Why? Is not ident protocol anachronic? (see wikipedia entry)

pidentd is installed on all debian installs by default,
since the priority section of pident is set to standard.

I don't have it installed by default on my amd64 home computer:

Bug#496174: bacula-director-pgsql: duplicate bug report for #493092

2008-08-31 Thread Teodor
Package: bacula-director-pgsql
Version: 2.4.2-1
Followup-For: Bug #496174

This seems to be a duplicate of bug #493092. I cannot reproduce the
removal of the bacula-dir.conf file, but I'm having perl 5.10 from lenny
not 5.8.8 from etch.

-rw-r- 1 root bacula 8800 2008-08-31 18:28 bacula-dir.conf.dist

Again, the only difference in your setup is that you're running perl
5.8.8 and not the current version in lenny.

The 'grave' severity doesn't seem justified, but that's the mantainer decision.
Should the bugs be merged?

Thanks

Bug#492699: fakeroot: includes files and directories not allowed by FHS -- /emul/ia32-linux

2008-07-28 Thread Teodor
Package: fakeroot
Version: 1.9.5
Severity: serious
Justification: Policy 9.1

FHS-compliance is required by Debian Policy, section 9.1. The package
includes these files:

piti:~# ls -la /emul/ia32-linux/usr/lib/libfakeroot/
total 60
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 128 2008-05-08 10:19 .

-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 29088 2008-04-26 17:53 libfakeroot-tcp.so
piti:~#
piti:~# dpkg -L fakeroot
[..]
/emul
/emul/ia32-linux
/emul/ia32-linux/usr
/emul/ia32-linux/usr/lib
/emul/ia32-linux/usr/lib/libfakeroot
/emul/ia32-linux/usr/lib/libfakeroot/libfakeroot-tcp.so
/emul/ia32-linux/usr/lib/libfakeroot/libfakeroot-sysv.so

This does not affect the usability of the package, but it is annoying to
have these files under /emul. Probably these are used for building i386
packages, but a better location should be selected.

Thanks

seems to make everything compile with -O0.

I think this should be reassigned to dpkg-dev. Is there anything that

The build optimization -O2 is common for all packages and should not
be changed without a good reason.

Bug#492670: bacula-director-pgsql: Apparent bad dependencies (RC?)

[EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:
This looks to me as if this might be RC, becauses current dependencies

There is no depedency problem. If it where you could not be able to
install it either.

 Package: bacula-director-pgsql
 Depends: bacula-director-common (= ${binary:Version}), dbconfig-common (=
 1.8.19), postgresql-client (= 7.4) | postgresql-client-8.1 |
 postgresql-client-7.4 , ${shlibs:Depends}
 Recommends: postgresql-8.3 | postgresql-8.2 | postgresql-8.1 | postgresql-8.0
 | postgresql (= 7.4)

It looks to me as if someone who only has postgresql 8.3 installed,
which I think is the only version for lenny, will therefore have
(only) postgresql-client-8.3, and will be unable to install this package.

No. I have the `postgresql' package installed which pulled
postgresql-8.3 postgresql-client-8.3 by dependency.

Additionally, the depends and recommends are inconsistent, and filled
with lots of old stuff. I don't know if this program, built against
8.3, will even run properly against older versions.

Yes, this depends/recommends on old versions could be cleared. Do you
want to make this a wishlist?

I currently do have postgresql-client-8.1 installed and have not
encountered problems. However, when I attempt to remove it in
aptitude, I am informed that bacula-director-pgsql needs to go too
(although I have postgresql-client-8.[23] installed as well). I
am running with bacula-director-pgsql v 2.2.8-8 with ssl enabled.

That's because of the recommends.

 Related bug: 486664.

That's another story.

Bug#433660: postfix: Proposal for init.d script handling of multiple instances

2008-07-30 Thread Teodor
On Wed, Jul 30, 2008 at 6:35 PM, Thijs Kinkhorst [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:
 Hi,

I'd like to vote for inclusion of this init script into the postfix
package. We're using it here and I think it's a very elegant solution: it
just uses the already available Postfix configuration variable to see
 which services to start.

That makes it work exactly the same for the normal, 1-instance user and at
the same time without additional editing of the init script for those
 using multiple instances.

