Bug#824163: [bluez] new versions available

2016-05-13 Thread Newbeewan

Package: bluez
Version: 5.36-1+b1

Severity: whishlist
Priority: normal

Hi,

The bluez version in debian is outdated.

New bluez versions are correcting bugs (particularly in OBEX and A2DP) and some ugly hid
disconnection (I experiment it with an bluetooth mouse).

There are also interesting feature Start Limited Discovery compatible with kernel 4.5+
which is now available in testing.

Is it possible to upload lastest version (5.39 at this time) in experimental or
unstable ?

Regards

Mourad

Printing feature in okular are unusable to print clean documents (no auto resize according

Today I need to use an other tool (evince) to print my document cleanly which is the only
workarround a have found for now !

Could you please try out that version and report back here, if it fixes the

I install the tango style and it works for me.

Extraction does work but without the directory structure !

Correctly extract the archive !
As a workaround, after the first directory selection (and flat extraction), the
history ca be used to extract archive correctly !
Please take care of it, this is an old bug from the 4.10 or before !

I don't see that behavior. Please note that there is a checkbox in the
extraction window that says: Preserve paths when extracting

If that's not checked ark won't preserve the directory structure.

I think you are right !

The label in french is very confusing !

I think it would be better to change it to Préserver la structure de
répertoire.

Bug#692107: [procps] 3.3.4 version kill inputs in X and causes some troubles

2012-11-02 Thread newbeewan

Package: procps
Version: 1:3.3.4-1

Severity: critical
Priority: normal

Hi !

I tried to upgrade procps to version 3.3.4 and it cause lot's of troubles to my
system !

First :
 - no more input devices in X.org session all works but input devices (downgrade to 3.3.3
version solve the issue)

Second :
 - some trouble with ps command with args (no problem if no args !)
# ps axf
  PID TTY STAT TIME COMMAND
Signal 11 (SEGV) caught by ps (procps-ng version 3.3.3).
0 ? 0:00ps:display.c:59: please report this bug

This is the reason why I tried to downgrade procps to the testing version.

All come back to normal after downgrading and rebooting system.

I think that 2 issues are linked, because downgrading procps resolve both of
them...

Regards

Mourad

I have tryied :

Is there any solution to make the upgrade happen without reinstalling the whole

This looks like your dpkg database is corrupted, or at least not in sync
with the files installed in your system. Can you please provide us the
contents of all the files named /var/lib/dpkg/info/libc6*.list ?

Ping ?

Sorry for the lack of response !

Unfortunately I have reinstalled the system using the CUT installation CD
(http://cut.debian.net/) and it works like a charm !

I received your first mail just after my reinstall and I haven't any copy of
the old /var :(

I think you can close that bug.

I will reopen it if it happened again and in that case I will save the /var/lib to have
some post mortem datas.

Hello Mourad,

I've been fighting this problem for a whole day on my debian testing which also
used the same libc6 library as the one
on your system.

I have tried all I could think of to resolve this, one of the operations
rendering my system totally useless ... so I
did a lot of manual work to fix it.

Anyways, the long story in short:

Download the appropriate libc6 2.13.-27 library from snapshot.debian.net, in my
case for 64 bit installation (amd64):

http://snapshot.debian.org/archive/debian/20120227T041421Z/pool/main/e/eglibc/libc6_2.13-27_amd64.deb

dpkg -i libc6_2.13-27_amd64.deb

Which fixes libraries and configuration files which might have gone bad

Hello Mourad,

I've been fighting this problem for a whole day on my debian testing which also
used the same libc6 library as the one
on your system.

I have tried all I could think of to resolve this, one of the operations
rendering my system totally useless ... so I
did a lot of manual work to fix it.

Anyways, the long story in short:

Download the appropriate libc6 2.13.-27 library from snapshot.debian.net, in my
case for 64 bit installation (amd64):

http://snapshot.debian.org/archive/debian/20120227T041421Z/pool/main/e/eglibc/libc6_2.13-27_amd64.deb

dpkg -i libc6_2.13-27_amd64.deb

Which fixes libraries and configuration files which might have gone bad
probably by mixing repos (testing and unstable)
for example or from other sources ...

