I observe the same behaviour here with evince-gtk 3.4.0-3.1 using postscript drivers (and CUPS) for a lexmark C772n and a lexmark E310 printer. In the case of the lexmark which has a duplexer, the pages come out single sided, even though duplexing normally works (and is selected in this case).