The most important thing is to make sure the new init.d script has the
same functionality for those that are running a *single* postfix
instance.

Although this setup is mainly used for ISPs, I'll like to have this
feature for postfix. Since the final freeze for lenny is in effect,
this is a new feature and it won't be accepted as freeze exception. I
hope to have it on lenny+1.

Thanks

PS: who should ask for a freeze exception for 2.5.2-2 which seem to
add only translations?

Bug#493075: scsi_id changed commandline syntax (breaks multipath)

I think this can be fixed by depending on udev = 0.125 and hitting

exception since this seems to be RC.

What's your concern? You want an update for lenny but udev_0.125 in

This is a fresh install. The directory /etc/bacula/ doesn't exist at
all before the install.
I just did a fresh install on my workstation. See the attached log
file for the hole process.

The second configuration file (.dist) was not created at all at the
install, but the install has failed as it was described in bug
#441995. So, I've commented the USE ... line and executed a
dpkg-reconfigure bacula-director-mysql which now will succeed.

In conclussion, the second configuration file bacula-dir.conf.dist is
a side effect for bug #441995 which I hope to be fixed for lenny. The
problem is that at reconfiguration it creates/modifies the
/etc/bacula/bacula-dir.conf.dist file instead of
/etc/bacula/bacula-dir.conf.

The startup script /etc/init.d/vz is not executed in runlevel 4. It is a
common practice on Debian to start the services in runlevels 2345 and
stop it in runlevels 016. This patch should be enough:

These are the startup links created automatically:
piti:~# ls -g /etc/rc?.d/*vz

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root 12 2008-08-01 01:41 /etc/rc6.d/K20vz - ../init.d/vz

As you can see only for rc4.d the link is missing.

Guido, from what I see there is no way to go back to the old behaviour
in `udev'. Upstream is just not going to revert it, neither Marco
agrees to patch it. This has nothing to do with either is ABI change
in `udev' is good or bad (this was probably discussed by the udev
developers).

 once this is sorted out:

 multipath-tools:
 * move multipath-tools over to using -d (I'm currently discussing this
with upstream - the fix is obvious but just to be sure)
 * depend on udev (= 0.125) - since older versions of udev don't support
  -d correctly.

That's it. Nothing more, nothing less -- the problem is fixed.

Unless this new version (72) is a bug fix only, it won't be accepted
for lenny since the full freeze is in effect. These new upstream
version reports will have to be postponed until lenny is released.

It would be good to backport bug fixes of severity important or
higher. These are meeting the requirements for a freeze exception.

Ok, I'll fix this in next upload.

As lenny is frozen it is not likely that this will be accepted before that

As I've mentioned in the first message, IMO this is of severity normal
(or minor). It only affects only users that manually selected the
default runlevel 4 and thus a low impact.

Since the fix is trivial I'm quite confident that it will be accepted
with any future upload for lenny (before the release or for any

The change seems to be introduced in v0.97-29 since up to v0.97-28 has
the same ordering.
I've written change not bug since I'm not sure it is a problem.
That is because `update-grub' is supposed to create a list with a
descending ordering. This means that there is a char comparison and
the one with a higher value should go first, for example -openvz-amd64
would go before -amd64 ('a' char vs 'o' char). The same way
-2.6.26-1-amd64 has precedence over -2.6.25-2-amd64 (25 vs 26).

Graphics produced with rrdtool using this version of librrd2 are without text.

The same problem here (in 'cacti' graphs). Although it doesn't affect
the new 1.3.x packages, it might be good to pin the problem and see if
there are any other consequences.

It seems CONFIG_RTC is no longer set in the 2.6.26 config? It seems is was
unset to fix #476970 to allow more specific modules to
 load.

In 2.6.25 we have CONFIG_RTC=y, but on 2.6.26 this is not even
selected as a module. Please select both CONFIG_RTC and CONFIG_GEN_RTC
as modules.

I've sent the bug twice for the simple reason I couldn't find it the
BTS (roundcube package).

Since this can already be achieved with ~plow, the wish is to raise
the priority to 'normal' so that it can be done at the install time
and avoid a postinstall configuration error.

From my tests it seems that `rrdtool' does not use the specified fonts

I could not reproduce this bug with 1.3.1-2.

