I fail to understand the reason behind this: libiptc-dev still exists

The first idea I have is a that a patch, that fixes the build on 32bit

should not make a difference on 64bit systems.
I'm building a version without these patches and see what happens.

cent gimp version with gmic that was not
built for it, maybe even using libgimp from the old version.
Please update to the current version from unstable and see if it works
again.

/buster. Also I don't think
that running /bin/sh to set values in /sys is the appropriate way
if there is a way around that.
So right now I can't see a reason to drop that patch...

Hi,
zbar does not have an active upstream for a long time now.
More and more bugs are reported.
If nobody steps up to maintain the package - and I guess
become upstream for it, I'll file a removal bug.

That's not all and not the problem. The real one is that scons in Debian does
not support python 3 due to a broken Debian patch. Opened a bug already...

will be almost identical to python-gps.
thats all true, but the SConstruct file in 3.17 just does not work with
python3. I could create a hand hacked package, but I'm not keen on doing
that.
