System is set up to use privacy extension on all devices and even on the
already existinf eth0, but when I connect the cable and NM sets up the link,
the parameter in /proc/sys/net/ipv6/conf/eth0/use_tempaddr switches
Can you check the connection file in
/etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/connection
In section [ipv6], is the following set?
ip6-privacy=2
There is no such file. All my wireless connections have one, but not the
wired connection it seems.

Any idea how to proceed? Also I wonder what your take on the severity is. Given
that private information is leaked I wonder if we should increase to RC.

the privacy extension accordingly and after restarting
NM temporary IPs are used.
So why doesn't NM create the connection file earlier?

I just uploaded 9.43-2 with the patch mentioned in this bug report. However,
I lack the hardware to test hdparm. So please test it before I file an
unblock request.
Also I'm not sure if it's a wise idea to remove the init file at this stage
of the release.
Thanks.

It seems that there is not a lot of development upstream and at the same time
the developer working on the package itself has disappeared. Finally I ran
out of time and without support from either side the package will never get
to a state where it could
makes it into unstable/tesing.

Absolutely agreed. Any idea how to fix this?

Once installed the software downloads updates and makes the system do an

As discussed during DebConf and announced on the mailing list we'd like to open

Note, though, that it still should *not* have a public archive.
