When iperf encounters a fatal error when connecting to a port, such as
the port being closed on the remote side, it simply warns; since this
is an unrecoverable error, it should die.
$ iperf -v
iperf version 2.0.4+svnr43 (7 Apr 2008) pthreads
$ iperf -c

When iperf encounters a fatal error when binding to a port, such as
the port being already in use or lacking permission, it fails to give
fatal error, but instead pretends to continue to listen on the port.
$ iperf -v
iperf version 2.0.4+svnr43 (7 Apr 2008)

Starting with rancid 2.3.2~a8-2, the temp directory created during a
rancid run are remaining in the /tmp directory. The rancid log files
show:
rm: cannot remove `/tmp/tmp.RYaKjejbmy': Is a directory
So it appears there is an 'rm' call
