Bug#1037282: opensnitch-ebpf-modules: causes opensnitch daemon to crash (SIGSEGV)

2023-06-09 Thread Paul Wise
Package: opensnitch-ebpf-modules
Version: 1.5.9-1
Severity: important
Usertags: crash
Control: found -1 1.5.9-2

When starting the opensnitch service while opensnitch-ebpf-modules is
installed, the opensnitch daemon crashes with the SIGSEGV error below.

This does not happen with the eBPF modules not installed and proc used.

I didn't provide a full backtrace because I'm not familiar with how to
get Golang programs to do a core dump nor how to get a backtrace.

Bug#1037281: Please add support for MediaTek MT7986 in U-Boot

2023-06-09 Thread Bernhard
Package: src:u-boot
Severity: wishlist

Hello Vagrant

I'm interested in the Router BANANA Pi R3 from Sinovoip:
https://wiki.banana-pi.org/Banana_Pi_BPI-R3

This Banana Pi has MediaTek MT7986 (Filogic 830).

Is it possible, to support this SoC within U-Boot?
In case you say, YES, I intend to buy this new BananaPi R3 Router.

Best regards and thank you for your great support
Bernhard

Bug#1037280: simstring: reproducible-builds: Embedded build path and usrmerge paths in example Makefile

2023-06-09 Thread Vagrant Cascadian
Source: simstring
Severity: normal
Tags: patch
User: reproducible-bui...@lists.alioth.debian.org
Usertags: buildpath usrmerge
X-Debbugs-Cc: reproducible-b...@lists.alioth.debian.org

The build path and various binary paths are embedded in
/usr/share/doc/simstring-dev/examples/sample/Makefile.gz:

https://tests.reproducible-builds.org/debian/rb-pkg/unstable/amd64/diffoscope-results/simstring.html

  ACLOCAL·=·${SHELL}·/build/1st/simstring-1.0/missing·--run·aclocal-1.11

  EGREP·=·/bin/grep·-E
  vs.
  EGREP·=·/usr/bin/grep·-E

The attached patch fixes this by removing the example Makefile, which
would have to be regenerated anyways to match the running system.

If removing the example Makefile is not viable, it might be possible to
sanitize the build paths, and add relevent arguments to configure
(e.g. EGREP='/bin/grep -e') to use the specified paths.

According to my local tests, with this patch applied simstring should build
reproducibly on tests.reproducible-builds.org!

Thanks for maintaining simstring!

Bug#1037279: Angelfish built-in ad blocker not built due to missing Rust Build-Depends (Corrosion etc.)

2023-06-09 Thread Kevin Kofler

Package: angelfish
Version: 22.11-1+b2

Angelfish has a built-in ad blocker based on the Rust adblock crate from
the Brave developers. This feature is missing from the Debian package
because Corrosion and other build-time dependencies are not Build-Depended.
(They may need to be added to Debian first.)

Just check your build logs, e.g.:
https://buildd.debian.org/status/fetch.php?pkg=angelfish=arm64=22.11-1%2Bb2=1679750090=0

Actual Results:

-- The following RECOMMENDED packages have not been found:

 * Corrosion, CMake scripts to seamlessly build and link to targets using cargo,

Required to build the builtin adblocker

Expected Results:
The ad blocker is built.

In addition to Corrosion, you will need cargo (though Corrosion should
already be requiring it), rust-adblock, rust-cxx-build, and rust-cxx. You
may also need to hack things up so that it can build offline.

See also https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2213926 for the exact
same issue in the Fedora package.

No, systemd does not set up a fake MAC address. Rather, the MAC
address of any PHY attached to the bridge is used if no MAC address is
specified.

Justification: TC resolution #994388
Tags: patch

The path to perl is embedded differently in /usr/bin/cli-generate
depending on if it was built on a usrmerge vs. non-usrmerge system.

  /usr/bin/cli-generate

The attached patch fixes this by explicitly specifying the path as

compatible with both usrmerge and non-usrmerge systems.

Using 'which' to detect the path to perl may result in /bin/perl,
which is only typically available on usrmerge systems. /usr/bin/perl

unlikely to change.

