Traverso crashes when first starting in KDE4 environment with the following

I tried installing Traverso on an older 32-bit machine running KDE4 from
testing and it worked normally.
It seems the bug affects only sid and/or amd64. ...or there's something wrong
in my laptop ;)

As promised I checked too, using xorg and radeon drivers currently from sid
(the version of the server packages is the same of the packages in testing,
while the driver's version is not --used 6.13.0-2--), kms enabled (it's the
default for radeon), and can confirm it works without problems here

Please enable CONFIG_VGA_SWITCHEROO kernel config option (available from
2.6.34) to enable support for video card switching on notebooks with both
integrated and discrete video card (aka hybrid graphics).

Hm I think this should help, could you please verify it?
Go to your /etc/X11/xorg.conf and comment out the Textured2D option (like
Option Textured2D True).

Today I upgraded linux-image-2.6.26-1-686 to version 2.6.26-2 (was 2.6.26-1)
and the problem disappeared: usplash shows correctly at boot and text

this problem could be
related with proprietary drivers as it shows up early in the boot process
(before the kernel module is loaded), and it showed up even during the first
boot with 2.6.26, when the nvidia module wasn't compiled yet.
