Bug#1020555: guacamole-server: New upstream version 1.5.0

Bug#1029622: tuxguitar-alsa fails to install
Hi Tony, sorry for causing so much work with tuxguitar, and thanks for your efforts! Do you think it would make sense to merge all the tuxguitar* packages into one package tuxguitar with arch-any? Maybe this would solve these build problems. I could try this out and put a new package on mentors; just let me know. Regards, Helmar.
Bug#1029476: tuxguitar: arch-any build fails with current build system
According to the log the error happens at Command: dpkg-buildpackage --sanitize-env -us -uc -mamd64 / i386 Build Daemon (x86-ubc-01) -B -rfakeroot --changes-option=-O../tuxguitar_1.5.6+dfsg1-3_amd64-buildd.changes --buildinfo-option=-O../tuxguitar_1.5.6+dfsg1-3_amd64-buildd.buildinfo ... cat: debian/tuxguitar-alsa.poms: No such file or directory ... The same error also happens on my laptop. After adding the link ln -s tuxguitar.poms debian/tuxguitar-alsa.poms dpkg-buildpackage works. Maybe this could be a workaround?
Bug#1025274: License question about sf2 soundfont in Tuxguitar
> https://lists.debian.org/debian-legal/2023/01/msg5.html > https://lists.debian.org/debian-mentors/2023/01/msg00097.html Roberto, Tobias, thanks for your answers. I have removed MagicSFver2.sf2 from the package and added a note to README.Debian. The new package now depends on fluid-soundfont-gm, see https://mentors.debian.net/package/tuxguitar/ The package builds and runs on amd64 and in Qemu for arm64. It looks pretty good to me now. Maybe someone can take a look and upload it? If there is anything more I can do, just let me know.
Bug#1025274: License question about sf2 soundfont in Tuxguitar
Hello legal team, I am trying to update the Tuxguitar package from version 1.2 to 1.5.6. The new version includes the soundfont "Magic Sound Font v2.0". While Tuxguitar is licensed under LGPL-2.1+, the license of the soundfont file (MagicSFver2.sf2) is not 100% clear. The issue was discussed in https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=819332 https://sourceforge.net/p/tuxguitar/support-requests/13/ In the SF ticket, the Tuxguitar author states that the author of the soundfont, Dennis, "allowed us redistribute the soundfont with tuxguitar". I tried to email Dennis to ask about the license of the soundfont, but did not receive a reply. The soundfont file can also be downloaded as "free soundfont" in the "Community Audio" collection on archive.org: https://archive.org/details/opensource_audio?query=free-soundfonts-sf2-2019-04 https://archive.org/download/free-soundfonts-sf2-2019-04/MagicSFver2.sf2 There are already a few other sf2 soundfonts in Debian. sf2 files can be edited with open source soundfont editors like Polyphone, so the format should not be a problem. Do you think it is possible to add the file MagicSFver2.sf2 to the Debian package, maybe under LGPL-2.1+, like the Tuxguitar sources? Or maybe as "public domain"? Regards, Helmar.

I was able to build the package for arm64 and ppc64el in Qemu. I assume it can be built on most architectures supported by Debian.

E: Package installation failed I get the same error message when i try to cross-build other Java packages like tuxguitar-1.2 or pdfsam-4.3.4 from the Debian sources. The same happens with 'pdebuild -- --host-arch arm64'. It seems that the dependency resolver tries to install :arm64, but fails because the package is architecture-independent :all. The package inetutils-2.4 builds fine with 'sbuild --host=arm64', probably because it does not build-depend on any architecture-independent package. Of course, cross-compiling pure Java packages is not very useful, but packages that contain Java and architecture-dependent code cannot be cross-compiled either. > > The package is marked as UNRELEASED in the changelog, thus explicitly not > > for upload. I have now marked the package as unstable and assume that the MagicSFver2.sf2 file can be redistributed under the LGPL-2.1+ license. I'm not sure if this is legitimate; please advice.

> ... wasn't the whole idea of Java to be arch independent? That's true, but Tuxguitar comes with some audio modules written in C/C++ (see build-scripts/native-modules/). I was able to cross compile them with aarch64-linux-gnu-gcc etc. on amd64. Next I will try to cross-build the whole package with sbuild (thanks for the links, Lourisvaldo). > The package is marked as UNRELEASED in the changelog, thus explicitly not > for upload. I'll leave further review to someone with a clue about Java > and Maven... The main reason for marking the package as UNRELEASED is the unclear license of the included "Magic Sound Font v2.0"; see the discussion in #819332. I have tried to contact the author by mail, but have not yet received a reply. I will try again, but if it is not possible to resolve this issue, we could omit the file. Tuxguitar also works with other soundbanks already included in Debian.