Bug#1037272: gbrowse: reproducible builds: random value in /etc/gbrowse/ConfigData.pm

2023-06-09 Thread Vagrant Cascadian
Source: gbrowse
Severity: normal
Tags: patch
User: reproducible-bui...@lists.alioth.debian.org
Usertags: randomness
X-Debbugs-Cc: reproducible-b...@lists.alioth.debian.org

The OpenIDConsumerSecret in /etc/gbrowse/ConfigData.pm is a randomized value:

https://tests.reproducible-builds.org/debian/rb-pkg/bookworm/amd64/diffoscope-results/gbrowse.html

  'OpenIDConsumerSecret'·=>·'867318970136679',
  vs.
  'OpenIDConsumerSecret'·=>·'940203427089713',

The attached patch to Build.PL fixes this by initializing the random
seed using the SOURCE_DATE_EPOCH environment variable.

If this is really a secret, all debian users using the same package will
share the same secret, so there may be some security implications!

A better approach might be to generate this value at run time or package
installation time, but I do not know enough about how gbrowse uses this
to propose a specific approach.

Unfortunately, this is not the only reproducibility issue affecting
gbrowse, but applying this patch should make it easier to troubleshoot
the remaining issues.

Thanks for maintaining gbrowse!

Bug#1037269: freetds: reproducible-builds: time derived build number embedded in documentation

2023-06-09 Thread Vagrant Cascadian
Source: freetds
Severity: normal
Tags: patch
User: reproducible-bui...@lists.alioth.debian.org
Usertags: timestamps
X-Debbugs-Cc: reproducible-b...@lists.alioth.debian.org

A build number derived from the build time is embedded in various
/usr/share/doc/freetds-doc/reference/*_source.html files:

https://tests.reproducible-builds.org/debian/rb-pkg/bookworm/amd64/diffoscope-results/freetds.html

  #define·TDS_VERSION_BUILD_NUMBER·856
  vs.
  #define·TDS_VERSION_BUILD_NUMBER·1256

The attached patch to configure.ac fixes this by instead using the value of
SOURCE_DATE_EPOCH for the BUILD_NUMBER if it is set, and falling back to
the default behavior if it is not set.

Alternately, I tried instead passing --date=@$SOURCE_DATE_EPOCH to the
various date calls, but for some reason that was not sufficient.

According to my local tests, with this patch applied freetds should build
reproducibly on tests.reproducible-builds.org!

Thanks for maintaining freetds!

Bug#1037268: kwin-x11: resource leak: the number of threads increases over time, boundlessly

2023-06-09 Thread Julien Muchembled
Package: kwin-x11
Version: 4:5.27.5-3
Severity: normal
Tags: upstream

After 17 days, the number of threads of /usr/bin/kwin_x11 process has exceeded
2700 and it keeps increasing. At the beginning of a session, the process starts
with 34 threads.

I could find that such leak happens when viewing videos fullscreen e.g. with
mpv. Can anyone reproduce it ? More precisely:
1. start mpv without --fs -> thread count does not change
2. switch to fullscreen -> usually -2 threads
3. leaves fullscreen -> usually +17 threads
4. exit mpv -> thread count does not change

Such a leak is at least a severe issue for anyone like me who set a nproc limit
to protect against fork-bombs, in particular because it causes mysterious
process crashes. I only understood the problem when I wanted to build a
software that spawned a lot of processes. It also makes nproc limiting quite
unusable without restarting KDE from time to time.

Version 4:5.27.2-2 was affected too. I previously had 4:5.24.4-1 and I'm almost
sure it had no leak.

A few notes that may be specific to my setup:
- I do have a 4k intel display. And regularly, for less than 1s, the display is
corrupted. I haven't tried Wayland yet and I hope it will fix it.
- I use mpv from deb-multimedia.
- mpv conf: vo = gpu

I couldn't find anything on bug.kde.org: should I forward ?

Bug#1037267: kawari8: reproducible-builds: timezone-dependent timestamps on files in documentation files

2023-06-09 Thread Vagrant Cascadian
Source: kawari8
Severity: normal
Tags: patch
User: reproducible-bui...@lists.alioth.debian.org
Usertags: timestamps timezone
X-Debbugs-Cc: reproducible-b...@lists.alioth.debian.org

The build timestamp is embedded in various /usr/share/doc/kawari8/ files
is timezone dependent:

https://tests.reproducible-builds.org/debian/rb-pkg/bookworm/amd64/diffoscope-results/kawari8.html

-rw-r--r--···0·root·(0)·root·(0)12246·2002-06-04·10:07:44.00·./usr/share/doc/kawari8/html/banners/kawalinks.png

The attached patch to debian/rules fixes this by exporting the TZ
variable with the UTC timezone, as part of the build process unzips the
upstream .zip file, which sets the timestamps using the local timezone.