After that, apt-get -f install fixes the required packages and dependencies for
libc6-(friends).

Let me know if you are not able to resolve the problem.

The GNOME/KDE Menu or the Debian menu?

Could you check this ?

For the former:

# grep Icon /usr/share/applications/libreoffice-*desktop
/usr/share/applications/libreoffice-base.desktop:Icon=libreoffice-base
/usr/share/applications/libreoffice-calc.desktop:Icon=libreoffice-calc
/usr/share/applications/libreoffice-draw.desktop:Icon=libreoffice-draw
/usr/share/applications/libreoffice-impress.desktop:Icon=libreoffice-impress
/usr/share/applications/libreoffice-math.desktop:Icon=libreoffice-math
/usr/share/applications/libreoffice-startcenter.desktop:Icon=libreoffice-startcenter
/usr/share/applications/libreoffice-writer.desktop:Icon=libreoffice-writer

And those files are there:

e.g.

/usr/share/icons/hicolor/32x32/apps/libreoffice-calc.png
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/32x32/apps/libreoffice-math.png
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/32x32/apps/libreoffice-main.png
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/32x32/apps/libreoffice-base.png
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/32x32/apps/libreoffice-draw.png
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/32x32/apps/libreoffice-printeradmin.png
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/32x32/apps/libreoffice-writer.png
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/32x32/apps/libreoffice-impress.png

For the latter:

# grep icon /usr/share/menu/libreoffice-*
/usr/share/menu/libreoffice-base:
icon=/usr/share/icons/hicolor/32x32/apps/libreoffice-base.xpm
/usr/share/menu/libreoffice-calc:
icon=/usr/share/icons/hicolor/32x32/apps/libreoffice-calc.xpm
/usr/share/menu/libreoffice-draw:
icon=/usr/share/icons/hicolor/32x32/apps/libreoffice-draw.xpm
/usr/share/menu/libreoffice-impress:
icon=/usr/share/icons/hicolor/32x32/apps/libreoffice-impress.xpm
/usr/share/menu/libreoffice-math:
icon=/usr/share/icons/hicolor/32x32/apps/libreoffice-math.xpm
/usr/share/menu/libreoffice-writer:
icon=/usr/share/icons/hicolor/32x32/apps/libreoffice-writer.xpm

And those files are there:

# dpkg -L libreoffice-common | grep xpm
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/32x32/apps/libreoffice-base.xpm
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/32x32/apps/libreoffice-printeradmin.xpm
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/32x32/apps/libreoffice-writer.xpm
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/32x32/apps/libreoffice-calc.xpm
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/32x32/apps/libreoffice-math.xpm
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/32x32/apps/libreoffice-draw.xpm
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/32x32/apps/libreoffice-impress.xpm
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/32x32/apps/libreoffice-startcenter.xpm
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/32x32/apps/libreoffice-main.xpm

So you really need to give more info. I currently don't have full sid
system to check, but it looks OK to me.

Rene

Hi,

It seem to be a KDE issue !

When I try to edit menu via kde menu editor, I can see all icons !

I tried to select them, and save, it works good but in application launcher, writer and
calc icons are missing.

In Lancelot application launcher, that icons are missing but when I put the mouse on them,
I can see them !

Is there something different in the format between writer, calc and others
icons ?

Mourad

A newer synaptiks version is available (tagged 0.8).

It also switch from hal to udev (it may solve bug #629940) and it is available

Is it possible to make it available in unstable or experimental for testing

TDBTS What is the version of iceweasel-l10n-fr You use?

I've installed iceweasel-l10n-fr and iceweasel works fine. So I can't
reproduce the bug.

Hi,

I found the reason after creating a new profile...

As my profile is very old I started using sync before it was integrated to firefox (in 3.5
if I remember !)...

So I had an old sync installation because I never removed it...

I solve that issue by remove it completely...

You can close that bug, it is solved after removing the old sync extension installation...
So it wasn't language related but extension related that why it was working in safe mode !

Hi,

I had a very bad surprise today, it was my first cold reboot (without hibernate

kde network manager stopped working saying that network-manager is disable !

