i can confirm, that this patch is needed to get Jabber-yahoo Transports
working on an amd64 Machine.
Without the patch, the service runs, and you can register, but the logon
to the Yahoo Network fails with an Remote Server error failure.

on current version of dhcp3-relay (squeeze) you can add -m forward to
/etc/default/dhcp3-relay
options and the relay agent will forward the packets.

scripts, we can create the named pipe, the daemon will not mess with the named
pipe if it already exists.
But will look for an patch for hardcoded mode settings and discuss this with