Another option might be to switch to using dpkg-source format 3.0 quilt,
debhelper/dh, and repacking the upstream .zip file into an .orig.tar.*
file using uscan and debian/watch. This probably has numerous other
benefits as well...

According to my local tests, with this patch applied kawari8 should build
reproducibly on tests.reproducible-builds.org!

Thanks for maintaining kawari8!

I think this is important enough to warrant an entry in the release
notes. I started working on something to that effect here:

https://salsa.debian.org/ddp-team/release-notes/-/merge_requests/194

Hopefully that makes sense here?

Let's close this unblock request, as mentioned already on the mail to
team@s.d.o we can go trough bookworm-security. Only think to be
careful here is the used verison, as 8.2.7-1 will go to unstable, for
bookworm-security we would have 8.2.7-1~deb12u1 (as this is just a
rebuild of the version, if on the other hand the packaging would have
diverged and importing a new upstream version on top, then it would
have been 8.2.7-0+deb12u1).

The purpose of my question is to make sure the project understand the

Debian for the duration of Debian 12 Bookworm, and not be surprised by
the need to keep it working and secure for some years to come.

Bug#568834: First stab at functionality for copying files

2023-06-09 Thread Benj. Mako Hill
Greetings!

This is just a followup to say that I've been using the patch for
about two years now and have not noticed any trouble. I use the
copying files functionality in vidir nearly every day!

If someone wants to take a more active role in maintaince and needs a
hand, let me know.

Thanks for the report. Yes, I think it makes sense to add
gstreamer1.0-plugins-bad as a Recommends. I'll do that in the next upload.

Bug#1037258: curl -I (HEAD request) fails with HTTP/2 against a Debian Apache instance

2023-06-09 Thread Ian Jackson
For the record: this bug caused `dgit clone dgit` to fail. That
aspect of the problem has been worked around by forcing that host to
use HTTP/1 only. ([rt.debian.org #9218]).

This also means that the repro in this bug report won't work any more,
I'm afraid.

ITPs are non-feudal. Especially without a response after months, it's
perfectly fine to take over.

I would suggest pushing your stuff to salsa or somewhere in any case, so
that if you get tired or not there yet, people can pick up from where
you were. :)

Re the team, people are busy, don't expect things to magically fix
themselves. If you see something to fix and have cycles to fix it, do
it.

I’ve already reached to the security team, so I guess we’ll handle it there. I

Sorry, but this is really about 1 week too late (we are in the quite
periode to prepare for tomorrow). From last weekend on security issues
are handled by the security team. Otherwise you can prepare a point
release update, but that's handled with different usertags and meta data.

Bug#680619: nullmailer: dpkg-reconfigure corrupts IPv6 zone index in "remotes"

2023-06-09 Thread Jörg Mechnich

Pretty sure the following contraption in the postinst script is responsible:

36 echo "$RET" | sed -r -e ':a s/(\[[^]:]*):/\1=/; ta' \
37 -e
's/[[:space:]]*:[[:space:]]*/\n/g' \
38 -e ':b s/(\[[^]=]*)=/\1:/; tb' \
39 -e 's/[][]//g' >

Unfortunately I am not completely sure what happens here (and what could
possibly removed or fixed).

Please unblock package php8.2

Hi,

php8.2 8.2.7-1 is a security release, so it would be pretty
wrong to release bookworm with the old PHP. I am sorry for
the timing, but that's just coincidence.

[ Reason ]
This is in line with previous request as discussed in #1033492
and sanctioned by security team.

[ Impact ]
Releasing Debian bookworm with known security vulnerability.

[ Tests ]
There's autopkg tests and people are also using this already since yesterday
from my PPAs that usually has hundred thousands of users.

[ Risks ]
(Discussion of the risks involved. E.g. code is trivial or
complex, key package vs leaf package, alternatives available.)

[ Checklist ]
[x] all changes are documented in the d/changelog
[x] I reviewed all changes and I approve them
[x] attach debdiff against the package in testing

[ Other info ]
The package itself is building right now and will be uploaded in hour or so.

