Thank you Benjamin. For some reason this bug report ended up in my spam
folder and I didn't see it before my rebuild upload. I am uploading a
build with the patch now and will also prepare an upload of 2.5.1.

Thanks.
It would be great if someone could make a backport of 2.5.1 for bullseye
(and/or fix the bug in 2.3.0+repack-2).

Bug#941978: Acknowledgement (pavucontrol: Use sink_name for labels instead of device.description)

2020-10-24 Thread Benjamin Bänziger
Any help with this, please?

Pavucontrol from other users/distros don't seem to have this issue.

The command to generate the sinks is for example "pacmd load-module
module-null-sink sink_name=HF", so I expect the label to be "HF" and not
"Null Output".

Thank you

Bug#941978: pavucontrol: Use sink_name for labels instead of device.description

2019-10-08 Thread Benjamin Bänziger

Package: pavucontrol
Version: 3.0-4
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

When using multiple module_null_sink with different sink_name, it is not
possible to distinguish them in pavucontrol, since they are all just
labeled with "Null Output".
See screenshot.