Just to make myself clear:
* bug #493594 refers to version 1.2.28 not displaying any text;
* bug #493575 refers to version 1.3.x not using the specific fonts.

From my tests it seems that `rrdtool' does not use the specified fonts
as the graphs are identical no matter which font is given.

This works for me in both 1.2.28 and 1.3.1. Note, that the way how to
specify the font has changed. In 1.2.28 you had to specify a path to a
.ttf file while in 1.3 you may use any font identifier as understood by
 libpango.

Since 1.3.x version will probably be in etch, I'm testing only this
version. What is the font path you set, so we can test is either?

Package: xen-tools
Version: 3.9-3

When the root device is selected to be a LVM partion, xen-create-image
installes the new virtual machine but the resulting configuration file
/etc/xen/xndebian50.cfg cannot be used to start the virtual machine. These are
the changes required to make it work:

First problem: XEN + 2.6.25-2-686 is giving kernele panic because it was
never supposed to work, instead the -xen variant should work.

Second problem: 2.6.25-2-xen-686 or 2.6.18-6-xen-686 without XEN
 cannot work either.

I'm not setting the priority higher than 'important' but you might
consider to change it as it breaks the default boot for all hosts.

I'm considering to switch to grub2 but this is still a big issue until
the default boot loader is not longer 'grub' but 'grub2'.

Thanks

Bug#491660: virt-manager: fails to connect to DOM0 (libvirtError in openAuth)

2008-07-21 Thread Teodor
Package: virt-manager
Version: 0.5.4-2
Severity: important

The status at starup is always Disconnected (for localhost). When
trying to connect I'm getting this error message:

Unable to open connection to hypervisor URI 'xen:///':

Even after manually installing and enabling libvirt-bin I get the same
result.

Note that with `convirt' the status at startup is Running. As DOM0 I'm
running the linux-xen flavour from etch (all the tools are from lenny/sid).

Thanks

This package is still used by many people according to popcon [1].
Please remove the failing arches from the control fields in the next

Did you set the 'xend-unix-server' variable to 'yes' in

After setting this parameter to 'yes' it is working fine for 'root'

1. it allows only local unix connections;
2. it allows only for 'root' to connect.

Feel free to close this bug. If it is a common practice for the

Reassingned to xen-3, downgraded priority to 'wishlist'.
Another reason for allowing default connections is that in RedHat we

Bug#481105: adjust patch to pygrub and hvmloader

In virtinst package, we are pointing the pygrub and hvmloader to

our package issue. I suggest to use alternatives to point these to
/usr/bin and so, standardize with another distros. Well, I think this
is the easy way to solve it.

According to the FHS this is not allowed:

3.7.1. Purpose
The /etc hierarchy contains configuration files. A configuration
file is a local file used to control the operation
of a program; it must be static and cannot be an executable binary.

3.7.2. Requirements
No binaries may be located under /etc.

I don't know if the directory /etc/xen-default/bin contains some
binaries but after the name it seems that it does. As a location for
XEN defaults it is annoying to create another directory instead using
/etc/default/.

I've never used Xen, but i thought the -xen kernel should be run on domU and

So how should they be handled, can you please be more specific ?

The same problem I reported for grub legacy at [1]. You can read there
an explanation.
However, this is still going to be a problem in lenny because dom0
support is missing completely and domU support is only on i386.

I think a 'wontfix' tag would have been more appropriate for grub
legacy. At least in grub2 I hope it will be fixed.

Yes, I thought you wanted to do that. Another upload with !alpha,

be fixed for any future upload.
(I don't know what will happen if a security upload is needed. At

Sorry if I have understood something. Please tell me how I make it accepted

Luk Claes took care of this by adding an [alpha] tag in the subject

Yeah, I know, but I was also not liking just doing 21 /dev/null or

 So I didn't add a redirection.

Ok, I just wanted you to know in case it slipped unnoticed.

Please note that I think it is vitally important to include a

 1. grub-install (hd0)

It seems that if the above steps aren't taken the user will be left with
an unbootable system. Should I file a bug report for this?

I've just switched to grub2 from grub on my workstation. To be
precise, I've installed grub2 (which depends on grub-pc) and purged
all the packages related to grub (grub-set-default, grub-splashimages
and maybe others).

