Package: virtiofsd
Version: 1.7.0-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

With virtiofsd 1.7.0, nothing can be copied from the Windows guest to the host
system. It works the other way around. With 1.6.1 there was no problem, it
always worked reliably. There is nothing about it in the logs. On the host
system you will find only a 0 byte file.

Bug#1019425: dkms 3.0.6-2 not signing modules

2022-10-25 Thread Holger Schröder

Hi.

I have found the problem why it does not work. It is because of this line:

eval '"$sign_file" sha512 "$mok_signing_key" "$mok_certificate"
"$built_module"'

Here I get hash_algo sha512 signed which doesn't work on my box and my
laptop. If I change this to sha256 secure-boot works as desired. Why
this is so I can not say, this is beyond my knowledge. Also if this is a
bug or not I can't say.

Sorry for my crap english :-)

Cheers Holger...

Yes, it's a problem of the python part of the thing. On the Fedora bug
tracker there are more details:
 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1883982

Upstream has refactored the whole python support in master, but ISTR he
mentioned that it wasn't fully ready last year. There have been no
further changes to it, so it might be tested enough by him now…

Then a fix will probably take some time?

Bug#970228: nemo: Can no longer copy files

2020-09-15 Thread Holger Schröder

I have found the reason for this. I had already set atime=off in my
zpools some time ago. I tried to switch it on again (zfs set atime=on
$pool). And the problem disappeared and everything works again. But why
the newer glib can't handle it I don't know.

I hope this helps to find the error.

What filesystem (ext4? btrfs? FAT? NTFS? ...) are you copying from?

What filesystem are you copying to?

I have zfs only.

If you run nemo from a terminal (xterm, gnome-terminal or equivalent),
does the bug still happen?

Terminal no error output.

If you run it as `strace -efile nemo`, does the bug still happen? What

I will give it later tonight when I am at home.

Bug#956893: wireguard-dkms-1.0.20200413-2 not build on Kernel 5.5.0-1

Yep -- this is deliberate. building wireguard isn't necessary because
5.5.0-1 already ships with wireguard.ko!

If you read
/var/lib/dkms/wireguard/1.0.20200413/5.5.0-1-amd64/x86_64/dkms.conf
(mentioned in the verbose dkms message above) you'll see that we have a
special carveout there to accomodate for this nice backport. (see also
#956241)

The "Error!" message is unfortunate, because it's not actually an error
at all. But that comes from dkms, and it's not something we can change
directly in the wireguard-dkms package.

I'm closing this bug report because everything is working as intended.
you should even be able to use wireguard with your new 5.5.0-1 kernel
without the wireguard-dkms package at all!

If I'm misunderstanding this and you're actually having problems with
wireguard on 5.5.0-1, feel free to reopen this report and give me more
detail about the problem.

Regards,

 --dkg

I always thought that wireguard comes with kernel 5.6. If I had read the
changelog this would have been unnecessary.  :-)

Dear Maintainer,

With systemd 240-1 it is not possible to mount an nfs-share. Downgrade to
239-15 solves the problem.

root@sidbox/home/holgi $ mount -t nfs -o vers=3 hsp1:/home/holgi/backup
/media/dummy
mount.nfs: clnt_dg_create: out of memory
mount.nfs: Cannot allocate memory

If further information is needed, please let me know :)

Might be the same issue as #917167

Can you try the following
# ulimit -n 4096
# mount -t nfs -o vers=3 hsp1:/home/holgi/backup

Can I put that down somewhere as a workaround, that helped. nfs works
with it.

If you're interested in 0.8.0, you can check out [1], which references [2],
which is sufficient to build your own (git master) zfs. Notice that spl
is merged into zfs, so that massively simplifies packaging. Just download
0.8.0-rc1, copy that debian directory from [2] into the source, update
the changelog (dch), and then compile with

debuild -b -us -uc

I'm committed to keeping that packaging suited for building both git-master
and the 0.8.* release branch. I'd recommend building this yourself instead
of waiting for it to get uploaded to experimental, given how little interest
there was in this git packaging for the last 6 months [3].

It might be possible to patch the module for the usercopy stack issue,

Bug#631614: [hdparm] wiper.sh stopped working, due to missing rdev

2011-06-25 Thread Holger Schröder
The hdparm package in debian is just too old.
Newer version of hdparm has wiper.sh 3.3 and it don't need rdev.

Please update the package

Greetings Holgi
