Bug#591577: Problem fixed in Smb4K 1.0.x

2012-04-13 Thread Alexander Reinholdt
Hello again!

Smb4K 1.0.x fixes this problem. It comes with the translations of the KDE
project and the build system correctly installs all translations.

A fix to the 0.10.x branch is not planned. However, either renaming
smb4k/po/pt/pt.po to smb4k/po/pt/smb4k.po in the source package or renaming
the pt.mo file to smb4k.mo during installation (as the reporter already stated)
will provide the portuguese users with the translation.

Since we moved to Sourceforge due to the unclear future of BerliOS some months
ago, the source code of the newest stable versions can be found at

http://sourceforge.net/projects/smb4k/files/Smb4K%20%28stable%20releases%29/

Best regards
Alexander

Bug#605872: Smb4K 1.0.x fixes this problem

2012-04-12 Thread Alexander Reinholdt
This issue has been fixed in Smb4K's version 1.0.0 and later: It uses KDE's
KAuth framework to mount and unmount shares, so there is no need for sudo
anymore.

ago, the source code of the newest stable versions can be found at

2010-04-07 Thread Alexander Reinholdt
Hello!

I just released Smb4K 0.10.7 that fixes a compatibility issue in smb4k_umount.
Please consider packaging that one rather than version 0.10.6.

Bug#574269: Smb4K 0.10.6 released

2010-03-24 Thread Alexander Reinholdt
Hello!

I just released Smb4K 0.10.6 that fixes the issue described in this bug
report. Since cifs-utils 4.1 was uploaded to unstable today, Smb4K should work
as expected.

Please note that you now need to enable the use of super user privileges in
the configuration dialog to be able to mount shares.

Best regards
Alexander

Bug#574269: Fixes applied upstream

2010-03-18 Thread Alexander Reinholdt
Hello!

I applied some fixes to Smb4K 0.10 so that it is again possible to mount shares
with it. However, the user now needs to be added to /etc/sudoers (via the
Smb4K configuration dialog) to make it work. I hope, I'll be able to release
Smb4K 0.10.6 this weekend the latest.

Please note that with the current version of mount.cifs available in Debian
the mount process of Smb4K will inevitably crash due to bug #574128. Until
that one is not fixed in the package, you won't be able to mount shares.

Best regards
Alexander

Bug#574269: smb4k serious issue wrt cifs

2010-03-17 Thread Alexander Reinholdt
Hello Fathi,

thank you for bringing this to my attention. I need some time to investigate
this issue, check what options are available and modify the code accordingly.

A quick check showed that using sudo and mount.cifs umount would work (you
need no entry in /etc/fstab in this case), but this is not really a solution
for users who cannot gain super user privileges to change /etc/sudoers.

fusesmb seems to need a lot of configuration (I haven't used it until now).
Maybe this is the way to go, but I'm a bit reluctant to implement support for
it...

Best regards
Alexander

 Hi Alexander,

The following bug has been reported:
 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=574269

The related changes was done on cifs-utils:
 cifs-utils (2:4.0-1) unstable; urgency=low

   * As of this version, the mount.cifs binary is no longer setuid due to
upstream concerns about the audit status of this code. As a
consequence, users will no longer be able to run mount.cifs directly to
mount shares unless mount points have been individually configured in
/etc/fstab with the user mount option.

Sites that require their users to retain the ability to mount arbitrary
CIFS shares without system-level configuration may want to consider
  using the fusesmb package instead.

It seems smb4k should migrate to fusesmb or maybe you have a better
  proposal ?

 Cheers,

 Fathi

Hello!

I noticed that the debian/copyright file is a bit out of date. It is missing
the author of the Konqueror plugin. Additionally, one author should be
removed, because he never contributed to the code base (He actually is one of
our translators.).

I attached a patch.

Bug#427391: kio_fish dies unexpectedly

2007-06-03 Thread Alexander Reinholdt
Package: kdebase-kio-plugins
Version: 4:3.5.7-1
Severity: important

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Since a few days the fish:// protocol dies unexpectedly with any address I try
and everytime I use it. The error message that is reported by Konqueror is,
unfortunately, not very informative:

An error occurred while loading fish://user@address:
The process for the fish://address protocol died unexpectedly.

I tried to find out what happens using gdb, this is the output:

The only odd things I can see here, are the ASSERT statements, that appear
right before the above error message is show. But since those are also shown
with other protocols, that do work, I do not know whether this is the cause
of the problem.

To exclude that this is a Konqueror problem, I tried uploading my home page
project with Quanta and kio_fish. The result is the same: The protocol dies
here, too.

I also check that the problem is not caused by a bad configuration: I created
a new user and performed the tests with this new account. Same result.

If I can help tracking down the problem, please let me know.

Bug#291054: kdelibs4-doc: KWallet class description vanished

2005-01-18 Thread Alexander Reinholdt
Package: kdelibs4-doc
Version: 4:3.3.2-1
Severity: normal

After upgrading to version 3.3.2-1 this morning, I had to find out that
the class description of KWallet vanished, i.e. the files

/usr/share/doc/kde/HTML/en/kdelibs-apidocs/kwallet/html/annotated.html
/usr/share/doc/kde/HTML/en/kdelibs-apidocs/kwallet/html/classes.html
/usr/share/doc/kde/HTML/en/kdelibs-apidocs/kwallet/html/classKWallet_1_1Wallet.html
/usr/share/doc/kde/HTML/en/kdelibs-apidocs/kwallet/html/classKWallet_1_1Wallet-members.html
/usr/share/doc/kde/HTML/en/kdelibs-apidocs/kwallet/html/classKWallet_1_1Wallet.png
/usr/share/doc/kde/HTML/en/kdelibs-apidocs/kwallet/html/functions_func.html
/usr/share/doc/kde/HTML/en/kdelibs-apidocs/kwallet/html/functions.html

are missing from kdelibs4-doc compared to version 4:3.3.1-4.

Bye
Alexander