At the configuration question I've answered no for the chainloading
from grub-legacy. I've rebooted the machine to see if it works and the
surprise was that the boot menu was the same, that is from grub-legacy
instead of grub2 (with xen options too). The only explanation is that
I should have run grub-install (hd0) to *really* switch to grub2,
but why the menu.lst from grub-legacy was not removed on purge?

The second step update-grub is already executed automatically at
postinstall and it creates the grub.cfg file.

Bug#498235: cacti: up to version 8.7b should depend on rrdtool 1.3

2008-09-08 Thread Teodor
Package: cacti
Version: 0.8.7b-2.1
Severity: important

Cacti does not support rrdtool from 1.3.x series. Under console -
configuration - settings - RRDTool Utility Version we have two
options:
* RRDTool 1.2.x (default)
* RRDTool 1.0.x

There is no support for the 1.3.x series because at the time 0.8.7b was
released rrdtool 1.3 was still in development.

The new version of rrdtool (1.3.x) has changed the ABI, thus some of the
commands / arguments has changed their meaning. For example, the font
arguments are not expecting a path anymore, but a font name. Because of
this the following settins are broken on cacti 0.8.7x or before:
* RRDTool Default Font Path (under settings - paths)
* Default RRDtool 1.2 Fonts (under settings - visual)

The direct consequence is that the graphs contain unformatted (and ugly)
text along with the corresponding values.

Thanks

 Postfix reload.

You should probably restart postfix (not just reload) after any change

Bug#452542: directory on smbfs listing gives PANIC on the samba server -- lib/util.c:smb_panic(1599)

2007-11-23 Thread Teodor
Additional info to the previous message in the BTS.

At every attempt to browse the smb share, I received an e-mail message
similar to this:

##
The Samba 'panic action' script, /usr/share/samba/panic-action,
was called for PID 13622 ().

This means there was a problem with the program, such as a segfault.
However, the executable could not be found for process 13622.
It may have died unexpectedly, or you may not have permission to debug
the process.
##

Obviously, I've downgraded to the previous security release and all is
good again.

Thanks

Bug#452542: directory on smbfs listing gives PANIC on the samba server -- lib/util.c:smb_panic(1599)

2007-11-23 Thread Teodor
Package: samba
Followup-For: Bug #452542

The previous security update (3.0.24-6etch4) does not have this problem,
so this is probably a regression introduced by the latest security
patch.

The smbmount is successful as before. A simple attempt to list the
mounted directory gives the following messages in the samba daemon logs:

2007-11-27 Thread Teodor
Package: linphone
Version: 1.99.0-3
Severity: wishlist

After months of development, linphone-2.0.0 is finally out. It is a
major since linphone upgraded its SIP stack to eXosip2, bringing lots of
improvements, new features, and increased interoperability.

It finally also solves the compilation issues with libosip-2.2.x series,
and the recurrent warnings concerning the use of deprecated functions of
ffmpeg.

Here is the list of new features:

* early media
* incoming re-INVITE
* presence support improvements
* ipv6 working on windows
* SDP exchange over 200ok/ACK for incoming calls
* add experimental snow codec support
* answers to VFU request in SIP-INFO by sending an I-frame.
* ffmpeg rate control enabled, improved mpeg4 quality for low bandwidths
* separate video grabbing and display in linphonec

Bug#453727: op-panel: post-install config gives several [: 67: *** unexpected operator messages

2007-11-30 Thread Teodor
Package: op-panel

I've installed this package and at the post-install configuration is
gives several unexpected operator messages:

These seems to be configuration files. This is not a big issue but in my
opinnion the default config (usual at a minimal) should have a correct
syntax.

Please note that I'm using 'dash' as the provider for '/bin/sh'.

From the bug #443458 it seems that the problem with
gnome-keyboard-properties was caused by libxklavier11 (3.3-1) and is
 fixed in gnome-control-center 2.20.x.

I've forced the upgrade of gnome-control-center to the current version
in sid and I confirm the problem is fixed.