Tuxguitar 1.5 is now built with Maven and comes with build scripts for Linux on amd64 (x86_64), i386 (x86) and armv7hl. The differences between the build scripts for amd64 and i386 are minor, and for many other architectures supported by Debian there are no build scripts at all. So my idea was to use the upstream build scripts for amd64 for all architectures and modify/patch them so that they hopefully work on all architectures supported by Debian. This is the reason why i removed all non-amd64 build scripts from the Debian sources (among other things). But maybe this is not the right way, i don't know. Right now i only have amd64 hardware available, so i can't build on other architectures (cross-compile maybe, but that doesn't sound trivial). > > I don't know if it builds on other architectures; probably not > > out-of-the-box. > > The previous versions were ok, I tested arm64 and it fails the same way > amd64 does. I thought ${maven:CompileDepends} in debian/control handles this build dependencies, but somehow it did not work. I added some more dependencies to the Build-Depends, so hopefully they are complete now.

Bug#783011: Skip /etc/awstats/awstats.conf if it's not configured
I too must admit that it's quite confusing to get error mails after 'sudo apt-get install awstats' (7.6+dfsg-2). Maybe it would be better to simply set AWSTATS_ENABLE_BUILDSTATICPAGES and AWSTATS_ENABLE_CRONTABS in /etc/default/awstats to "no" by default.
Bug#858461: logrotate call in debian/README.Debian no more working
In addition to the advices in debian/README.Debian * change line in /etc/logrotate.d/apache2 to: "create 644 root adm" * change permissions of existing files: chmod 644 /var/log/apache2/*.log you also need "chmod 755 /var/log/apache2" to allow www-data to access the logs.

Bug#801848: iwatch: Typo in /etc/default/iwatch makes it unable to start
I had a similar issue on current Jessie with iwatch 0.2.2-3. After installation and configuration iwatch does not start: apt-get install iwatch set "START_DAEMON=true" in /etc/default/iwatch but systemctl start iwatch.service or /etc/init.d/iwatch start do not start the iwatch daemon. No error, no warning, simply nothing. After a reboot everything is OK. Something needs to be restarted after installation; i did not find out what. But it has nothing to do with CONFIG_FILE, this is the correct syntax.

