next). It should apply without modification. The new version of udev in unstable depends on this syscall and without it it floods the system logs with error messages filling the disk in short order. Bug#647600: PS1=\\W reports pocc for /proc
Package: bash Version: 4.1-3 Severity: minor File: /bin/bash I noticed a strange thing on my laptop: root@dali:~# PS1=\\W ~cd /proc pocc For some reason the \W of /proc is reported as pocc; \w is reported correctly (as /proc) and other paths (e.g. /usr) are reported correctly. I can't reproduce this on a similarly configured KVM VM that is running mostly wheezy, whereas my laptop is mostly sid. I have no idea what's going on, but I'm very curious. Given Latin Modern, ae is obsolete from my point of view. Actually the above example uses Latin Modern fonts in the end. I'm sorry I really don't know anything about Texlive fonts. Bug#647605: flexml: Variables defined in header

I am presenting my proposition as a patch for the words that change, and as a serie of extracts centered on the words that do not change. In most cases the change is a capitalisation, but in a few cases the words themselves change, where for instance ‘may (not)’ becomes ‘MUST (NOT)’. I focused on the key words defined by the RFC, with the exception of ‘mandatory’, which I propose to change to ‘REQUIRED’ as it was used in the context other ‘RECOMMENDED’ key words. I also propose to change a ‘must never’ to ‘MUST NOT’. I also made sure that ‘MUST NOT’ and ‘SHOULD NOT’ are never interrupted by a new line, to facilitate searches in the source document. I would suggest we use entities instead of hard-coding 'MUST NOT/SHOULD NOT'. This way it will be easier to generate policy document with the lower case variant for people who cannot read uppercase words. Hi, I read the gnome session documentation and got it working ! The issue was with the configuration of applications to launch at session stratup in the user configuration directory : .config/autostart I had a gnome-shell.desktop file (that I created a while ago) to run the gnome-session --replace command. It was disabled in gnome2 configuration but was executed when a gnome3 session was starting. gnome-shell was starting twice leading to an unusable desktop environment. I removed all the files in the autostart directory except conky configuration. Now gnome-session and gnome-shell works fine. I hope this helps. Regards, Jonathan Dray

Bug#647607: live-build: binary_hdd partition size needs some thought
Package: live-build Version: 3.0~a24-1ubuntu17 Severity: normal In binary_hdd the partition is created with size '0.0 100%'. On a msdos partition table this will make the installation of bootloaders problematic, and on GPT partitions lots of fun. Parted can be a bit dumb depending on the version. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BIOS_Boot_partition http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GUID_Partition_Table Other partition2disk systems leave at least 64 sectors at the beginning of the disk for msdos partitions. guestfs leaves 64 512 byte sectors front and back as GPT backs up at the end of the disk. The 'mkpart' size spec I use is '64s -65s' which aligns with 4K page sizes as well and seems to give maximum compatibility over time without wasting too much space on smaller image sizes. Newer versions of parted will align properly if you use '0% 100%' - which leaves 2048 sectors at the front of the disk and 2015 sectors at the back with a gpt table. -- Package-specific info: -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers oneiric-updates APT policy: (500, 'oneiric-updates'), (500, 'oneiric-security'), (500, 'oneiric') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.0.0-12-virtual (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages live-build depends on: ii cdebootstrap0.5.7ubuntu2 Bootstrap a Debian system ii debootstrap 1.0.37 Bootstrap a basic Debian system Versions of packages live-build recommends: ii cpio 2.11-7ubuntu1 GNU cpio -- a program to manage ar ii gettext-base 0.18.1.1-3ubuntu1 GNU Internationalization utilities Versions of packages live-build suggests: ii dosfstools 3.0.9-1ubuntu3 utilities for making and checking pn genisoimage none (no description available) pn gnu-fdisk none (no description available) ii memtest86+ 4.20-1ubuntu1thorough real-mode memory tester pn mtools none (no description available) ii parted 2.3-6ubuntu3 disk partition manipulator pn squashfs-tools | mtd-to none (no description available) ii sudo1.7.4p6-1ubuntu2 Provide limited super user privile pn syslinux | grub none (no description available) ii uuid-runtime2.19.1-2ubuntu3 runtime components for the Univers pn win32-loadernone (no description available) -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Um das zu vermeiden, schreibe ich sie in C{PO4A-beg-foo} und C{PO4A-end} um. The version as shown by man is as follows: Das Problem liegt darin, dass ich die bedingte Einbindung (d.h. das Zeug ! The first (manual) quote around protect is manually translated and looks fine (i.e. »«). The strings with C, however, retain their characters as is (which are neither quotes in English nor in German).