Bug#445615: linux-image-2.6.22-2-686: package broke my grub menu.lst file

 Package: linux-image-2.6.22-2-686

 Justification: renders package unusable

 I had a custom built kernel (2.6.20.10).
This was the conf in the menu.lst file:

 title Debian GNU/Linux, kernel 2.6.20.10
 root(hd0,1)
 kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.20.10 root=/dev/hda2 ro
 savedefault

After installing the stock kernel (linux-image-2.6.22-2-686) this
 configuration was changed to:

 title Debian GNU/Linux, kernel 2.6.20.10
 root(hd0,2)
 kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.20.10 root=/dev/hda3 ro
 savedefault

And of course the system could not boot since it is installed in the second
 partition (/dev/hda2).

The configuration which the stock kernel package generated for it self was
also wrong (it pointed to /dev/hda3, instead of the correct /dev/hda2).

So, I had to manually edit /boot/grub/menu.lst in order to change all (hd0,2)
back to (hd0,1) and all hda3 back to hda2.

I can't really guess why it thought that the system is installed on
 /dev/hda3...

Search this paragraph in /boot/grub/menu.lst:

## ## Start Default Options ##
## default kernel options
## default kernel options for automagic boot options
## If you want special options for specific kernels use kopt_x_y_z
## where x.y.z is kernel version. Minor versions can be omitted.
## e.g. kopt=root=/dev/hda1 ro
## kopt_2_6_8=root=/dev/hdc1 ro
## kopt_2_6_8_2_686=root=/dev/hdc2 ro
# kopt=root=

Show us the last line you from the above paragraph. This has nothing
to do with the 'linux-image', but with the 'update-grub' tool.

Guys, sorry to have bothered you with my eh, inability to understand how
the update-grub tool works... Indeed, the menu.lst file had
 # kopt=root=/dev/hda3 ro
 # groot=(hd0,2)

and that's why my system became unbootable. You must admit though that
an option which is commented out, taking active part in the behaviour
of a tool, is rather unusual... Again sorry!

In this case the bug #445615 should be closed? Can anyone do this?

 ACK.

I will take care of this in the next upload, due tonight.

 Christian, care to sponsor that?

Yep, but better check first with the release team that such a fix
qualifies for being fixed for etch.

Will the release-team accept such a fix?

In my opinion this is only a minor change that will avoid a manual
move of the couriergraph.cgi script to the correct location.

2007-03-04 Thread Teodor

Severity: important

Hi all,

I have this problem on my old computer: Intel Celeron, 1100 MHz with a
Trident Microsystems CyberBlade/i1 video board. I've included this
information because the reported problem does not exist on other servers
used in production (more powerfull).

I'm using Gnome as a desktop environment. When I select the pop art
squares screensaver the system freeze after a few minutes. This was not
a problem with linux version 2.6.17, but only with 2.6.18* version.

The X session does not respond to any combination of keys,
Ctrl+Alt+Backspace included.

I don't have the knowledge of debugging kernel crashes. If you can tell
me how to do that I would be glad to offer more information so that this
bug gets corrected.

Yes. I had the latest xorg* software installed until yesterday. I've
notice today that a new version is available (build -15) and will
make the upgrade and see if the problem persists.

I think that still there is a *kernel* problem too, besides the *xorg*
problem (if any). The OS must not freeze on any circumstances, no
matter how buggy a running process is. Also, the problem might be from
the video *driver* and not the *kernel*.

Bug#408231: nagios2-common: the main script /etc/init.d/nagios2 has commented lines about retrying to stop the service

2007-01-24 Thread Teodor
Package: nagios2-common
Version: 2.6-2
Severity: minor
Tags: patch

In the main script /etc/init.d/nagios2 we have these lines:

stop () {
if [ -n $PID ]; then
  kill -15 -$PID
  ret=$?
# sleep 1
#  if kill -0 $PID 2/dev/null; then
#ret=$?
#log_progress_msg Waiting .
#cnt=0
#while kill -0 $PID 2/dev/null; do
# ret=$?
# cnt=`expr $cnt + 1`
#  if [ $cnt -gt 15 ]; then
#kill -9 -$PID
#break
# fi
# sleep 2
# log_progress_msg .
#done
# fi
else

In most cases the 'stop' action is working only with the SIG_TERM (15)
send to the running process, but it would be good to retry stopping the
service in the case the first attempt failed.

