Bug#819703: my suggestion: change de message

2016-04-22 Thread Fred Maranhão
I would like to suggest the change of the annoying message.

alter

"This version of XScreenSaver is very old! Please upgrade!"

to

"This version of XScreenSaver is very old! Please don't send bugreports!"

and I prefer to see this message in debconf, not in every login.

Bug#802685: typo in short description - "X.org inputproto proto module"

2015-10-22 Thread Fred Maranhão
Package: x11proto-input-dev
Version: 2.3.1-1

in the short description (that is shown in apt-cache show
x11proto-input-dev) there is the following line:

This package is built from the X.org inputproto proto module.

I think that the correct phrase should be:

This package is built from the X.org input proto module.

Bug#754822: same problem with a ALPS device

2014-07-16 Thread Fred Maranhão
hi,

during an apt-get upgrade today, my xserver-xorg-input-synaptics was
upgraded to 1.8.0-1 and the same problem arise.

I'm not using an Elantech mouse, but an ALPS:

$ egrep -i 'synap|alps|etps' /proc/bus/input/devices
N: Name=ALPS PS/2 Device
N: Name=AlpsPS/2 ALPS GlidePoint

I noticed the problem in GDM login screen, xfce and fluxbox.

If I plug an external usb mouse, the pointer moves normally with the
mouse and slowly with the touchpad.

the categories page seems to have missing text.

there is big blank areas in the session Buildings and in the session
Robots. if I select one of this areas with mouse, click in copy button
and go to an editor and paste (I used emacs), I can see the missing

The installed packages correspond to the profiles selected during
installation, but not necessarily to the use that will actually be
made of the machine. As such, you might want to use a package
management tool to refine the selection of installed packages. The two
most frequently used tools (which are installed if the “Graphical

(accessible from the command line) and commandsynaptic/command
(menuchoiceguimenuSystem/guimenu
guisubmenuAdministration/guisubmenu guimenuitemSynaptic Package

there is a reference to menu system/administration, but in the new

Hi,

I just updated that three packages:

mysql-common all 5.1.56-1 [69,1 kB]
libmysqlclient-dev amd64 5.1.56-1 [3244 kB]
libmysqlclient16 amd64 5.1.56-1 [1979 kB]

these are the currently unstable versions.

Now grass opens normally.

It seems that it is a problem in testing. Not unstable.

Bug#620462: grass: output of function g.mapsets -l truncated in two first caracteres

2011-04-01 Thread Fred Maranhão
Package: grass
Version: 6.4.0~rc6+42329-3
Severity: normal

In window 'Output - GIS.m', when I type de command

g.mapsets -l

it appears the list os mapsets, but the first element has the two first
characteres truncated (or hidden). For example, the output

sqlite user1 PERMANENT

appears that way:

lite user1 PERMANENT

If I click run several times, the old outputs correct, but the newer appears
truncated. if I select the output, with mouse, backwards, when I reach the
start of the  string, the hidden two first characters appears.

Bug#594754: texlive-metapost-doc: file doesn't compile using mpost command

2010-08-28 Thread Fred Maranhão
Package: texlive-metapost-doc
Version: 2009-10
Severity: normal
File: /usr/share/doc/texlive-metapost-doc/metapost/automata/example.mp

I'm trying to compile some third part mp-files and find some trouble when
the figures have btex ... etex tags. So I look for some advice in
documentation and find an example file with btex ... etex tags. So I try to
compile this with mpost, and this happens:

$ mpost example.mp
This is MetaPost, version 1.208 (kpathsea version 5.0.0)
(./example.mp (/usr/share/texmf-texlive/metapost/automata/automata.mp)fatal:
Command failed: etex --parse-first-line --interaction=nonstopmode
mp056721.tex; see mpxerr.log
 example.mp
 example.mpx
! Unable to make mpx file.
l.29 node.a[4][0](btex
 $s_0$ etex);
Transcript written on example.log.

It is the same error that I'm finding with my figures. i noticed that if the
figure doesn't have btex ... etex tags, the compilation finishes ok.

I'm not quite sure if that bug should be opened to that file or to
texlive-binaries (the package that has the /usr/bin/mpost command).

-- Package-specific info:
If you report an error when running one of the TeX-related binaries
(latex, pdftex, metafont,...), or if the bug is related to bad or wrong
output, please include a MINIMAL example input file that produces the
error in your report. Don't forget to also include minimal examples of
other files that are needed, e.g. bibtex databases. Often it also helps
to include the logfile. Please, never send included pictures!

If your example file isn't short or produces more than one page of
output (except when multiple pages are needed to show the problem),
you can probably minimize it further. Instructions on how to do that
can be found at