I tryed to restart it, just in case, but no success.

I remove kde-network-manager to install gnome network-manager in replacement, but no more
success (the message is network is disable)...

I don't know where it could come, I have that logs when I restart network

You're device is in unmanaged mode as you most likely have it configured in

Could you send me your /etc/network/interfaces file (if it contains wpa keys,
don't forget to anonymize them).
Which of your devices (wlan0/eth0) do/did you manage with network-manager?
From which versions did you upgrade?
Did you have a failed suspend resume, ie. please also attach
/var/lib/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.state

Thanks,
Michael

The eth0 is effectively manage outside network manager because I need
some network connection !

Yes, the system failed a suspend/resume just before network-manager stop
working !

It is a very strange behaviour, I install wicd, reboot and it manage to
connect using network manager and it works normally now !
With that success, I try to reinstall kde-network-manager and it works
normally to !

If you alway need it :
# cat /var/lib/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.state

[main]
NetworkingEnabled=true
WirelessEnabled=true
WWANEnabled=true

Thanks a lot for your answer !

Hi !

I don't know where to post that bug... As it affects vlc, I post it here.

If it is a normal boot, every thing is OK, if it is restore session, no sound
with vlc (flash video work, system sounds works...)

Senario to reproduce it :
- Start a session (I'm using kde),
- hibernate the machine (suspend to disk)
- restore it,
- try to play film with vlc (codec doesn't matter, i try severals avi, mkv...).

I try to launch vlc in a console, but no log, no crash traces.

Bug#567118: unable to use my mobile as network connexion

2010-01-27 Thread newbeewan

Package: network-manager-kde
Version: 1:0.9~svn1075616-1

Severity: important

Hi,

I just migrate from the previews experimental (svn1054632-1) I loose the connectivity with
my mobile phone !

When I connect my phone (Sony-ericson w880i), it is detected :
[18404.716051] usb 2-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 9
[18404.892096] usb 2-1: New USB device found, idVendor=0fce, idProduct=d068

[18409.721793] ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): usb0: link is not ready

Before upgrading, usb0 would be bring on by networkmanager with dhcp without any other
configuration...

Now, when i connect my phone, only serial port is shown and no more usb0 !
If I connect in the same time an RJ45 cable, the usb0 appears but i can't
select it.
In syslog everything seem to work but dhcp could not get an ip address by usb0 !
here the full log if it could help :

Bug#566863: Invalid add-ons URL

2010-01-25 Thread newbeewan

Package: icedove
Version: 3.0.1-1

Severity: important

Hi,

I'm testing new features on icedove 3, I can't browse add-ons (Icedove say Icedove
couldn't retreive add-ons), and Browse All add-ons link url is wrong
(https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/icedove in place of
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird).

I think it is the same problem (wrong url) for that 2 things...

Could you look at that ?

Thanks a lot

add-ons)
- after restart, manually installed add-ons are not well install even if you kill icedove
process to restart it completely (restart button doesn't restart really icedove !).

Thanks to look at that issue

I cannot reproduce the problem in any way, so you are on your own to
figure out what's happening.

I find a workaround launching xsane in command line directly from
konsole !

Then chances are the problem is in how XSane is invoked in your
environment when you're not running it from konsole.

JB.

I restart the machine completely, but now, the workaround doen't work
any more :(

I can use it blindly, but it is not really easy !

I try to downgrade libc6 (from sid to testing, just in case) but no
results...

How can I trace that problem ?

Thanks

Bug#513340: Iceweasel troubles with flash 10

2009-01-28 Thread newbeewan

Package: flashplugin-nonfree
Version: 1:2.4

Severity: important
Priority: normal

Hi,

At iceweasel start, flash plugin is working well (read some videos on youtube, web sites
with lots of flash...).
After a while (2 or 3 hours), iceweasel is becoming time consummer (50-70% cpu time),
memory consummer (over 400Mb) and lot slower.
At this moment, if I try to read video or sites with sounds in flash, video are very long
to load and only horrible pieces of sound appears...

I can reproduce it every times.