Bug#392334: console-data: On MacBookPro german keyboard the ^ and keys are interchanged
Hi, there is a problem with the package 1.0-6. Here the test results on my MacBookPro regarding mac-macbook-de: dpkg -i console-data_1.0-6_all.deb mac-macbook-de is not selectable in the list presented by 'dpkg-reconfigure console-data'. cd /etc/console cp /usr/share/keymaps/mac/mac-ibook-de.kmap.gz boottime.kmap.gz loadkeys boottime.kmap.gz # = ^° and OK, Apple-Keys left/right wrong cp /usr/share/keymaps/mac/mac-ibook-de-deadkeys.kmap.gz boottime.kmap.gz loadkeys boottime.kmap.gz # ^° and wrong, Apple-Keys left/right wrong cp /usr/share/keymaps/mac/mac-macbook-de.kmap.gz boottime.kmap.gz loadkeys boottime.kmap.gz # = ^° and wrong, Apple-Keys left/right wrong So the keys ^° and have been wrongly interchanged in mac-ibook-de, not in mac-macbook-de; the Apple-keys have not been touched. mac-macbook-de.kmap.gz(1.0-6) is simply a copy of mac-ibook-de.kmap.gz(1.0-5) (zdiff shows no differences). I would suggest to modify version 1.0-6 in the following way: - Replace /usr/share/keymaps/mac/mac-macbook-de.kmap.gz with the attached one (this is a modified mac-ibook-de.kmap.gz(1.0-5) as written in my mail from Fri, 13 Oct 2006 and working fine on my MacBookPro) - Go back to version 1.0-5 for /usr/share/keymaps/mac/mac-ibook-de.kmap.gz . - Keep .../mac-ibook-de-deadkeys.kmap.gz as it is. (I can not verify if these work good since i dont have an iBook, but at least so they behave similarly and as in 1.0-5). - Make mac-macbook-de selectable in the configure-dialog. thanks for your support, Helmar. Am Donnerstag, 19. Oktober 2006 07:20 schrieb Christian Perrier: Helmar, Could you test the attached console-data package. Bug#392334: console-data: On MacBookPro german keyboard the ^ and keys are interchanged
Do you actually suggest adding a keymap with the two keys interchanged, or just patch the existing one ? I suppose the mac-ibook-de keymap works fine for other (older) iMacs and the Problem with the two keys interchanged exists only for the new MacBooks. So i would suggest to add an new keymap mac-macbook-de (should work for MacBook and MacBookPro) derived from mac-ibook-de with the change described. I have another suggestion for a key swap (mac-macbook-de): The functions of the left and right apple-keys beside the space bar. Since AltGR on the german PC keyboard is on the right side of the space bar it would be nice to have it there also on the Mac keyboard. Maybe this modification makes also sense for mac-ibook-de, but since i don't have an iBook i can not verify this, sorry... So both changes together would be (se also the attachment): $ diff --unified mac-ibook-de.kmap mac-macbookpro-de.kmap --- mac-ibook-de.kmap 2006-10-11 11:21:17.0 +0200 +++ mac-macbook-de.kmap 2006-10-13 09:54:13.0 +0200 @@ -90,8 +90,8 @@ keycode 38 = +l+Lat keycode 39 = +odiaeresis +Odiaeresis keycode 40 = +adiaeresis +Adiaeresis -keycode 41 = asciicircum degree Meta_asciicircum Control_asciicircum - control alt keycode 41 = Meta_Control_asciicircum +keycode 86 = asciicircum degree Meta_asciicircum Control_asciicircum + control alt keycode 86 = Meta_Control_asciicircum keycode 42 = Shift keycode 43 = numbersign apostrophe alt keycode 43 = Meta_numbersign @@ -195,10 +195,10 @@ control alt keycode 83 = Boot keycode 84 = Last_Console keycode 85 = -keycode 86 = less greater bar - alt keycode 86 = Meta_less - shift alt keycode 86 = Meta_greater - altgr alt keycode 86 = Meta_bar +keycode 41 = less greater bar + alt keycode 41 = Meta_less + shift alt keycode 41 = Meta_greater + altgr alt keycode 41 = Meta_bar keycode 87 = F11 F23 Console_23 F35 alt keycode 87 = Console_11 control alt keycode 87 = Console_11 @@ -276,9 +276,9 @@ keycode 122 = keycode 123 = keycode 124 = -keycode 125 = AltGr - shift keycode 125 = Compose -keycode 126 = Incr_Console +keycode 125 = Incr_Console +keycode 126 = AltGr + shift keycode 126 = Compose keycode 127 = Compose string F1 = \033[[A string F2 = \033[[B # Keymap from Helge Kreutzmann [EMAIL PROTECTED] # for iBook in German # See http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=250259 for details # # Same as another German keymap, except AltGr mapped to Apple key # # - Alastair McKinstry, 2004-05-23 # TODO: # Compress this somehow by detemining minimal subset and 'include'ing them # keymaps 0-2,4-6,8-10,12 keycode 1 = Escape Escape alt keycode 1 = Meta_Escape shift alt keycode 1 = Meta_Escape keycode 2 = one exclam alt keycode 2 = Meta_one shift alt keycode 2 = Meta_exclam keycode 3 = two quotedbl twosuperior nul alt keycode 3 = Meta_two shift alt keycode 3 = Meta_quotedbl control alt keycode 3 = Meta_nul keycode 4 = threesection threesuperiorEscape alt keycode 4 = Meta_three control alt keycode 4 = Meta_Escape keycode 5 = four dollar alt keycode 5 = Meta_four shift alt keycode 5 = Meta_dollar keycode 6 = five percent alt keycode 6 = Meta_five shift alt keycode 6 = Meta_percent keycode 7 = six ampersand control keycode 7 = Control_asciicircum alt keycode 7 = Meta_six shift alt keycode 7 = Meta_ampersand keycode 8 = sevenslashbraceleft alt keycode 8 = Meta_seven shift alt keycode 8 = Meta_slash altgr alt keycode 8 = Meta_braceleft keycode 9 = eightparenleftbracketleft alt keycode 9 = Meta_eight shift alt keycode 9 = Meta_parenleft altgr alt keycode 9 = Meta_bracketleft keycode 10 = nine parenright bracketright altgr control keycode 10 = Control_bracketright alt keycode 10 = Meta_nine shift alt keycode 10 = Meta_parenright altgr alt keycode 10 = Meta_bracketright keycode 11 = zero equalbraceright alt keycode 11 = Meta_zero
