Package: radare2 Severity: wishlist Hi all, Radare2 was dropped due to its development model being incompatible with Debian Stable, and hasn't been updated in quite some time. I noticed that recent versions now advertise a stable ABI[1] to reduce the amount of time and effort required for updates. Is it possible to maybe bring radare2 (and iaito) back into the fold? As far as I'm aware Debian is the only mainstream distribution that uses /usr/games for anything anymore and - given the current state of the gaming world with its deluge of always-online DRM - I can't imagine something like it will be useful again. Bug#1028543: lutris: Application not shown in GNOME's application launcher without /usr/games in $PATH.
Package: lutris Version: 0.5.12-1 Severity: normal X-Debbugs-Cc: deb...@elliot.pro Hello, It appears that the Lutris package (as of 0.5.12-1) makes assumptions about the `PATH` variable for the user shell. If `$PATH` does not include `/usr/games` by default (which zsh seems not to), the icon is simply not displayed[1]. I fixed this in my local install by altering the Exec= line of the .desktop file to `/usr/games/lutris` instead of `lutris`. This is how the `steam` package is configured. Looking at the source file[2], it seems that this is default upstream behaviour which would need to be patched in Debian due to the usage of /usr/games. Bug#799099: [Pkg-julia-devel] Bug#799099: julia: please drop build-depends on patchelf
Graham, without setting `USE_SYSTEM_PATCHELF=1`, I believe the Makefiles will still attempt to download and install `patchelf`. `USE_SYSTEM_*` variables are used to tell the Makefile system to not build dependencies automatically, and so since `USE_SYSTEM_PATCHELF=0` is now the default with this patch, `STAGE1_DEPS` will have `patchelf` appended to it, thereby resulting in the buildsystem downloading and compiling `patchelf`, which is no good. It is better to change the patch to declare to the Makefile system to use the system `patchelf`, (by setting `USE_SYSTEM_PATCHELF=1`) but then keeping the rest of your changes so as to make the Makefile system think that it has patchelf, then not install it, but not need to use it. -E On Tue, Sep 15, 2015 at 1:56 PM, Graham Inggswrote: > Source: julia > Version: 0.3.11-1 > Tags: patch > > Hi Maintainer > > Patchelf is buggy on ARM and PPC architectures. > > Julia's Makefile contains the following comment at around line 282: > > # Update RPATH entries and JL_SYSTEM_IMAGE_PATH if > $(private_libdir_rel) != $(build_private_libdir_rel) > > The attached patches prevent patchelf from being downloaded, set > build_private_libdir and build_libdir to use the multiarch lib > directories so that patchelf does not get run, and lastly, remove > patchelf from julia's build-depends. > > Regards > Graham > > ___ > Pkg-julia-devel mailing list > pkg-julia-de...@lists.alioth.debian.org > http://lists.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pkg-julia-devel >

Bug#785862: libqt5webkit5 cannot play h.264 video in Sid
Ah, it is my thinking that gstreamer0.10 is fast on it's way out. The bug in debian with gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg is old and if fixed, would just be a temporary fix before 0.10 goes away. from a related bug in gstreamer0.10 ( https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=720796): I plan to get rid of all of gstreamer 0.10 in the next months, so let's just let this one go now already :) So, I could poke them about a problem with a package that will be removed soon anyways, or poke you about a more long term solution. Bug#587330: [lynx-cur] lynx-cur doesn’t handle IPv6 addresses correctly in the finger protocol (and possibly others).
Package: lynx-cur Version: 2.8.8dev.4-1 Severity: normal When an IPv6 address is given to lynx in the finger protocol, lynx will misinterpret the address. Example: lynx finger://[::1] outputs: Alert!: Invalid port number - will only use port 79! While: lynx finger://ip6-localhost will give the desired output. It seems as if lynx interprets the :1 in [::1] as a port number, and refuses to even attempt to complete the operation. Looking at the source, it looks like lynx will do this with all other protocols it supports, such as news:// and gopher://, although these are quite difficult to test. (No IPv6 gopher servers yet, no clue about news). However, as the HTTP Parser handles the []'s separately (see line 232 to 237 of WWW/Library/implementation/HTParse.c), it doesn't share this problem, and interprets the address correctly. Bug#587330: [lynx-cur] More experimentation...
