But I still think that these things shouldn't need manual investigation and

Hi,
please keep in mind that there were regular incompatibilities happening between
the libraries, and this might break ceph badly. You might want to add some
automatic diff or similar tool, or sick to a specific version as build
dependency.
The dependency was added again when the diff was
-bluestore-tool’s repair/quick-fix commands.
Opening a bug to track it just in case...

yes, good plan - I've filed a ROM removal bug.

have them in the docker hub, I think the current practice
is just fine. And: its an image from DOCKER, maintained by Debian
developers - its not an image from DEBIAN. It says 'Docker official
images', not 'Debian official images'.
To be honest, I fail to understand why this needs discussion at al
ust build it, if you are using the Debian source.
Otherwise you'll need a lot of patches to make it build, and even more
to fix those various 32bit related bugs.

Please don't package already deprecated things in Debian - if you reallz
need it for compat reasons, make it a wrapper around
String.prototype.padStart().

, I'd assume that you have the collectd-core package on your
webserver - so why no run collection3 from the examples directory? I
don't think that adding a package for a tool that is - imho - pretty
much deprecated these days is not worth the work and disk space.

that netstat is deprecated since at least 2011.
Adding a new package requires to pass the NEW queue again, so I'll have
to review the copyright file... will take a bit.

A symlink as workaround helped...

architectures.
I'll remove 32bit for bullseye, its way too broken to fix it properly
anyway, and not supported by upstream anymore.
It is really sad that Debian was not able to ship ceph in a proper state
until now, the former maintainers had similar discussions with the
release team and its e
script? Please see
https://download.ceph.com/debian-nautilus/pool/main/c/ceph/ceph-base_14.2.9-1bionic_arm64.deb
for reference.
Because somebody might be paid to test and maintain it.
Feel free to use Ubuntu.

that won't happen, ceph startup is a big mix of systemd template units
and targets these days.
