The known_obsolete_packages is particularry short, although
out archive is full of transitional pacakges. Q quick grep
on Packages for transitional and checking for reverse
depends yields atleast the following packages:
cdrecord gaim gnomemeeting gnuplot gs
fallbacks, and possibly when it
will be removed?
The easiest fallback is using alternatives:
Depends: ..., xauth | xbase-clients, ..
xbase-clients will not be removed before lenny.

Dear Maintainer,
While reviewing some packages, your package came up as a possible
candidate for removal from Debian, because:
* two RC bugs with no maintainer action
* Last maintainer upload in 2006.

Looks like jd package has recently added a bunch of compiler
options to debian/rules. Not all cflags work on all architectures..
Please use hardening-wrapper package for setting these options

On arm, -fPIE / -pie are not really usefull (there is no arm kernel patch
for addressspace randomization). Also the idea of having 10-20% larger
binaries on arm is not really popular with arm users/gcc upstream.

Notice that packages requiring TTY during installations will nowadays
fail to install in debian-installer (see #282147), buildd chroots,
and will hang piuparts testing.
Therefor packages using tty in maintainer scripts are already
de facto buggy in common debian usage situations.

Currently blootbot requires tty access if database access fails

Riku, shall I go ahead and take care of this, and re-NMU?
It should be fixed now with 1.6.5-5.2 - ateast the build logs now
show correct dependencies
Hi,
I think becoming a serious instead of wishlist problem.
Some packages have started to add openmpi support (such as petsc), and more
pacakges have wishlist bugs to add openmpi support. These packages are
no longer buildable on multiple debian release architectures.
Why not use libatomic-ops
..how on earth does a license check end up running on buildds?
It's not like the source files are arch-specific and thus would need
to be checked in binary-arch targets.
