It is not about previous versions and the update and...

To reproduce the problem:
* create a new empty document
* write something in Farsi in it.
* before saving the file you can add ZERO WIDTH NON-JOINER
(U+200C) in the middle of the words (by Shift+space)
so, for example,
میروم
becomes
می‌روم
* Save the document
* After the file is saved on disk. the bug appears
now if you press Shift+space after the second character in
میروم
you can see than thin pipe.

Bug#599795: gnome-screensaver: keyboard language is that of the app on which it was activated

2010-10-11 Thread Eliad Baqerzadegan
Package: gnome-screensaver
Version: 2.30.0-1
Severity: minor

Let's say you are using an application and the keyboard language is
something other than the default one. Now if gnome-screensaver is

activated it uses that other language (for example, when you want

to enter your password).
I think it should always use the default language.

xscreensaver also has this problem.

Bug#596527: gnome: gnome-help problem!

2010-09-12 Thread Eliad Baqerzadegan
Package: gnome
Version: 1:2.30+1
Severity: important

The problem is that when I try to open gnome-help in any of gnome programs,
e.g. anjuta,
unlimited number of gnome-help processes start.
Then, I'd have to login as root in tty1 and killall gnome-help and killall
gnome-panel.

This bug is probably reported on a wrong package (i.e. gnome).

Bug#594984: Acknowledgement (foxyproxy: it should also work with icecat and icedove)

2010-08-31 Thread Eliad Baqerzadegan
I meant iceape instead of icecat.

Sorry.

Bug#594981: iceweasel-downthemall: must be changed to xul-ext-downthemall so that icecat and icedove can use it

When I said icecat, I meant iceape.

Bug#590270: Problem with ZERO WIDTH NON-JOINER

2010-07-25 Thread Eliad Baqerzadegan
Package: openoffice.org-writer
Version: 1:3.2.1-4
Distribution:squeeze

lang: Farsi

While typing ZERO WIDTH NON-JOINER (U+200C) is displayed correctly.
But, if it is added later to the word it is no longer invisible as it
should be. it looks like a thin pipe (|).
The confusing part is this doesn't happen all the time, but in the
files I had created and edited with the previous versions. So, the
cause of this might be the shift from go-oo to oo.o in the recent
update.

Bug#561092: Linux-image-2.6.30+ post-install

2009-12-14 Thread Eliad Baqerzadegan
Package: Linux-image-2.6.30-2-686
Version: 2.6.30-8squeeze1

In the post-install, the menu.lst file is rewriten and it includes
lines like these:

title        Debian GNU/Linux, kernel 2.6.30-2-686
root        (hd0,0)
kernel        /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.30-2-686 root=/dev/hda1 ro quiet
initrd        /boot/initrd.img-2.6.30-2-686

title        Debian GNU/Linux, kernel 2.6.30-2-686 (single-user mode)
root        (hd0,0)
kernel        /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.30-2-686 root=/dev/hda1 ro single
initrd        /boot/initrd.img-2.6.30-2-686

--
I think:

* in menu.lst: /dev/hda1 must be changed to /dev/sda1
* fstab must also be modified. At least for the first time upgrading
from stable to testing/unstable

This is also the case for Linux-image-2.6.31 and Linux-image-2.6.32
and other platforms.