It seems to me that the code is commented by mistake, otherwise it would
be deleted from the main script.

Thanks

Bug#408231: [Pkg-nagios-devel] Bug#408231: nagios2-common: the main script /etc/init.d/nagios2 has commented lines about retrying to stop the service

service in the case the first attempt failed.

It seems to me that the code is commented by mistake, otherwise it would
be deleted from the main script.

I suspect that I copied that code from some other packages and then
left it commented out just in case that nagios needs this more
elaborate handling as well.

Do you consider that 'nagios' doesn't need stop action retrying after
the first attempt?

fwiw, I did not find any revision of the init script in svn that had
this code present _and_ enabled. I am now tempted to treat this as a
non-bug and close it.

What exactly do you suggest doing?

I suggest to do one of the following:
1. if this code is not necessary it should be removed from the script;
2. if the first attempt to stop nagios fails many times it should be
included in the script.

Thanks for your quick response.

There is something unusual on your system, because all the required packages
must be installed.

Installing mktemp package and reconfiguring initramfs-tools solved

the problem.
This seems to be a missing dependency of the package.

There is no need for a dependency because the package 'mktemp' has the

run at least NetBSD and OpenSolaris, may be some other OSes too.

Please, build also the non-PAE kernels in the future.

IMHO this bug should be wontfixed. We already provide binary kernel images
for an excessive number of flavors; it's unrealistic to think that we would
be able to provide prepackaged images for all possible use cases, the
important thing is to provide images that are usable on all target
/hardware/, and if a user needs more specific options afterwards that's why
we have linux-tree and linux-source packages.

One search for xen-hypervisor on the Debian packages gives:

xen-hypervisor-3.0.3-1-amd64
xen-hypervisor-3.0.3-1-i386
xen-hypervisor-3.0.3-1-i386-pae

This means that there is a non-PAE version already available (read the
package description).

Note: using the non-PAE version gives a kernel panic on my system.
I've read the Fedora HOWTO on XEN and it states that XEN 3 requires
PAE to be enabled!!

Bug#480647: mysql-client-5.0: include symlinks for mysqlcheck (mysqlrepair, mysqlanalyze, mysqloptimize)

2008-05-11 Thread Teodor
Package: mysql-client-5.0
Version: 5.0.51a-5
Severity: minor

The manual page for 'mysqlcheck' says:

mysqlcheck has a special feature compared to other client
programs. The default behavior of checking tables (--check) can be
changed by renaming the binary. If you want to have a tool that
repairs tables by default, you should just make a copy of
mysqlcheck named mysqlrepair, or make a symbolic link to
mysqlcheck named mysqlrepair. If you invoke mysqlrepair, it repairs
   tables.

The following names can be used to change mysqlcheck default
behavior:

   +--+--+
   |mysqlrepair | The default option is --repair |
   +--+--+
   |mysqlanalyze | The default option is --analyze |
   +--+--+
   |mysqloptimize | The default option is --optimize |
   +--+--+

First it says to create these symlinks but later it says that you can
use them. Maybe we should include these symlinks in the package.

Thanks

Bug#480652: totem-gstreamer: subtitles are not working anymore (regression from 2.20.x)

2008-05-11 Thread Teodor
Package: totem-gstreamer
Version: 2.22.2-1
Severity: normal

After the upgrade from 2.20.x the subtitles are not working anymore. On
the menu View - Subtitles it says Empty. It is working with other
media players like mplayer and VLC.

On the future lists for 2.22 it says:
# Automatic external subtitle load, or manual (only on the command-line,
# use like: totem file:///file.avi#subtitle:file.srt)
# DVD, VCD and OGG/OGM subtitles and languages support

There is no way I could make it work with file:/// -- not even the movie
is loading.

Bug#481103: on upgrade postinstall configuration replaces the modified /etc/default/bindgraph

2008-05-13 Thread Teodor
Package: bindgraph
Version: 0.2a-3
Severity: important

I've upgraded the package and on all hosts the custom configuration file
/etc/default/bindgraph is being replaced without warning.