I did some further testing. It looks like lynx will work with IPv6 gopher. (Finding a server was pretty hard... Its called bucktooth if anyone is interested.) It looks like this might be a bug merely in HTFinger.c It seems that in the case of finger:// addresses, anything lynx deems to be the port is tested, and even IF the port passes the test (must equal 79), it is still omitted. (because, it could only be one value, according to lynx). This means, if you were to type: $ lynx finger://[:79] It would indeed pass the test , but then you would get: Looking up [ Unable to locate remote host [. Alert!: Could not access finger host. Showing us that everything past and including the colon are removed. This also works with arbitrary numbers and/or letters appended to the end. fir example: $ lynx finger://[:79]09842093840298402834 You would again get: Looking up [ Unable to locate remote host [. Alert!: Could not access finger host. It does, however, accept IPv6-style addresses without colons, but I'm pretty sure these don't exist. It is because Sergei is awesome and he fixed the vfork problem that was causing Erlang itself to fail, so now all other packages which use Erlang have a chance of succeeding. -- Elliot Murphy | https://launchpad.net/~statik/ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#563765: ITP: python-whisper -- fast, reliable storage of numeric data over time.
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Elliot Murphy ell...@ubuntu.com This bug report is about my intent to package python-whisper, which is a part of the graphite project: http://graphite.wikidot.com/faq * Package name: python-whisper Version : 0.9.5 Upstream Author : Chris Davis chri...@gmail.com * URL : http://pypi.python.org/pypi/whisper/ * License : Apache-2.0 Programming Lang: Python Description : fast, reliable storage of numeric data over time. Whisper is a fixed size database, similar in design to RRD. RRD is great, and initially Graphite did use RRD for storage.. Over time though, we ran into several issues inherent to RRD's design. 1. RRD can't take updates for a timestamp prior to its most recent update. So for example, if you miss an update for some reason you have no simple way of back-filling your RRD file by telling rrdtool to apply an update to the past. Whisper does not have this limitation, and this makes importing historical data into Graphite way way easier. 2. At the time whisper was written, RRD did not support compacting multiple updates into a single operation. This feature is critical to Graphite's scalability. 3. RRD doesn't like irregular updates. If you update an RRD but don't follow up another update soon, your original update will be lost. This is the straw that broke the camel's back, since Graphite is used for various operational metrics, some of which do not occur regularly (randomly occuring errors for instance) we started to notice that Graphite sometimes wouldn't display data points which we knew existed because we'd received alarms on them from other tools. The problem turned out to be that RRD was dropping the data points because they were irregular. Whisper had to be written to ensure that all data was reliably stored and accessible. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? While the silicon-based solar cells currently used generate electricity at $3/Watt, McGehee is aiming for nanostructured solar cells that are ten times cheaper at $.30/Watt. Once fully developed, McGehee's solar cells would be lower cost because the materials are cheaper. You'll thank me later. 1-206-350-5982 Katrina Donahue I am back to work today and compared to yesterday 100 percent better. I came in yesterday feeling a little sick to my stomach but just put it off to sour stomach thinking nothing about it, I mean I have worked with worse. As the day progressed I noticed my head was hurting more and more, then the lights were getting brighter, at one point I must have looked like the hunchback of Notre dame. I had several of my counter parts coming over concerned about how I was feeling. Several of the folks I have worked with have learned the look on my face and knew what was happening. Now don't get me wrong I have worked through many a migraine and was going to work through this one. This migraine had a different idea though, this was going to be one of those that sideline me. I felt it welling up in my stomach and ran to the bathroom to worship the ole porcelain crown. I came back after a few minutes and a quick mouthwash back to the desk. My compadre ask what happened so I told her and I was promptly ordered home. After checking out with the bosses and making sure there would be no trouble for her to stay on my shift I left. I took much longer to get home then normal due to the fact that I stopped a few times to holler for Ralph! I walked into the house and straight to the bedroom where it was Dark and aid down when my stomach had settled down some I took my meds and was out for a little while. Now if you are one of the lucky ones that do not suffer from migraines the only thing I can think of to let you know the pain that one can feel from it is to take your little toe and close it in a vice till it is the equivalent of mashed taters. Folks having migraines at time lose all track of what they are doing, they have been known to put their heads through walls and more trying to get rid of the pain. While the best known cure on the market is a product called Imatrex, I am one of the few that are allergic to it. I have to use other measures and if I do not want to take narcotics like then I must suffer through it. One of the bad thinks is you get sensitive to light then any movement makes you nauseous, any noise sounds are magnified ten fold. All you want to do is get in a dark corner away from the world and hide. Now the next day when you wake up especially when you have had a rough one like last night you fell almost hung over, really groggy. I woke thought and felt much better (then I did yesterday) and yes hung over I came to work and had a fairly normal day here at the ole station. 3 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe.
