I am very sorry to have sent my above bug report.
On the server in question, sqwebmail had been copied over to another
directory (used by a virtual host). There, the sqwebmail binary and
other stuff had been sitting un-updated since 2006.
The recent courier update to 0.59.0-1 of course left

Whatever location I chose, the directory was still created in /var/www which is

I'm updating the moodle system from sarge to etch.
When updating forum post read/unread records I get the above error messge.
I suppose the script upgradeforumread.php should call this function from
/usr/share/moodle/lib/adminlib.php ?
Well, I tried what I suggested, namely, adding the line
require_once($CFG-libdir.'/adminlib.php');
near the top of /usr/share/moodle/admin/upgradeforumread.php and it
worked for me; so I suppose we have a patch :-)
