Bug#1021370: please add aac support

2024-02-09 Thread Fernando Toledo

please add aac support, even if it is via nonfree

Many headphones or speakers devices have that codec to have good quality.
Without them they are completely unusable.

Any workaround to compile that codec separately or is it necessary to
rebuild the entire pipewire?

thanks!

Please consider a prefix for the source package and binary package name, maybe
lv2- or lv2-audio- or something else more suitable...

After all, lv2 is not the only thing with infamous plugins out there ;-)

I'm not DD but i have some skill on packaging for Debian (not all, but
some to help me to work) :)

I was working on several packages (see pkg-* projects on github):

https://github.com/ftoledo

Also, i'm working on Huayra GNU/Linux a Debian derivated distro:

i update the mentors package, now lintian says:

wnpp:

Is this enough, or should I add something else?

Yeah i think so too, Peter Karlsson was the mantainer up to 0.49
Then, Robert try to update the package and build the 0.50 that i think
that never was included on debian archive.

Due to lack of updates i want to try to keep the software. (and build
0.51 and now 0.52)

Should the lines of the versions (0.50 and 0.51) be eliminated? and let
the 0.49 and 0.52?

2018-08-06 Thread Fernando Toledo
Package: pavucontrol

I use xfce4, and launch pavucontrol from mixer/audio panel icon.

the popup window are small, and i resize it, and close, but this
geometry are not saved. It will start again at small size.

I found that i can launch pavucontrol with -t o -m to select tab or
start maximized. Maybe you can add aditional modifier like -g to set the
initial window size.

Hi Hakan!

I test your fix and i can confirm that work, just with minor diff . The
live plugin file has this content:

d-i anna/choose_modules string di-utils-exit-installer

I just append "apt-cdrom-setup":

d-i anna/choose_modules string di-utils-ext-installer apt-cdrom-setup

Why you remove di-utils-exit-installer in your patch ?

Thanks for your time for catch this issue!!! =)

Bug#785069: jessie live-installer can't install grub when booted via usb drive without internet

2016-10-13 Thread Fernando Toledo
The workaround of running apt-cdrom add from the installer chroot as say
the comment #25 work for me:

https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=785069#25

I'm research if is possible to run via internal hooks of
debian-installer but i do not know exactly where put the simple bash
script that run "in-target apt-cdrom add" that must run before
grub-installer step.

If found some comment in this bug:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=678611#10

That mention posible paths like

usr/lib/finish-install.d
usr/lib/pre-pkgsel.d
usr/lib/post-base-installer.d

and more...

Any guy that know more d-i internals can help here.

I use live-build, and i think can be easy put that script on:

config/includes.installer/usr/lib*

and shipp it on the installer part of the final iso live image.

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

apt-get update in stretch has error using old repos that not expose
DEP11 files.

I use reprepro to generate my own repo to support a derivated debian
distro.

I believe that exists many private and public repos made with tools like
reprepro/aptly/mini-dinstall etc.. and have this problem too.

I known that reprepro must be fixed to support DEP11 (i was fill a bug
on reprepro bts) but until this "transition" stage, i think that apt-get
must have compatilibity and raise a warning instead of error.

I just upload to mentors.

Note: I fix the lintian
https://lintian.debian.org/tags/dep5-copyright-license-name-not-unique.html
warning using this copyright file format:

Is correct?

I think that may confuse to that i are upstream author using Files: *

If use Files: * (for the upstream) and Files: debian/* (for mantainer)
and both have same license this raise the lintian warning.

If my patches have same license. Is it the better way to generate the
copyright file?

Thanks!

hi both, thanks to help me.

if i understand, if i change the debian/* to GPL-2+ will solved only the
patches issues? and still have problem with the upstream man file?
my own patch just is trivial and solve spell lintian warning only.

i just send a email to the upstream author with this comments also.
will need to release a new tarball with this changes?

Bug#349300: actual behavior

2015-10-07 Thread Fernando Toledo
Hi, we working on Huayra GNU/Linux a derivated distro from debian.
At this time our 3.1 release is made over jessie.

I found this behavior on the repository configuration screen of synaptic.

we solved it adding the correct *.info and *.mirrors files into
/usr/share/python-apt/templates

i know that is a very old bug, but maybe this info can be useful for

Bug#777638: remmina: file association for connections (.remmina)

2015-02-10 Thread Fernando Toledo
Package: remmina
Version: 1.1.1-2
Severity: wishlist

Remmina must be open file from file browsers.
Maybe associating .remmina extension with a proper mimetype.

The -c [filename] parameter open a config file.

Vinagre have a 2nd .desktop file called vinagre-file.desktop that provide that
behavior, used for asociate and open .vnc files.

Just like an example:

[Desktop Entry]
Name=Remmina Remote File
Comment=Access remote desktops
Exec=remmina -c %U
Icon=preferences-desktop-remote-desktop
Terminal=false
Type=Application
StartupNotify=true
MimeType=application/x-remmina;
NoDisplay=true

and the mimetype example, remmina-mime.xml:

?xml version=1.0 encoding=UTF-8?
mime-info xmlns=http://www.freedesktop.org/standards/shared-mime-info;
mime-type type=application/x-remmina
sub-class-of type=text/plain/

Bug#751352: RFS: syncterm/20140525-1

2014-06-11 Thread Fernando Toledo
Package: sponsorship-requests
Severity: wishlist

Package: sponsorship-requests
  Severity: whislist

  Dear mentors,

  I am looking for a sponsor for my package syncterm

 * Package name: syncterm
   Version : 20140525-1
   Upstream Author : Stephen Hurd de...@nix.synchro.net
 * URL : http://syncterm.bbsdev.net
 * License : GPL 2
   Section : comm

  It builds those binary packages:

syncterm - BBS terminal program from Synchronet
 syncterm-dbg - BBS terminal program from Synchronet

  To access further information about this package, please visit the following
URL:

  http://mentors.debian.net/package/syncterm

  Alternatively, one can download the package with dget using this command:

dget -x
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/s/syncterm/syncterm_20140525-1.dsc

  Changes since the last upload:

  * new upstream release
  * debug packages depends
  * debug package should be extra priority (lintian)

  I want to get into debian because this terminal emulator is the best for
support ANSI-BBS console codes. You can see it, finding some screenshoots on
internet.
  It's part of Synchronet BBS, a free BBS system.

  Regards,
   Fernando Toledo

Bug#740763: white/loud noise

2014-03-04 Thread Fernando Toledo
Package: performous
Version: 0.7.0-3
Severity: normal

On start, performous sounds like backgrund white noise on debian testing that
make it unusable.
I can reproduce it in my two machines i think that can be a pulseaudio related
issue, but another applications that use pulse just work fine.

can i try something to insolate te problem?
