Bug#971920: nextcloud-desktop: Not showing tray icon on Xfce

2020-10-09 Thread Frank Lanitz
Package: nextcloud-desktop
Version: 3.0.1-3
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

This issue was reported as part of #969576 but I guess somehow it was
missed out.
However, when starting the nextcloud desktop client the tray icon is not
apparing at the Xfce tray plugin. Unfortunately I cannot find anything
inside neither journal nor xsession-error-log.

Thanks, Frank

The varnish.service file still points to old 4.1 version. This also
applies to current 5.2.x packages.
Something like this patch should fix this:

Bug#756101: iceweasel: Cannot add exception for sec_error_unknown_issuer

2014-07-26 Thread Frank Lanitz
Package: iceweasel
Version: 31.0-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

With latest updates I'm not able anymore to add an exception for HTTPS if
iceweasel is not knowing the issuer of an certificate. This is very disturbing
as e.g. Debian has also removed CAcert from list of certs so even I have the
fingerprint of the cert of a server, I cannot add them as ok without doing
some workaround via about:config.

I'm only getting
domain uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown.
(Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)

without any further option than 'Get me out of here!'

 Please fix that asasp.

This issue doesn't occur on upstream (anymore). Beside of this it's not
a kind of bugfix which might go into oldstable.

 Hi,

When opening a file e.g. via poedit po/de.po the history (File-very
bottom) is not remembering full path, but only the short path ending
up in not loadable history entires. In the example case po/de.po.

On current Debian unstable, I confirm that poedit 1.5.4-1 displays,
in the File menu, the basename of the last files that were open by
passing their name on the command line.

Have to double check with lates poedit version.

Cheers,

Bug#525077: gimp stole .ps and .pdf associations in GNOME with lenny-sid upgrade

Package: gimp
Version: 2.8.0-2+b1
Followup-For: Bug #525077

I can confirm this for Xfce and it's really annoying. IMHO gimp should offer
PDF for opening at all.

Bug#643725: open dialog crashes geany

Then click the open icon (or file-open), i get a distorted file

If i hit cancel, then click that icon (or file - open) again, geany
 crashes.

Opening files works properly when i have other files already open.

This should have been fixed in upstream.

Please add iceowl to office submenu structure instead of putting it
into network stuff as its more an office application as a network

I don't see any reason why the updatechecker plugin shouldn't be offered

whether he like to see this information or not.

There is a big problem with the indentation.
When i move with the cursor button and/or back button, the
indentation is wrong. On the geany editor seems good indentation, but
looking with a text editor (ex. vi) is wrong.

Most likely this is messing up your indention with space/tabulator.
Could you add an example file to this bugreport?

 Example, I write:(python file)

 def a:enter

 backspaceblankblankblankblank
 d = 0

 and I save.

 From geany i see:
 def a:
 yield 1
 d = 0

seems a good indentation, but if i see with vi:
 def a:
 yield 1
 d = 0

Very wrong indentation. Python script doesn't work

Unfortunately I meant to add it as attachment. However, please try to
set Document - Indent type to Spaces.

2010-09-22 Thread Frank Lanitz
Package: xfdesktop4
Version: 4.6.2-1+b1
Severity: normal

It appears that the desktop is not remembering desktop background
image correctly on loading time. I always getting a generic desktop
background, but when entering the configuration dialog the image is
still chosen as well as changing to another image and back is bringing
up the wished image again.

To be honest I didn't had the chance to look deeper whether I can find
any issues, but if you can give me a hint where to look I will do.

Afaik, there's no way /home/frank could directly be written to the
config file. Did you modify it manually? Did you use an unreleased
 screenshooter-plugin version?

No. I always used the packages shipped with Debian -- but for a long
time. Configuration file has not been touch manually during this time.
At minimum I started using this in early 2008 but cannot say for sure.

Mhmh, that's so weird. I'll try to check with upstream dev if, at one
point, it saved that kind of path in the file, so it would need some
kind of transition (but basically it's a bit of a pain and not sure it's
 worth it).

Something puzzling me is that, when you did select a new folder, it
didn't change anything in the config file? Did you try removing and
 re-inserting that plugin?

I tried to change the path twice. 1st, failed attempt was during
choosing my home from pulldown which didn't change anything from my
best knowledge (at least the snippet I've posted earlier was taken
after the first attempt). On second attempt I went into filechooser
and selected my home from there. After the plugin then was reloaded
with new startup it worked - a check on rc file showed me the file://
prefix so I assume maybe only the pulldown inside configuration dialog
is maybe not writing complete URI.

Thanks,
Frank

 Ok.
In the configuration dialog, the selected action is indeed “save in”
and the selected folder is correctly set to the /home/frank
homefolder, is that correct? Can you try to re-select it, just in
 case?

It does depend on both.

When trying to create tar.gz file from Thunar including a directory

  Arg.
Could you strace the running process, to see if it correctly opens
  the file?

And did you try reverting to the version in testing to see if it
  corrects the problem?
 Ok, another try.
It seems the issue may be related to the panel size. Can you tell me
your panel size, and try to augment it. On a box here, I have a tiny
panel where the progress bar doesn't appear until the usage is really
high (and as you're using gtk 2.16 the tooltip isnt updated at all).

Maybe some margin calcul is wrong, or something like that, so if you
could check with a larger panel size it'd be nice.

I was able to 'fix' the issue by changing the colors of bars. I'm not
sure what exact went wrong here but after resaving the color the bars
appearing.

Report can be closed from my end.

Thx,
Frank

Can't confirm. I've got the panel running with 36. But changing it to a
much higher value (with restart) didn't work (at least here)

If you have a missing /proc/meminfo then it looks like a kernel problem.
 On linux-image-2.6.29-1-amd64 2.6.29-2 /proc/meminfo is indeed present.

That is a problem of the website you are trying to access, not of
webkit. It is telling the browser it should go the the same page
again. You can try it with wget:

   $ wget -O /dev/null -S  http://frank.uvena.de/index.php

You'll see that after being redirected to the same URI multiple times
wget will give up with the following message:

   20 redirections exceeded.

Thanks for feedback. Unfortunately my fault ;)
Just for the records: A variable was not set correctly when browser is

That information will never possibly be exactly up to date.

This is ok I guess.

 There are
 possible improvements though:

 1) refresh now, once, the size information. The one shown in the
manpage is now almost 4 year old. Everybody will benefit from an
update frequency of at least once per year

I agree. It is not very useful to update it every week, but at least
the dimension should fit.

Latest versions of the radeon driver *do* support this chipset.

Yes. My fault. But it have same behavior, so maybe it's a more common
issue. Report can be closed. I'll go on with investigating and open a

All programs using NetworkManager propably print this on
