Bug#740718: rkhunter: i18n db update of lang en keyword NETWORK_PROMISC_NO_IP missing

2014-03-04 Thread Hubert Krause
Package: rkhunter
Version: 1.4.0-1
Severity: minor

Dear Maintainer,

This weekend rkhunter automaticaly fetched an i18n upgrade for en and tw
from its mirrors (don't know wich mirror). This upgrade does remove the
keyword NETWORK_PROMISC_NO_IP from language file for en and tw.

This results in the error:

Error: Invalid display - keyword cannot be found: Display line: display --to
LOG --type INFO NETWORK_PROMISC_NO_IP

for daily rkhunter run. Switching to lang=de solve this Problem because
the keyword NETWORK_PROMISC_NO_IP is still availabe in the german language
file.

best regards,

Hubert

Bug#737036: linux-image-3.2.0-4-amd64: XFS error: xlog_space_left: head behind tail

2014-01-29 Thread Hubert Krause
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Package: src:linux
Version: 3.2.51-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

this error occur by random, but then it persists until reboot.
Every time our backup server creates, mounts, unmounts and destroy
an lvm snapshot from the local XFS volume the gap between 'tail_bytes'
and 'GH bytes' increases by 8 bytes. It seems to be a known xfs bug
fixed by this patch:

https://github.com/torvalds/linux/commit/3948659e30808fbaa7673bbe89de2ae9769e20a7

best regards,

Hubert

Bug#736849: libapache2-mod-passenger: wrong passenger tmpdir permissions

2014-01-27 Thread Hubert Krause
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Package: libapache2-mod-passenger
Version: 3.0.13debian-1+deb7u1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

upgrading libapache2-mod-passenger from Verion 3.0.13debian-1 to
3.0.13debian-1+deb7u1 leads to incorrect permissions on passenger
tmp folder: /tmp/passenger.1.pid. Permissons where 750 and not
755, what is necessary. Permissions 750 on this folder will give
the following error (apache2 error.log):

[ pid=27537 thr=139753881134848 file=ext/apache2/Hooks.cpp:862
time=2014-01-23 11:27:03.316 ]: Unexpected error in mod_passenger:
Cannot connect to Unix socket '/tmp/passenger.1.0.27500/gene
ration-0/socket': Permission denied (13) Backtrace: (empty)

With permissions 755 everything works fine.

Workaround: adding the following line to /etc/apache2/envvars:

umask 022

Best regards,

Hubert

Bug#705466: libactionpack-ruby1.8: form_options_helper.rb method add_options do not render option_tags correct

2013-04-15 Thread Hubert Krause
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Package: libactionpack-ruby1.8
Version: 2.3.5-1.2+squeeze8
Severity: normal
Tags: patch

the last update of libactionpack-ruby1.8 leads to a malfunction in
redmine backport version 1.1.2-2~bpo60+1.

The problem is, that an option list rendered by add_options with an
initial empty option leads to escaped option tags. An example:

option value=/option
lt;optgroup label=quot;Testquot;gt;lt;option
value=quot;168quot;gt;Examplelt;/optiongt; lt;option
value=quot;167quot;gt;Example2 2013lt;/optiongt; lt;option
value=quot;170quot;gt;Example 3 2013lt;/optiongt; lt;option
value=quot;165quot;gt;Example
4lt;/optiongt;lt;/optgroupgt;lt;optgroup
label=quot;Textquot;gt;lt;option
value=quot;105quot;gt;Liveganglt;/optiongt; lt;option
value=quot;231quot;gt;Test91 lt;/optiongt;lt;/optgroupgt;

The attached Patch solve this problem, but this patch introduce a
regression to the last patch. I put this patch to this bug report to
help figure out what the real problem might be. I don't know.

Best regards,

Hubert

Bug#403630: installationreport etch

2006-12-19 Thread Hubert Krause
Frans Pop schrieb:

 retitle 403630 Hangs while detecting CD-ROM devices
 thanks

 After install I update the
 Kernel, but get problems booting it. It allways stop at detecting the
 cdrom-devices. (Kernel 2.6.18-3-k7 and 2.6.18-3-486). With the working
 kernel 2.6.17-2-486 ther is no CD-ROM device (there must exist hda and
 hdb)

 That sounds like a kernel problem. Reassigning to the kernel team.
 Can you provide the exact messages you see on the console just before the
 system hangs? Please provide as much context as possible.

Now I discovered, that it is no system hang, it yust pause for 30s, and
I was to impatient to wait wich leads to this bug-report. some examples
for positions where the system pause:

SCSI device sda: drive cache: write back
sda: sda1 sda2 sda3
hdb ATAPI 52 X DVD-ROM drive, 256kb Cache, UDMA(33)
sd 0:0:0:0: atached scsi disk sda

then pause for 30s and then continue with

Attempting manual resume ...

then it stops allways at

Compaq touchscreen protocol output

for additional 30s

another example:

SCSI device sda: drive cache: write back
sda: sda1 sda2 sda3
sd 0:0:0:0: atached scsi disk sda
hdb ATAPI 52 X DVD-ROM drive, 256kb Cache, UDMA(33)

then pause for 30s and then continue with

Attempting manual resume ...

But everything was working now with the exception of taking a lot of
time to boot, so I removed the 3c905 NIC.

The result was that everything was working perfekt after the removal of
the additional NIC. No pause during boot anymore. For me this Problem is
solved now.

best regards,

Hubert

this for networking.

Bug#385555: libpam-mount: the smb mount option changes from smb to smbfs, but no hint in documentation

2006-09-01 Thread Hubert Krause
Package: libpam-mount
Version: 0.17-3
Severity: minor

If you upgrade from sarge to etch, a working configuration with pammount and
windowsshares may not working anymore because the mount option for smb
changes from smb to smbfs between sarge and etch. There must be a hint in
the Dokumentation.
