The documentation appears to have moved from mirror.list to /usr/bin/apt-mirror itself. Unfortunately, the manual page still refers to /etc/apt/mirror.list as having all the comments. They do not exist there. There is command line help, either. Typing "apt-mirror --help" gives the error: "apt-mirror: invalid config file specified at /usr/bin/apt-mirror line 137." That does not help a user who has never looked at any executable files. -- Charlie Kravetz Linux Registered User Number 425914 [http://linuxcounter.net/user/425914.html] Never let anyone steal your DREAM. Bug#612612: the sd_generic module interface breaks speech-dispatcher
Package: speech-dispatcher Version: 0.7.1-0ubuntu3 Severity: normal This bug has been reported on Ubuntu Launchpad as: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/571956 The Lucid version of speech-dispatcher running the sd_generic module interface currently breaks speech out from speechd. Steps to reproduce 1. uncomment espeak generic from ~/.speech-dispatcher/speechd.conf 2. restart speech-dispatcher 3. run orca from the terminal and pick espeak generic from the voice engine list. 4. note orca is now silent DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 Package: speech-dispatcher 0.6.8~unofficial~rc2-0ubuntu3 Uname: Linux 2.6.32-21-generic i686 Architecture: i386 ProcEnviron: PATH=(cusUser Name, no user) LANG=en_GB.utf8 SHELL=/bin/bash I am able to reproduce this issue in Ubuntu 10.10. When espeak-generic is set as the speech engine, Orca is silent. There is no sound output. When espeak is set again, without restarting anything except Orca, speech is restored. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers natty-updates APT policy: (500, 'natty-updates'), (500, 'natty-security'), (500, 'natty') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.38-2-generic (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages speech-dispatcher depends on: ii3.112+nmu1ubuntu4 add and remove users and groups ii1.15.8.10ubuntu1 Debian package management system ii4.13a.dfsg.1-6ubuntu3 Manage installed documentation in ii1.0.23-2.1ubuntu2 shared library for ALSA applicatio ii2.12.1-0ubuntu14 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii1.0.13-3 Configuration file parser library ii1.44.05~really-1.44.04-0ubuntu1A multi-lingual software speech sy ii2.27.93-0ubuntu1 The GLib library of C routines ii1:0.9.22+stable-queue-18-geb966-0ubunt PulseAudio client libraries ii0.7.1-0ubuntu3 Speech Dispatcher: Shared librarie ii4.0-0ubuntu9 Linux Standard Base 4.0 init scrip Versions of packages speech-dispatcher recommends: ii1:0.9.22+stable-queue-18-geb966-0ubunt PulseAudio sound server Versions of packages speech-dispatcher suggests: pn speech-dispatcher-doc-cs none (no description available) pn speech-dispatcher-festivalnone (no description available) pn speech-dispatcher-flite none (no description available) -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#612622: Running speech-dispatcher with custom config file not reflected in orca TTS engine/voices list
Package: speech-dispatcher Version: 0.7.1-0ubuntu3 Severity: normal This bug has been reported on Ubuntu Launchpad as: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/571959 When running speech-dispatcher with a custom config file with extra TTS engines configures Orca does not list the engines from the custom speechd.conf rather from the ~/.speech-dispatcher/conf directory copy.
