With the current KDE PIM in testing a similar issue still exists which I
experienced recently, but this had an additional complication of a KOrganizer
crash involved. I have not done extensive testing, but if I remember to
untick the default "Blocks me for other events" then calendar events do not
seem to "go missing". I have a feeling that it is overlapping events, one of
which has "Blocks me for other events", which causes a problem - a situation
which should not occur, but is allowed!

Andy.

Bug#953328: sddm: No login prompt on tty1

2020-03-07 Thread Andy Wood
Package: sddm
Version: 0.18.1-1
Severity: important
Tags: patch

Dear Maintainer,

* What led up to the situation?
Installed version 0.18.1-1 as provided in bullseye [reboot]

* What was the outcome of this action?
No login prompt on tty1 [but it is present on other tty's]

* What outcome did you expect instead?
Normal login prompt on tty1

This seems to be caused by entries in /lib/systemd/system/sddm.service

Changing:
   Conflicts=getty@tty1.service getty@tty7.service
   After=getty@tty1.service getty@tty7.service

back to [as per the previous version]:
   Conflicts=getty@tty7.service
   After=getty@tty7.service

fixes the problem.

Andy.

Bug#862262: libkf5gapicalendar5: Google calendar changes not synced from Google.

2017-05-10 Thread Andy Wood
Package: libkf5gapicalendar5
Version: 5.1.0-2
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

 * What led up to the situation?

"Google Calendar and Tasks" calendar created and viewed in KOrganizer.

 * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
   ineffective)?

New calendar entry added via the Google web interface whilst KOrganizer is
running.
The local view of the calendar is then updated.

 * What was the outcome of this action?

This new calendar entry is never displayed locally.
The same problem occurs when an existing calendar event is changed remotely, the
changes are never shown locally.
The only way to keep an up-to-date Google Calendar is to use KOrganizer, ie.
calendar syncing works in one direction only (KDE -> Google).

To fix the problem once created, you must delete the local copy and recreate.

Andy.

Bug#837065: gdal-bin: ogr2ogr Segmentation fault

2016-09-08 Thread Andy Wood
Package: gdal-bin
Version: 2.1.1+dfsg-1+b1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Dear Maintainer,

On an up-to-date Debian testing system, the following command, which normally
just works,
now gives a seg fault:
  ogr2ogr -t_srs EPSG:3857 -f "SQLite" -dsco SPATIALITE=YES \

I think I noted a very recent update of spatialite in testing, so this might be
related to that?

Bug#833836: knotes: Knotes migration problem.

2016-08-09 Thread Andy Wood
Package: knotes
Version: 4:16.04.3-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

After the recent migration to 16.04, existing Knotes notes were displayed
simply as a black window. This seemed to be because the Display Settings
of the notes were undeffined. Setting the Text colour to black and the
Background colour to yellow, for each note, restored their visibility.

Bug#833835: knotes: Knotes does not use font configutaion for existing notes.

2016-08-09 Thread Andy Wood
Package: knotes
Version: 4:16.04.3-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

My default font settings for Knotes is as follows:

Knotes > Settings > Editor
Title font = Noto Sans 10 - bold italic
Text font = Oxygen-Sans 10 - Sans-Book

Creating a note with this works fine. I then shutdown Knotes and restart it
and my notes come up with the following font settings:

Title font = Noto Sans 10 - regular
Text font = Noto Sans 10 - regular

Configuration information is obviously not being used to display notes.

Bug#833834: knotes: Knotes move on mouse release.

2016-08-09 Thread Andy Wood
Package: knotes
Version: 4:16.04.3-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

For every other KDE application, when I want to move a window, left clicking
on the title bar still shows the window as I move it to a new position. This
does not work in knotes. The move happens, but there is no feedback on
window position as the move is taking place. This makes it very difficult
to accurately position a knotes note.

Bug#801106: sddm-greeter fails to start

2015-10-06 Thread Andy Wood
Package: sddm
Version: 0.12.0-4
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks the whole system

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?

Reboot after installing nvidia 340.93-3 (latest testing version).
I had tried stopping sddm; rmmod nvidia; and restarting again ... got the
sddm-greeter would
not start error and hoped a reboot would fix.

The only way I could get a working plasma5 was to install and use
lightdm/lightdm-kde-greeter.

Bug#746566: gdal-bin: ogr2ogr fails to create SQLite db using SPATIALITE=YES

2014-05-01 Thread Andy Wood
Package: gdal-bin
Version: 1.10.1+dfsg-5+b1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

The following command works and creates rat_boxes.sqlite:
   ogr2ogr -f SQLite rat_boxes.sqlite rat_boxes.xml

however the following command will continue indefinitely, aparently doing
nothing:
   ogr2ogr -f SQLite rat_boxes.sqlite rat_boxes.xml -dsco SPATIALITE=YES

when interrupted both a .sqlite and a .sqlite-journal file is present.

This is a recent problem as this worked a month or so back.

libspatialite5 (4.1.1-9), spatialite-bin (4.1.1-4) libspatialite3 (3.1.0-rc2-2)
are installed

Although this is being reported from x86_64, the same problem exists on i386.