Workaround : killing iceweasel and restoring the session solve the issue for 2 or 3
hours... but it is not very usefull !

I removed the ~/.adobe directory to remove all parameters from the previous version but no
changes.

iceweasel is the lastest version (3.0.5-1).

Mourad

Bug#504711: Some trouble with inserting imaging by aquiring it from scanner

Hi,

It using openoffice.org 3.0 for some times now and I encounter a regression
from the 2.4.x.

In the previous version, when I insert document from scanner, and it was
working pretty well.

With OOo 3.0 :
If my webcam was plugged, I can't use my scanner correctly (changing the source
as no effect).
If my webcam is off, I can access to my scanner but no preview mode is available (it does
a full scan !) and I have only 2 resolutions available : 75dpi or 4800 ! and no other
parameters visible such as contrast, quality and so on... as it was before !

My scanner is a HP 6280 all in one using ethernet connection and hplip (2.8.6.b-3) and
sane (1.0.14-7)

Bug#483932: Console is sometimes in a mess after X server has started

2008-06-01 Thread newbeewan

Package: nvidia-kernel-source
Version: 169.12-4

Severity: important
Priority: normal

Hi,

I'm using nvidia driver on a 2.6.25-2 kernel (linux-image-2.6.25-2-686 2.6.25-4) and
usplash (0.5.19-2).

Somtimes (I seem to be completely unpredictable, about 1/3 of startups), my laptop start
well, but if I try to switch to console (with Crlt + Alt + fX), characters are unreadable
on the left of the screen... And when I shutdown it, the screen is full of piece of white
crap, such as all characters was mixed up and in bad resolution !

It is not a big issue for now, but if I want to restart kdm, I must do it
blindly...

There are no others problems, Xorg work well, only console issue.

Hardware details : Sony Vaio SZ3, nvidia GeForce Go 7400 with 256Mb of turbo-cache, Intel
Core duo 2, Ram 2Gb, ICH7 family plateform (Mobile 945GM/PM/GMS/940GML and 945GT).

Thanks a lot

That sounds vaguely like one of the issues nvidia claims to have fixed
in 173, so perhaps the next release of the driver will fix that for you.

Ok, I'll wait for the next release.
It is not really blocking for me as I'm using only X session on that
machine.

Sometime, ff stop display web page, it seem to load it, and nothing
happen, right click not responding(no contextual menu appears).

When it happen, if I close one ff window, segmentation fault happened :

I cannot define some criteria to make it reproductible everytime.

But it happen regularly at a random time on any page...

Do you have any extensions installed?

It is miraculously sovled since libGTK was updated to version 2.8.13-1
and libpango to version 1.12.0-2.

It never happened any more for me during the last 2 weeks...

Bug#313029: Copy from Scite, Paste to openoffice

2005-06-11 Thread Newbeewan

Package: scite
Version: 1.64-1

Severity: important
Priority: normal

It is always reproductible with any version of scite(1.62, 1.63, 1.64) and
openoffice writer (1.1.3 and 1.1.4).
If I copy some text from scite and then paste it in openoffice writer, nothing
happen...
On the contrary, if I copy some text from openoffice and paste it in scite, it
works !

With kate, mozilla-thunderbird, it works perfectly in the 2 ways...
It may be a gtk bug, but I never seen it before...
It may also be an openoffice bug...
Thanks

Bug#310382: cannot install debian with kernel 2.6.8 on DELL D810 laptop

2005-05-23 Thread Newbeewan

Package: kernel-image-2.6.8-2
Version: 2.6.8-13
Severity: important
tags: d-i
Priority: normal

Hi,
This is an ICH6 SATA (915PM intel chipset) and the 2.6.8 kernel of the RC3 sarge
installer cannot detect any disk on it...
In kernel 2.4.27, the disk is handled as an ide device, so when i try to install
a new kernel (2.6.11), it make a big mess because hda become sda so fstab and
lilo become not useable at boot time...
That's why it seem to be important to be compatible with ich6 in the installer
kernel...

Thanks

I can't find reproductible criteria, but sometime's, when I have lot's of

It is a regression for me, because it never happened before upgrading to 1.0.3