2023-06-09 Thread Frédéric Loyer
Yes, systemd was installed. It was a Debian installed from scratch in
version 11 from the available Linux templates of my cloud provider.

I have installed Apache, MariaDB, PHP which is required for vBulletin
(installed manually, no package). And some other tools which should not
have an impact on MariaDB. I guess the system is quite standard.

I was able to reproduce the bug building from the upstream repo, ran a
bisect and found that the following commit seems to have fixed the
issue:

744dcf22fac6cf12a9112df106b61864982afef9 is the first fixed commit
commit 744dcf22fac6cf12a9112df106b61864982afef9
Author: Stefan Eissing
Date: Thu Mar 30 12:13:49 2023 +0200

http2: flow control and buffer improvements

- use bufq for send/receive of network data
- usd bufq for send/receive of stream data
- use HTTP/2 flow control with no-auto updates to control the
amount of data we are buffering for a stream
HTTP/2 stream window set to 128K after local tests, defined
  code constant for now
- elminiating PAUSEing nghttp2 processing when receiving data
since a stream can now take in all DATA nghttp2 forwards

Improved scorecard and adjuste http2 stream window sizes
- scorecard improved output formatting and options default
- scorecard now also benchmarks small requests / second

Closes #10771

There are a few problems, though:

- The commit is long and seems to introduce unrelated changes. In fact,
it's just an "overhaul" commit, so the fix apparently happened "by
  chance".

- According to
  https://github.com/curl/curl/pull/10771#issuecomment-1491200728, the
commit might have introduce other problems.

I don't fully understand the question.
But we still support LinuxCNC 2.8 on Ubuntu 12.04 so I don't think
that there is any question that we are in it for the long haul.

syndication-domination is a Python 3 library for parsing RSS and ATOM feeds.

This package will be maintained by the Debian Python team. Packaging is at

It is a required dependency for newer versions of the GNOME Feeds app.

There are C++ header files but the upstream installer does not install
them. Since nothing in Debian is using them, I am only packaging the
Python3 library at this time.

Is the linuxcnc community prepared to support the linuxcnc edition
currently in Debian Bullseye for 3-4 years? In other words, willing and
able to fix any security issues or other fatal problems with the package
in a timely maner?

I willing to put some effort into this.

The current version of LinuxCNC in Debian is a pre-release
("2.9.0~pre1..."). Many new fixes have gone in to our 2.9 branch since
that upstream tarball was made, and undoubtedly more patches will come
over the 3-4 years that Bookworm will be active.

What is Debian's policy for how we are to fix problems with our package
in the Debian stable release, specifically: when is it ok to update the
upstream tarball to a newer 2.9 snapshot vs when must we backport
specific bugfix commits and place them in debian/patches?

Can you attach the full log as an attachment?

The current short log does not show what apt told you in the beginning
about what it plans to do, nor can I see if mariadb-client-10.5 was
uninstalled or what happened.

But it did at least hit a bug where the uninstall fails on
`invoke-rd.c stop mariadb` failing.

Is your system running systemd? What can you tell about the environment?

No idea, I couldn’t fine any local configuration that would enable this on my

Bug#1037255: lsd: should recommend fonts-font-awesome

2023-06-09 Thread Holger Levsen
Package: lsd
Version: 0.23.1-3
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

thank you for packaging lsd. Unfortunatly on some systems I tested it it doesn't
render icons correctly, which is due to missing fonts. So please make lsd
recommend fonts-font-awesome, which at least makes sure that these common
directory names show correct icons:

$ lsd
 Desktop  Documents  Downloads  Music  Pictures  Public  Templates
  Videos

With fonts-font-awesome installed, I can see icons for all of these, except the
Downloads folder, where only F498 is shown to me. So this needs another
fonts package recommended...

Please excuse filing this bug without attaching a screenshot...

2023-06-09 Thread Frédéric Loyer

Hi,

I have just upgraded Debian from 11 to 12, and its mariadb-server. The
command was simply "apt full-upgrade".

I have get the #1035949 bug even if I havn't the zoph package, nor
default-mysql-server.

I didn't manage to make it works with:

# apt --fix-broken install mariadb-client

However, I could continue the installation by killing the mariadb-server
process, then the "apt install mariadb-server" didn't have to stop the
server and can install successfully the mariadb-server.

