Bom, não consigo instalar os novos pacotes quando atualizo a lista de
pacotes e logo em seguida clico em algum pacote para ver as alterações
e etc.

Oi decko,
Em um sistema Debian creio que é melhor usar o gksu do que o gksudo,
pois assim o usuário não precisa configurar o sudo. Os outros
programas do GNOME estão configurado como gksu.