I've found that it creates the file based on the debconf information
obtained at the installation (not on upgrades), but it should not modify
the configuration file. Other packages are asking for confirmation and
even if the answer is YES to replace the file, the old file is moved to
something like OLDNAME-old. If the answer is NO, than the new
configuration file is created with NAME-new. Though, this has never
happened with an file from /etc/default/ directory.

Another problem is that the fileslist from the package doesn't have this
file:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ dpkg -S /etc/default/bindgraph
dpkg: /etc/default/bindgraph not found.

I recommend to do the following:
* include the /etc/default/bindgraph in the fileslist;
* create the file only at install, not on upgrades.

I'm not raising the priority higher than important as this is the
mantainer's decision.

Thanks

package 'vuze', they should get what they expect. On the downside,
this means I can't just package vuze 3.1.1.0 as a new package with a
new name and upload it, because it would conflict with the vuze
package in azureus 3.0.5.0. I just downloaded vuze 3.1.1.0 and I'll
see if it builds and runs without too much trouble.

Hi Shaun,

I recommend to upload vuze_3.1.1.0 in NEW and request removal on
azureus from unstable for the following reasons:
* azureus has 3 RC bugs and sooner or latter will be removed from lenny [1];
* vuze_3.0.5.0-1 depends on two packages which are no longer available [2];

Considering that the big blocked for azureus is the upload of
'openjdk' I recommend to not waste time fixing azureus (probably
package 3.0.5.2 along with some bug fixes) and go for vuze_3.1.1.0 in
lenny (azureus being a dummy package depending on vuze).

Thanks for your response.

Bug#478117: qct: should recommend 'cogito' or some other utility that provides 'cg'

2008-07-06 Thread Teodor
Package: qct
Version: 1.5-1
Followup-For: Bug #478117

I could reproduce the reported behaviour:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/tmp-pam$ qct
Unable to find hg (.exe, .bat, .cmd) in your path
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/tmp-pam$ ls -l
total 1
drwxr-xr-x 8 doru users 480 2008-07-06 17:26 pam_mount

But after changing the working directory into a git repo:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/tmp-pam/pam_mount$ ls
autogen.shdoc LICENSE.LGPL2 Makefile.am src
configLICENSE.GPL2 LICENSE.LGPL3 pam_mount.spec
configure.ac LICENSE.GPL3 m4lib scripts
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/tmp-pam/pam_mount$ qct

raise ProgramError(progStr, e.strerror)
qctlib.utils.ProgramError: cg status: No such file or directory

In conclussion I suspect that it defaults to using mercurial (hg) if no
SCM is explicitly given.

Thanks

I've found that there is only one package that provides `cg':
  cgvg: /usr/bin/cg

I think that 'cgvg' should be added as a dependency but maybe I'm
missing something.

Thanks

Bug#489719: mailgraph: missing HOMEPAGE and debian/watch

2008-07-07 Thread Teodor
Package: mailgraph
Version: 1.14-1.1
Severity: minor

As you probably know the final freeze for lenny is in less than 4
weeks. Is there are chance to make a few revisions to the mailgraph
package until then?

Starting with mailgraph_1.13 (2007-03-28) the homepage URL [1] was
changed and it was documented in the changelog [2]. Please add a
HOMEPAGE field to this package.
Is there is no much trouble please add a debian/watch file to inform
us of new upstream releases and fix some of the recommendations from
lintian [3]. Also, an update for Standards-Version to 3.8.0 might not
require any changes.

Thanks

Bug#230826: htdig: 'cron.daily' job always terminates on `lockfile-touch'

2008-07-08 Thread Teodor
Package: htdig
Version: 1:3.2.0b6-6
Followup-For: Bug #230826

The daily cron job for 'htdig' does not complete and every day send a
message with this content:
/etc/cron.daily/htdig:
/etc/cron.daily/htdig: line 26: 8421 Terminated
lockfile-touch /var/run/htdig.cron

A manual execution shows this:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sh -x /etc/cron.daily/htdig
++ which lockfile-create
+ '[' '!' -x /usr/bin/rundig ']'
+ lockfile-create /var/run/htdig.cron
lockfile creation failed
+ exit 0
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ls -l /var/run/htdig*
ls: cannot access /var/run/htdig*: No such file or directory

I'm having a reiserfs partition for /var.

Thanks