Bug#1037254: extrepo apt-transport-tor and onion support

2023-06-09 Thread Patrick Schleizer

Package: extrepo
Severity: wishlist

Dear maintainer,

- most clearnet repositories are reachable over Tor. This is simple to
accomplish by using the apt-transport-tor package (in
packages.debian.org for a long time already) by using the tor+https
syntax in sources.list.

- More and more repositories offer alter alternative onions domains.
Even Debian's official deb.debian.org as an alternative onion domain.
https://onion.debian.org/

feature request:

Could you please add a feature to use either tor+https or tor+...onion?

The following options are already supported:

sudo extrepo enable whonix
sudo extrepo enable whonix_proposed
sudo extrepo enable whonix_testers
sudo extrepo enable whonix_developers

I am not sure how alternative onions option could be selected. In
/etc/extrepo/config.yaml to set this globally would be handy. However,
some repositories might have (temporarily) broken onions. Therefore a
--onion command line option would be handy. This should fail if the
repositories doesn't have an onion in its corresponding data file.

Kind regards,
Patrick

Bug#1037253: ITP: python-inject -- Python dependency injection framework

2023-06-09 Thread Edward Betts
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Edward Betts
X-Debbugs-Cc: debian-de...@lists.debian.org, debian-pyt...@lists.debian.org

* Package name: python-inject
  Version : 4.3.1
  Upstream Author : Ivan Korobkov
* URL : https://github.com/ivankorobkov/python-inject
* License : Apache-2.0
  Programming Lang: Python
Description : Python dependency injection framework

The inject package is a Python library that provides a lightweight dependency
injection framework. It simplifies the management of dependencies in your
Python projects, allowing for decoupled and modular code design.
  .
  Features:
  .
   - Facilitates the injection of dependencies into Python classes and
 functions.
   - Supports various dependency injection patterns, including constructor
 injection and attribute injection.
   - Allows for the configuration of dependency bindings and scopes.
   - Promotes code reusability, testability, and maintainability through loose
 coupling.
   - Supports both runtime and compile-time dependency injection.
   - Provides integration with popular frameworks and tools.
  .
Dependency injection is a powerful design pattern that helps manage complex
dependencies between components. The inject library offers an elegant and
straightforward way to implement dependency injection in Python, promoting
better separation of concerns and easier unit testing.

I plan to maintain this package as part of the Python team.

Bug#1037252: golang-github-smallstep-cli: provide a binary package containing the step-cli executable

2023-06-09 Thread Drew Parsons
Source: golang-github-smallstep-cli
Version: 0.15.16+ds-3
Severity: important
X-Debbugs-Cc: debian...@lists.debian.org

Currently golang-github-smallstep-cli only provides the source code
(golang-github-smallstep-cli-dev package) for use when building other
packages.

But the upstream smallstep-cli code builds a binary executable (either
bin/step or bin/step-cli). Perhaps this is new in more recent upstream
releases, the toplevel Makefile is now quite different.

This executable has started to be required for two-factor
authentication enabling access of some HPC computational facilities,
so it's important for archive integrity to have it build for Debian
rather than grabbing prebuilt executables such as those provided at
https://github.com/smallstep/cli/releases/tag/v0.24.4

Can src:golang-github-smallstep-cli please now start providing the cli
binary executable?

I think the binary package should be called smallstep-cli (or maybe
step-cli) but you might have your own preferred naming policy.

Bug#1037238: debian-installer: separate /usr ruins opening a shell in rescue

2023-06-09 Thread Pascal Hambourg

and run a chroot to change a password I've forgotten, because I use a separate
usr partition,

work.

Rescue mode does not "think" anything about any partition. It is up to
the user to select the proper root partition, although I admit this
might be improved by providing more information about available
partitions to the user.

With /usr-merged layout (default since buster IIRC), a separate /usr
must be mounted before running any program. The initramfs mounts a
separate /usr before running init, but the installer rescue mode did not
before running a shell. This feature has been added to bookworm
installer (rescue 1.86) but not backported to bullseye installer AFAIK.

My suggestion is, if a user wants a separate usr, to place a hidden flag file
in root, the presence of which
informs the system to mount THAT partition AND look in /etc/fstab, and mount
usr.

/etc/fstab already exists in the root filesystem, so no need to create a
flag file.

