Bug#596437: [ia32-libs-gtk] Re: Latest ia32-libs (20100908) breaks latest ia32-libs-gtk
Package: ia32-libs-gtk Version: 20100913 --- Please enter the report below this line. --- Hi I got the sources and made a new package (20100908), finding some problems with this sources. What i did was only a apt-get source ia32-libs-gtk and apt-get build-deb ia32-libs-gtk. -BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Hi I am a newbie debian user, that some times play (or try) to compile the kernel and when i saw this bug, i tried some times to build a pkg based in the vanilla 2.6.32.8. As i have a macbook v2, with gpu Intel 945GM, i saw many errors in the X and not understand why?!... Looking the changelog, i saw some bugs about the i915 driver (apg, drm, etc), present in the diff, but not in the vanilla code. So, my question is if are bugs in kernel, why this patches aren't present in the next vanilla pkg at kernel.org? Bug#544864: [xserver-xorg-video-intel] And your framebuffer driver is intelfb?
Em 25-09-2009 10:45, Julien Cristau escreveu: I don't understand what this report is about. It would be nice if you could explain it more clearly. Sorry, Julien. I will try explain better. This bug can be a problem between the frame buffer driver and the X driver (if this is possible). The problem related in this bug is similar at my computer. Since the version 2:2.8.1-1 of xserver-xorg-video-intel that my X freeze and, systematicly, i returned to version 2:2.3.2-2+lenny6, downgrading this package and all depends. I got the same situation with the version 2:2.8.1-2. Today, i remember of framebuffer driver. In my grub, i have configured with options vga=792 splash, that force the console to 1024x768 (in text mode). So, is possible some conflict between the vesafb (the driver loaded) and the X intel driver. Looking this situation, i tried a change in my menu.lst, changing the vga=792 splash to video=intelfb. Result that i haven't the graphical console (stay in 80x40 text mode) and without the splash, but i got the kdm perfectly! So, my suggest was to try the last driver of X (pkg xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.8.1-2) with this change in him(your?) initialization. For me, it is ok.