Bug#1037249: adb: android-debug-bridge daemon hangs at start (no daemon start)

2023-06-09 Thread Will B.
Package: adb
Version: 1:29.0.6-28
Severity: important
X-Debbugs-Cc: ksu...@gmail.com

Dear Maintainer,

Ever since a few weeks ago, plugging an android device and starting the adb
daemon hangs for some time before being usable i.e. the daemon does not seem to
fire up straight away once a device is plugged in and will take some time
before starting.

I do not know what may have caused this issue and I believe it did not come
from an upgrade on the android device (as the device is pinned to a specific
version) and, beyond app updates, does not receive "mods" that could have
tampered with adb or its daemon.

The issue is found in testing as well as stable.

Once the daemon has started, it remains functioning for the remainder of its
use, even if device is plugged-off and plugged back in a few minutes later.

I have not tried the "experimental" version of adb which seems to be the latest
version available for this package nor did I see the issue mentioned when
reporting this bug. Please disregard if already fixed.

Regards

A further update: a package with this type of bug recently caused an
RC error, as it prevented other packages from loading:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1036947

So if this check is implemented, it should probably raise an lintian
Error if a package fails this check. (The related feature request
#1005043 should probably only raise a warning.)

Best wishes,

While trying to prepackage glab (v1.30) at work (dh-make-golang + [1]), I had
to update golang-github-xanzy-go-gitlab-dev from its current version in
testing/unstable (0.73.1-2) to 0.84.0.

Other dependency package updates were not necessary.

Antoine, does it makes sense that I step in and prepare a non-maintainer upload
(sponsoring would be needed), or does the golang-team take care of that?

Iff Clement Sam is no more responding: is there a gentle, official way that
someone may take over the ITP?

Kind regards,
Nicolas

Bug#1037247: Upgrade to 2.5.5-3+deb10u5 breaks puppet-agent

2023-06-09 Thread IB Development Team

Package: ruby2.5
Version: 2.5.5-3+deb10u5

After upgrading...

Unpacking libruby2.5:amd64 (2.5.5-3+deb10u5) over (2.5.5-3+deb10u4) ...
Unpacking ruby2.5 (2.5.5-3+deb10u5) over (2.5.5-3+deb10u4) ...

...in Debian 10 (same for i386 and amd64) puppet-agent stopped working
and throws errors like

Error: /File[/var/lib/puppet/locales]: Failed to generate additional
resources using 'eval_generate': Failed to open TCP connection to
: (Connection refused - connect(2) for
"" port )

Puppet server name is set correctly in /etc/puppet/puppet.conf but empty
in above error message.

Downgrading both packages to 2.5.5-3+deb10u4 resolves this issue.

Bug#1036644: linux-image-6.1.0-9-amd64: System crashes. Netconsole reports CPUs not responding to MCE broadcast

2023-06-09 Thread Olivier Berger
Hi.

As a followup, I've been able to get another crash, this time when netconsole
was on, and got a bunch of traces, in the attached logs.

Hope this helps identify the culprit... probably i915/drm ?

The title of the bug report should be changed, but I'm not sure how best to
retitle.

Best regards,

Bug#1037246: ITP: libhtml-query-perl -- perform jQuery-like queries on HTML::Element trees

2023-06-09 Thread Andrew Ruthven
Package: wnpp
Owner: Andrew Ruthven
Severity: wishlist
X-Debbugs-CC: debian-de...@lists.debian.org, debian-p...@lists.debian.org

* Package name: libhtml-query-perl
  Version : 0.09
  Upstream Author : Kevin Kamel
* URL : https://metacpan.org/release/HTML-Query
* License : Artistic or GPL-1+
  Programming Lang: Perl
Description : perform jQuery-like queries on HTML::Element trees

The HTML::Query module is an add-on for the HTML::Tree module set. It provides
a simple way to select one or more elements from a tree using a query syntax
inspired by jQuery. This selector syntax will be reassuringly familiar to
anyone who has ever written a CSS selector.

HTML::Query is not an attempt to provide a complete (or even near-complete)
implementation of jQuery in Perl (see Ingy's pQuery module for a more
ambitious attempt at that). Rather, it borrows some of the tried and tested
selector syntax from jQuery (and CSS) that can easily be mapped onto the
look_down() method provided by the HTML::Element module.

The package will be maintained under the umbrella of the Debian Perl Group.

This package is being added to Debian as it is dependency for CSS::Inliner which
will be used by v5.0.4 of Request Tracker.
